Lynn looks it over, then deadpans.

She snorts at her own joke, then goes on humming the song transcribed on that sheet, waggling her finger as if it's a baton. She trails off and puts on a more serious face for her more serious reply.

Sommarpsalm. Summer Hymn. Long name "En vänlig grönskas rika dräkt," or "A Friendly Green Does Richly Dress." Real popular in Sweden. As for me, I hate hymns. A kind and loving god doesn't exist, as should be pretty damn obvious by now if it wasn't before. That all?

Ryoto blinked, his initial anger had burnt off, but had had made up his mind for now. He had just started trusting someone again and now she had tried to use him use him use him use him he wasn't a tool, He wasn't a gun or a shovel to be used... But he still didn't want to have hurt her as much as he did. But. No weakness in front of the bitch ghost. "...Kitsune." He said, unable to speak what he truly felt...He wouldn't have enough words to describe it.

Lynn looks down upon the smaller girl with scornful pity. She says in a dull and controlled voice,

... like you... don't really understand life or death, do you? "Sorry" won't fix a goddamn thing. Do you know what it feels like to die? Twice, even? It feels cold. And then, there's a spark of clarity. All your regrets, all the things that make you happy as well, the hopes you had for the future and all your assumptions. They evaporate. No matter how much you struggle to hold on to them. They're gone with your life. Disgusting people like you who give people reasons to hurt you. Disgusting people like you who hurt yourselves. Disgusting people like you who take the most precious thing a person can have. I hope you live and look my family in the eye and tell them that you're sorry.

She ruffles her short blue hair with a grimace.

So shut up with that "woe is me" attitude. Ask me directly the question you want an answer to.

Who Ya Gonna Call? || Kitsune || Closed for Mikami and Ryoto

Mikami, enthralled with and vaguely frightened by the dramatic display before her, catches a quick glimpse of Kitsune unraveling next to her. She turns quickly, intent on making this process as smooth as possible, with as few stepped-on fingers and feelings as possible.

"Shh, you’re okay, Kitsune-san, just relax, you aren’t terrible, he’s that other him at this point. I’m not quite sure how that works." she’s whispering quietly, so as to not disrupt Ryoto’s yelling. "Just stay calm and we’ll be able to sort this out once this is all over, and we can catch the bastard who forced us into this situation, we’ll be just fine…"

She grabs the other girl’s bandaged hand, trying to get her to focus on something, anything, but what had just happened.

Lynn's screams start sounding more like cackling after Kitsune starts wailing on her for a while. She's dead, so she really has nothing further to lose, and so she gloats.

Yes! Go on! Beat the spirit of the girl you murdered! I'm a wicked little child who can't learn any way but through the stick, right?! That's what you're thinking, isn't it?! You say you didn't kill me when you left me to bleed out there? You did this, you--!

Once the shorter girl is forcibly pulled off of her, she goes ice cold quiet and glares with steely eyes. Flatly, she goes on,

You're shitting me. I come here expecting at least a little "oh, sorry for bashing your head against the one thing you found secure." Otherwise you fucks would've contacted some other friendly ghost. But no. You don't give a shit about me. Hmph. Most people at least are smart enough to pretend.

You dense motherfuckers. Think I want vengeance against the mastermind behind this? Hell if I care. I'm already fucking dead. With a wry smile, she tilts her ghostly head up and gives a haughty little laugh before ending with a lie,

She just plowed through Ryoto and Kitsune's argument by talking about herself. Some things never change, huh.

N-No, it’s fine… but… we’re going to need some stuff… a candle, something to light it with, and some salt in case she tries to possess anyone. I highly doubt she would, but we can never be too careful.

After gathering the required materials, they arrived in the ballroom.  Kitsune lit a candle and flicked the lightswitch, turning them off.

She approached the stage.

Okay… if you guys want to be able to see and hear her, you need to make physical contact with me. If she shows signs of getting ready to possess anyone, let go of me and grab some salt. Put it in your mouth and leave to the first floor.

She approaches the piano and speaks.

Our… beloved Lynn, we bring you gifts from life to death, commune with us, Lynn, and move among us.

And then.. appeared the angry spirit of our passed pianist.

Appear she does, with her ballgown flowing past her floating feet, her hair cut and her lavender eyes without even a trace of the spark they had while she was living. She frowns.

"Beloved" my ass, you murderer.

From her clenched fists and the billowing of her dress as she stomps her feet, she seems to be throwing a tantrum.

You motherfucker, all I ask all I have ever, ever wanted was to just live a long and healthy life and you took even that away? To someone who's never harmed a single hair on your ugly fucking head. I humored you, I acted like you didn't disgust me, but that's not enough, no? What, were you jealous that I could love myself without shoving justifications down other people's throats? Jealous that I'm prettier than a man like you can be? Don't get me fucking started on this. Shit.

She sounds quite reasonable for someone who's currently thinking "wow gross."

"I’m with you on that one," Eirik stated, nodding in approval at Kitsune’s affirmative action.  "Good for you, taking the first step.  It’s pretty admirable, i think…"  His voice trailed off a bit after that, but he soon cleared his throat and added, "Anyway, I’m gonna follow you up with mine."

The hockey player then began pacing up and down the room, his arms crossed in front of his broad chest with a nervous look on his face.  Finally, he paused to address his classmates.  ”Back home, I have a reputation for giving head.”  He stuck out his tongue, showcasing the body modification that he generally kept under wraps when it was in his power.  At some point before the Olympics, he had gone to a tattoo parlor and he left the place with a forked tongue.  ”I once hit a kid on the playground when I was nine.  And…”  This last one was the only one he seemed to hesitate much on.  ”I’m pansexual.”

Ryoto smiled at her, looking very proud. Though that little voice in his head does like to argue with him sometimes.

Lynn waltzes her way across the ballroom, a mop as her partner as she makes the floor shine. Has... Has she lost it? She stands alert and holds the mop normally as soon as she notices that she had an audience. She coughs a bit and curtsies.

Ah. Good day.

She looks off to the side, covering her mouth with her remaining hand. Is she embarrassed? That's an emotion she's capable of?!

Hopefully, you listened and followed Kitsune into the living room. Everyone sat except for her, who stood before you.

'Right, then… So, I looked at my secret and well. It's all shit that I don't want people to know… but after last time, I know people here are serious 'bout murder. So I'm gonna spill em right now so if a murder does happen, they can't pin that shit on me.

She took a deep, deep breath.

Well, I guess first thing’s first. 

She grabs her mask and pulls it right off, placing it onto the coffee table.

Her left eye is completely bandaged, and it looks like it has dried blood. There’s multiple scars running over her nose and under her other eye as well.

This is… w-what I look like. 

She let her hair down. Now, if you knew anything about japanese politics, you would’ve recognized her as the oldest child and only daughter of the very powerful Kuro-Oni family.

My real name is Ame Kuro-Oni. First daughter ‘f the Kuro-Oni family. Dad’s real powerful n stuff. 

And um… I…

She took another deep breath.

Lynn nods, careful to emphasize the "Miss." Certainly wouldn't want to piss her off, after all. She averts her gaze and blinks a few times before continuing to speak.

I've no idea how much courage it must have taken for you to come forth, but it is much appreciated. You... are among friends here. And in solidarity, we will stand, so that no one else may perish under this roof. Though we may have our differences, I hold trust in you. I must, for to believe that a classmate is so full of fear and hatred that they would be driven to murder, I simply cannot believe that. Miss Ame. It is all right.

A very controlled speech, so her emotions may not be detected. Her eyebrows are slightly furrowed. Is she saddened? Or angry?

... Well. If we are sharing secrets, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to let mine out as well.

She clears her throat.

My mother and father had wanted a boy. Instead, they had received a girl with one lung. Me. I would have died back then if my mother, a doctor, had not noticed signs of more health complications after taking me home. To this day, my mother and father wonder if perhaps they should have let me die instead. That is all.

Upon reading the envelope, Kitsune nodded to herself.  She then stood tall.

I’d like everyone to meet in the living room. Now, please. It’s important.

She left and waited for them to follow.

He smirked at the feeling of her nails, seeming to enjoy it more then he should.

"Maybe, maybe, but I also know when a pretty girl's trying to get me to do what she wants. Believe me, you're not the first to get the bright idea of batting your eyes and trying to tug on my heartstrings."

Ryoto started mimicking her now, in a semi-high voice. He had two hands to his cheek, clasped together. "Oh ryoto, you're such a good student, maybe you can come over and help me study? Maybe even teach me one of those games" "Can you come and do my homework, we can hang out afterwards~" "Oh sir ryoto, im just so weak and lonely, please come to my room and protect me~" Ryoto's tone returned to normal, still with that edge of bitterness to his voice. He looked....hurt, almost, like an animal lashing out in fear and pain.

"Always a damn lie. So maybe I'm just jaded, and you're really sincere...if laying it on thick. But I just wanted to let you know, that these thoughts are there. That the suspicion is there. And hell, I'm sorry it is, but I'm only fucking human, Lynne. I just don't want to fall in love and get used again. Is that a little too much to ask?"

Well. I certainly know the feeling. I suppose we may be considered kindred spirits in that regard, though of course you may afford to be more open about your dissatisfaction. Ah, I envy you.

She loosens her grip and strokes her fragile little thumb over the marks left by her nails. So this is his deal, huh? This complicates matters. She wills a little moisture to reach her purple eyes and lets out a little sigh.

A world full of lies and half-truths, where every present comes with strings, and people who see the true you balk and call you a monster. Such is a frightening world, yes? I know. I know very well. It's tiring to live in fear for so long.

But you have to suck it up, get over it, you goddamn mess, just get the fuck over it, this is reality

Ryoto rubs the back of his head shyly…This entire time, he had been very glad that nobody had asked about his quirks beyond simply just staring oddly or being faintly put off. But, of course, some burning part of him at the back of his mind began to itch more and more..He had to tell her. She had trusted him, so he had to trust her. With a quiet clearing of his throat, he started to speak a bit more timidly.

"Um…b-before we keep going, I just…w-wanted to say, I’ve been holding something back from you this entire time..I’m so flattered you think of me well, b-but…If you’re going to trust me fully, I need to tell you that. Let me just…."

Ryoto gave an anxious breath and began to remove his eyepatch, the thing falling aside…revealing a sickly red eye. The look on his face turned from that earnest, positive glow to something..not. He looked at her, and in a tone of voice almost entirely different from previously, he began to say

"Listen, babe…I’d like to meet your folks. I would. But…I can’t help but get the feeling you’re just toying with me. Now, Hell, I could be wrong, but this whole narrative about the rich girl and her protective lower-class boy…You can’t tell me it don’t seem a bit fabricated. Now, if you’re actually god damned serious about this.."

The young man’s hand slid down her side and rested on her hip, a lewd look in his eyes..God, he had completely changed in his body language.

"I wouldn’t mind getting close to a lovely little lady like you. But only if you’re willing to actually treat me like a damn person, instead of some fucking puppy you can keep in your purse."

Lynn is caught off guard. Well, she supposes she was a bit too hasty maybe in assuming the eyepatch was a fashion statement. She takes care not to let her face fall too much, keeping a faint smile plastered on her face. She noticeably flinches at the hand on her hip, though, and grips his wrist tightly.

What kind of joke is this? She can't tell, and that really pisses her off.

Ah, Sir Ryoto... I'm afraid I don't entirely understand what you mean. Though I am of noble blood, I have tried so hard not to look down on a single person here, as we are all equal in the eyes of Hope's Peak Academy, yes? I... I've been treating you just as I've treated all others in this house.

The best lies are technical truths. She puts on a look of feigned concern mixed in with just a hint of real fear.

Are you dissatisfied? Have I done anything to upset you? Because, I assure you, I take every moment of my life with the utmost seriousness.

She hasn't clipped her nails since entering the mansion, and she digs them into Ryoto's wrist.

Tears well up in the attorney’s eyes as her face turns red the burning pain is felt down her throat. She chokes on her own words stammering even as she manages to get them out staring with a weak laugh. “Hhhhaaha Y-you’re really good at telling jokes Lynn. I’m sure that one is hi-hilarious in your home country, b-but here in Japan those sort of drugs aren’t legal. S-so I’m rec-co-co- mending a detox period and some rest.” She shakes her head no, not Madoka, how could she be so blind She would have trusted him with her life, and were he still alive she still would, the reason she kept those condoms from the sweet machine….. she had feared news of his death the most but… “Damn it. Damn it all to fucking hell. I’m such a fucking useless piece of fucking shit. I should have fucking been there for him. At the motherfucking trial I could have defended his sweet candy ass, then he wouldn’t have had to die.” Tears rolled down her face freely. “Madoka -san. I-I loved him”

Now if Lynn were an honest person, then she would've scoffed. How dare this girl say she was in love when they've barely been here for, what, a week? Using words like that so strongly for a murderer, Lynn is disgusted beyond belief. But she keeps her ladylike facade and sheds a few tears herself. She approaches Kawauso and tenderly embraces her in her thin arms.

Oh, Miss Naruhodou... I'm so sorry...

She strokes the back of her head, murmuring soothing words.

I cannot imagine how much pain you must be in right now. To learn that a dearly beloved person had killed another... Miss Naruhodou, if he had not been discovered, then the rest of us would have died in his stead... Even so, I am so very sorry... It's all right to cry. There, there. You are a wonderful woman, Miss Naruhodou. I swear it.

How trapped she had felt because she knew everyone else felt the same but she was so weak an cowardly she ran and hid. A song played in her mind, the song the minstrel played when Sir Robin ran away from the tree headed man who was going to kill him.She remembered watching that movie and laughing at Sir Robin’s cowardice. How weak must she appear? "I was looking to regroup, with my friends, those I trust, the ones I made before anyone, aside from the hostess had died." Assuming they even wanted to see her sorry ass. "I wanted to know what happened. Do you know where Eirik, Kitsune, Madoka, Hisoka or Ryoto are? Are they all safe? I trust I need not ask that about you unless I’ve just gone absolutly bonkers and you’re a ghost."

Lynn looks at her with a combination of disbelief and pity. She sighs, looks off to the side, and speaks slowly in a controlled, strained voice.

I... I am sorry, Miss Naruhodou. Mister Madoka, he... He had... left us. Rather, he had... lost his sight, and... he was the one to murder Mister Daisuke. And so, under the rules of our... hostess... he has been put to death...

She tears up and hunches over as if just explaining the situation has winded her. It's not as if she's unaffected. She feels genuine fear and terror here. But that fear is not so much over the deaths of her classmates so much as she herself potentially dying in the future.

Oh lord, that was awful! He had been trying to keep it out of his mind, but, he surely was being missed by mom…He blinked and looked at the ground, A shaky breath as he thought it over..Oh gosh, she must feel so alone.

"Y-you’re right. She must be….but…She would be proud of me too, I think..That I’ve done this well, even under pressure. She always was. I’m so sorry to hear about your family, though, Lady Lynne. It must be lonely, surely…"

Ryoto felt a pang of heartache at the idea..Oh, she really did need at least someone to trust her here, right? Well..that’s what he was for!

"Mm…I can only hope so as well, my Lady. If only to nip this tragic situation before it grows out of control…"

Ryoto lightly put an arm around her, gently, letting her know she can rest her head on his shoulder if she wished. If she flinches at all, he’ll pull away immediately.

Even though another person's touch makes Lynn itchy, she bears with it and leans against him, making an effort to relax her body. Let him think she trusts him more than she does. The way to a person's heart is to make them believe that both of you may be vulnerable around each other without fear. Seems to be working.

Well. I cannot say I'm unused to the feeling of loneliness, as even surrounded by others... I feel much better around you, though, Sir Ryoto. Safe. Happy.

Thank you for staying by my side. You're a very brave person. Quite kind and courageous. Quite a person to be proud of. At least, I know that my family would be proud to have such a son.

She smiles wearily up at him and brushes her blue hair out of her face while she lies through her teeth. As if anybody would be proud of such a clueless boy with weird hobbies.

Kawauso peeked her head out of her room, the screaming had stopped, was the maid dead? She slowly stepped out tripping over a bag in front of her door. Sweet Machine coins. With a note. ‘For surviving the first trial’ One student had killed another and, given ‘survived’ she could only assume that one was found guilty and executed. She felt ill. These were a bunch of teenagers, only a few of them would have any experience with a trial, what if the person who was found guilty wasn’t what if. No no time for that nonsense It was time to regroup with those she had known before. Those she trusted. Eirik, Kitsune, Madoka, Hisoka, Ryoto, Lynn? Possibly her too. In her heart she feels these people would not kill another. Aside from maybe Lynn but she has little power to do so. She just prays that none of them were killed

She certainly seems anxious, keeping a good distance between herself and Kawauso. Never know who's going to be the next to attack, after all.
