Honestly one of the worst things I have recently seen as a complaint about Thirteen Reasons Why, is the suggestion that the victim of an assault is somehow responsible for the assault for not doing exactly the right thing at exactly the right moment. Like, I literally saw someone suggest that Hannah had brought it on herself and that her assault hadn’t contributed to her death, and honestly, if you haven’t been assaulted, shut the fuck up. You don’t know what that does to you if you haven’t been through it, and to suggest that there were things that “should have” been done to “prevent” the incident is ridiculous. I haven’t read trw or watched the show yet, but I swear to god, that’s the worst thing I could have seen someone complaining about with regard to the show/book.
