guess who FINALLY decided to stop being lame and apply for the second character she’s been thinking about adding since she joined? ( it me! ) under the cut i’m gonna list some stuff about my cute little pickle destiny aka the polar opposite of eliot. ur welcome.
SPOTTED: DESTINY JACOBS , the TWENTY TWO year old ACTRESS who’s currently working as SADIE WINTERS on PALOMA GENERAL. the blogs say they’re COMPASSIONATE and can also be OPINIONATED, but they also say SHE/HER looks just like AISHA DEE so they might be full of it. ( jo - 18 - gmt - she/her )
let’s start at the very beginning ( a very good place to start ) destiny jane jacobs was the result of a one night stand. her mother adele jacobs was twenty six and quickly deemed an unfit mother so sole custody of destiny was awarded to her grandmother. as a child, destiny was the happiest and cutest little baby. she grew up in a fairly poor part of missouri and although her grandmother didn't have a lot, she loved her to pieces.
in her adolescene destiny quickly developed a passion for performing. she had a wild imagination that needed to be exercised. hence why she was in every single play her school put on. things changed as she reached her teens though. destiny began growing more aware that she was different, being biracial, lower class and raised by her grandmother. so she started hanging around with some of the older kids from her neighbourhood from a young age. let's just say they weren't the best role models.
her main rebellious behavior happened when she was fourteen when she began drinking and having sex. there were several close calls with the police for things such as vandalism and loitering. then at the age of sixteen she was busted shoplifting. what was she stealing you may ask? a pregnancy test. given the circumstances the charges were dropped but as soon as she got home, her grandmother made her take the test. low and behold, she was pregnant.
destiny’s grandmother was pretty strict so the bombshell was very hard for her to deal with. destiny decided to have the baby though. her daughter neveah was born when she was seventeen and was/is adorable. the father was never in the picture, being one of two possible guys who had made it very clear that they weren't interested.
for the first year destiny tried to live with her daughter and grandmother in harmony. she found jobs to pay for the things her grandmother refused to help with, all the while remaining happy in her loving little little bubble. he daughter meant everything to her. unfortunately her grandmother didn’t share the same feelings. shortly after nevaeh’s first birthday it became too much. destiny as asked to move out.
unsure of where to go, destiny spent a night with neveah at her old friends house but it was clear she didn’t fit with them anymore & she definitely didn’t want her daughter to.
an attempt was made by destiny to stay with some old friends but she was disgusted by the lifestyle they lead, wanting something better for her daughter. so she started looking for a place of her own nad somehow ended up looking at small apartments in los angeles. one month later, with no job, limited funds a two year old, she got on a plane and moved to los angeles.·
her sunny personality and optimism helped her get a job and make friends pretty quickly. she worked harder than any nineteen year old ever had. acting wasn't even on her agenda at that point in time but apparently good things came to those who waited. when an indie movie decided to film a scene at the diner she worked in, destiny's personality lead to her being chosen to play a small part as a diner worker who comforted an abducted child.
after this she was recommended by the director to an agency who began finding her odd jobs, the dead girl on CSI, the best friend in a lifetime movie. B Movies. Typical beginner stuff.·
She booked the recurring role as Sadie in Paloma General after a scheduling conflict caused the original actress to drop out. Then when she was promoted to a secondary character she almost died (not literally.)·now she's just in her dream world. Nevaeh is five and the sweetest little kid in the world. She moved out of her tiny apartment and in to a better area & she's the happiest she's ever been.·
So that's her backstory out of the way ( ew that was long and complicated. i hate myself ) ANYWAY·
on to her personality: she's a lil pickle. works super hard for everything. learned from all of her past mistakes. she's the kind of person that cries at the loved ones visit on survivor.
she's also a HUGE activist, very determined to set a strong example for her daughter. will fight you on any kind of issue that she has strong opinions on. will fight your misogyny like a beast.
as for relationship and all that sexy stuff, she's pretty open to anything. considers herself as bisexual because, although she's never been with a woman, she knows it's a possibility. her biggest thing to get over in relationships is nevaeh. so prospective partners have gotta be good with her.
would honestly die for her daughter bc they're all each other has in the world.·
in terms of the press, she's yet to be experienced to much other than the occasional tweet about her being a teen mom. her biggest insecurity it her teenage behavior so that's what she's most insecure about. she doesn't want that stereotype that would come with it after all her hard work. BUT if you're nice to her she's more than happy to talk about it with you.·
