  “Then we can think about it later,” she said. “More seriously, I mean.” For now, she really just wanted to be with him. They didn’t have much of a chance to be alone together, although she thought that it would happen with increasing frequency the longer Cloud was away. “For now, let’s just be together. I think we’ve earned it.”

“Alright,” he agreed, not wanting to press the subject further. He was quite content to just spend time with Namine, even if it was just them doing nothing. They’d been on enough adventures anyway. “Wanna go for a walk or something?”

  “That’s as good as an excuse as any!” she laughed. “We’re lucky we got such a good spot with the fireworks starting soon.” The sun was almost completely set by now. “Have you seen a fireworks show before?”

“I don’t think so,” he said with uncertainty. There was always the chance that he had seen one he just simply didn’t remember. “Do you think it’ll be very long?” Since he hadn’t seen one, he really didn’t know what to expect.

  Marluxia chuckled. “Then you have two options: become faster, or taller~” His teasing tone was reflected in his eyes as he took another bite of the warm chocolate-chip cookie he was using to tease Ventus with.

“Three,” he argued. “I could learn how to bake my own cookies.” He crossed his arms defiantly. How unfair to use this as another opportunity to pick on his perpetual shortness. Someday he’d catch up.

  “I know, but being apart…” It was no picnic. She sat down next to him and leaned against his side. “Well, we’re together again so it doesn’t matter anymore.” Naminé kissed his cheek, grateful that they were together again.

“I hope the fireworks will be great! I’ve never been to a fireworks show before. It’s like a celebration, don’t you think?”

He settled into a comfortable position, placing one arm behind her for support. “Yeah, I’m really sorry about that,” he said sadly. “But it won’t happen again. Not if I can help it.” He smiled and leaned into her just slightly, enjoying her warm presence.

“We can pretend it’s a celebration of our reunion,” he joked.

I GOT TETSUYA NOMURA ON THE PHONE AND HE SAYS A NEW WORLD HAS BEEN ADDED, CALLED “CANADIA.” IT’S NOT NECESSARILY A DISNEY WORLD BUT IT’S SO AMAZING MIGHT AS WELL BE. SORA GETS A NEW KEYBLADE CALLED THE “FOREVER SORRY” BLADE (OR THE EH?BLADE FOR SHORT) HE TOLD ME THERE’S GONNA BE HEARTLESS RESEMBLING BOWLS OF POUTINE, MOOSES, AND BEAVERS, AND SORA’S GONNA HAVE A NEW LIMIT CALLED “SLAPSHOT” WHERE HIS KEYBLADE TRANSFORMS INTO A STELLAR HOCKEY STICK AND HE ATTACKS WITH HOCKEY PUCKS.

  Naminé nearly dropped the blanket she was holding. “Flirt,” she teased, unraveling the blanket and tossing it out so she could try settling it on the ground. “But… well, it wouldn’t be home without you.”

Ven had a way of making her say things without even realizing he was doing it. Maybe it was just because she loved him. “I’m so happy to see you here, Ven… I thought… I thought I’d never see you again.” After somehow being pulled here with no explanation, she had been terrified she’d never see anyone she knew ever again.

He laughed as he helped place the blanket, not regretting his words one bit. Teasing her was the best, mostly because  he got to see that amazing smile. He’d missed it, for they were separated for far too long.

“You should have known I wouldn’t be gone forever,” he said kindly. “I’ll always find my way back to you. That was a promise.” He finished setting the blanket, and sat on his knees on the edge, waiting for her to sit.
