Detroit - Reality Denied Detroit have always been an angry set of lads, but Reality Denied sees that impassioned sense of melodrama take a hyperbolic surge into a positively feral direction that would have any performance of Reality Denied parallel a showcase of rabies with the band suffering from seizures of enmity as white foam froths from their convulsing mouths and flaying limbs. However its the instruments I personally feel sorry for though, Detroit forsake any notion of instrumental care and skill and instead treat them as some sort of punching bag. For example the drums sound like they have been thrown down a RIT stairwell , endlessly crashing and recoiling against a physics defying construct; a chaos of cacophonies as erratic as it is fracturing. Meanwhile the string department fares little better, endlessly being clawed at with quick violent angular jerks as if their handler was inclined to rip the chords straight out of the guitar head.
