A day in the life of a kitten...

Almost two years ago exactly, a small dog waited at the gate of my apartment as I was headed off to school in the morning. He came with a friend, who ran away and I ended up catching just this one. He put up no fight. In fact, he just licked my face and I quickly threw him in my patio area of my apartment to ensure his safety and then ran off to school (I had a quiz that morning). 

I came home and fell in love with this little face. My mom was set on me not having a dog, and plus, this was my last year of school. I had no time for a dog. I tried to find him a home for a few weeks and I ended up giving him to an acquaintance. 

A few weeks ago, I found out that this acquaintance of mine lost him and gave up their efforts to look for him. It breaks my heart that I gave him up.I can't help but feel a little guilty. I wish I could have done more for him, but it was outside my control. I did my best to find him the best home I could at the time, and it just ended up this way.

I just hope that he is okay and found another lovely home that loves him just as much as I do.

I am pretty sure I have the cutest dogs in the world. And they aren't the cutest, then they are definitely the happiest.

My Last Visit to the Zoo

We caught each other's eye as I was walking by his exhibit. It was something I have never experienced before- a special connection with a species that is not my own. 

We stared at each other for a while, both looking at each other inquisitively. As I stared, I noticed the complete and utter sadness in his eyes. He swam over to get a closer look at me. I couldn't help but feel sorry for him and his life in captivity.

His sadness was not something I made up in my mind. I knew that because I placed my hand against the glass, he stared right into my eyes and put his paw up to my hand. 

We are ignorant to think that we are the only species that can feel.

For the Love of Nature

Went kayaking with my love the other day for the first time in two years. It was tiresome, but incredibly fun. We even found a soccer ball.
