hello

i thought tumblr could use a heritage posts blog related to devilman, so i made one. this blog runs on a queue that posts everyday at 12 pm est.

what is considered a devilman heritage post™?

i consider posts with lots of notes that are 4+ years old as heritage posts and aim to reblog those, but given the fandom’s size, i consider devilman posts that are funny and that have over 100 notes as automatic heritage posts. 

the exception to those two “rules” are posts that are either a decade or about a decade old. i will also reblog those posts no matter the note size.

important fact

the singer of the “devilman no uta” remix in Devilman Crybaby, as well as the voice actor for one of the series’ main antagonists, is Avu-chan, a japanese trans woman of african-american descent.

the punk/pop band that her and her sister are part of, Ziyoou-Vacchi (lit. “Queen Bee”), is popular in Japan, but unfortunately, all of their videos and songs seem to be region-locked. however, the popularity of Crybaby and its theme song could hopefully change that.

in any case, it’s kind of vindicating in a way that bigoted weeaboos are going fucking nuts online over how great a song performed by a black trans woman is.

Hi, Ziyoou Vachi ( 女王蜂 ) is considered Glam Rock but also has alot of Japanese punk influence (especially from a 1960′s stand point but yatta yatta yatta) and they have a few albums on iTunes! Ziyoou-Vachi has been around since 2011 and was originally signed to Sony, which is why so many videos are region locked, but you can view a lot of her interviews (untranslated sadly) on youtube!  女王蜂 is of Avu-chan, her sister (on drums), and their two friends on guitar and bass. at the moment I cant find English translations of their names.

the itunes album are their 2011 album Kujyaku (Peacock), some eps and remixes, and their 2015 album Kinkyujitai! their 2017 album, 2012 album, and  first album hasent his US itunes but are fantastic!

some of their older MV’s are around, id see if I can find any, but a big pull about avu-chan is her dynamic range, 女王蜂 ‘s dancey and yet grimy sound, and the ability to change from a ballad to a fun pop song.
