I have been outspoken about my feelings on the changes made to angels in supernatural in recent years. I loved the idea behind season 4 and I loved the idea of vessels. I love that these powerful beings would also be dependent in getting consent from humans. What I did not love was turning angels from ruthless WARRIORS of God into kind-of-ruthless corporal America of Gods to mindless-indecisive idiots.
How did we got from characters like Michael, Uriel, Castiel (s4), Zachariah and Raphael to---idiot angel that falls for the oldest damn trick in the book and tells the Winchesters valuable information because they MOCKED HIM? The beings who could smite you with a second, getting overwhelmed by a couple of human souls? From the idea of an angel murdering another being so unheard of, even Castiel had trouble believing Uriel would do something like that, to constant civil wars and free murder for all.
When i first started to watching this show, the first thing I was told was, wait until you get to season 4 and the angels get there. My god, I was so fucking excited. And now I can’t stop dreading whenever they show up.
Even Heaven went from this otherworldly thing in Dark Side of the Moon to WHITE HALLWAYS. I get their budget is not Hollywood big, but come on! And the horrendous Heaven Prison Gadreel dreaded---come on!
There have been hints if good angels. Naomi, even though they were trying to copy Zachariah (who worked because he was unique) or Gadreel, but they were killed before they could serve a purpose. Hannah’s characterization has been a mess, like the writers couldn’t even decide on what to do. Why do angels care so much for Metatron when during season 9 they were happily killing angels for simply NOT WANTING TO GO BACK TO HEAVEN.
I was even more pissed when Reaper canon was sacrificed for the sake of killing one character, Tessa, which re-conned seasons of Reaper canon by turning them into a class of angel.
And demons. I can’t even go back and watch demons in season one or two because I cry. I know I joked about them using Windows 8, but it’s so--stupid. It is the only reaction someone can get. Remember Yellow Eyes or Alastair. Remember those 5 seconds of Dean in Hell in s3. Now we have people wondering in and out of Hell like is a nice vacation spot.
If there is an object I wish would disappear never to be seen again like The Colt or Adam is Ruby’s fucking knife. God I miss when the Winchesters ACTUALLY HAD TO STRUGGLE to defeat a demon. I swear a teenager werewolf puts better fights these days.
I wish if they’d wanted to keep Crowley in friendly terms with the Winchesters for them to have kept Abaddon as a villain and have her take over Hell. It is a joke now. No way in Hell the same demons from previous seasons would be following Crowley now. He has no plans other than sit around Hell and pin for Dean. What exactly are they getting out of it? Nothing.
And that’s also why now that I will be moving accounts, my Lucifer will be a mix of season 4-5 Supernatural canon, Dominion and biblical lore. So---very AU-ish. I just cannot take canon for these two beings seriously anymore.

Yeah, I just looked and it is 230+ pages I would have to re-tag, so I’m just going to have to archive this one and move my threads, again and start the new tagging system from scratch. And if people don’t follow me then they never meant to interact with me and they will miss all my awesome sass and charming personality. And I can finally start from scratch with my own angels headcanons and not get dragged down by Supernatural’s indecisive angel canon. I will link you my new username.
so biblical!lilith won. i am tempted because it would be fun. but i made adam and hardly anyone followed back and people are even more picky about female characters.
on the other hand, i deleted adam, but i love the url for him. and i am considering making it my lucifer’s url. and i really want to archive this blog because i hate my current tags and my recent disappointments about spn’s angel canon is making me want to drop it as my main verse.
i kind of want to completely go down the biblical or even dominion route (*because corporal wings) with him. and just do a supernatural verse on the side.
but i’ve moved twice already and last time a lot of people i considered mutuals didn’t follow and that’s like--my biggest fear whenever i do it.
