Considering an AU where Katerina summoned Mikael during the 500 years she was running, so earlier than in canon, and they had been working together for some time when Katerina arrived in Mystic Falls ala, season two? Hmmmm. Trying to find ways to write and not have Mikael murder people isn't so easy.
