Staring at the ceiling one Kyouko Kirigiri laid in her bed. She was alone in the room even though rooms were now shared. Her roomate, along with a couple of other students had yet to arrive, so she was alone. Not that she minded in the slightest. The room itself look almost as if no one was living in it. The only indicators that showed someone resided in it was the simple black notebook that rested on the lamp stand and the suitcase that laid neatly against the wall. 

Kirigiri let out a breath and allowed herself to be consumed by thoughts. Why was she still here at this school? Originally her only reason to come to the school was to meet the Headmaster and speak with him. She had even sullied her families pride to get here. Finally she got the chance to speak to him; the man whose shadow she couldn't escape, her father.

She had entered the office with emotions brooding under her calm facade. A photo on his desk showed Kirigiri when she was younger with her father and both were smiling. Looking away from the picture she had managed to tell him why she came to his school with minimal emotion; however how he answered caught her off guard. He agreed to allow her to cut off their family ties with not a single argument against it. Done with her business Kirigiri had walked over to the door about to leave until he spoke again. 

"I understand you're so eager to leave me behind, I do. I just wish you'd have given me another chance.  If you can ever forgive me you know where to find me Kyouko."

With only a slight pause Kirigiri left.

Now here she lay remembering the scene from ten minutes ago. Part of her wanted to cry- there was no way he understood how she felt- but no tears fell. When was the last time she cried? Honestly, she could not remember, but she assumed it was probably when he had left. 

"I've accomplished what I've come here to do and yet I don't want to leave..." What was holding her here? She was done her task and could leave at her leisure with a bit of persuading but she made no move to do so. Instead a gloved hand reached over to grab the small notebook that was on the stand. Holding it above her the tiniest of smiles graced her features. 

This was it wasn't it? This was why she didn't have the heart to leave. She had received this book from Naegi during a day out and had kept it close ever since. No, it wasn't just him. He may have been a large factor but she had met other interesting characters during her stay. It'd be a shame to leave them all behind. The boy who assumed he was ordinary but was far from it, the gambling lolita, the programmer who was uncomfortable with gender, the foreign princess,  the small gangster who hated being called cute, and many others. 

Hugging the book Kirigiri closed her eyes and let sleep take her.

"That is true..."

As their food arrived conversation halted to a standstill. Twirling her fork delicately Kirigiri gathered up some spaghetti. Waiting a second for it to cool the girl eventually took a bite just as Naegi spoke again. Making sure she had swallowed everything Kirigiri responded.

"Too close? I assume you mean clingy, or something similar to it. You're definitely not clingy, that is for sure. I will admit I'm not used to this kind of interaction but there are no boundaries being crossed so you're fine."
