Adequacy in Blue | Lance & Steven

After weeks of unexplained stress and a whole lot of soul searching, by which I mean Lance losing himself in his work and neglecting many of the basic needs of a human person, the champion had been approached by a colleague to take a day off. He refused, then took the day, resting himself and returning early the following morning. Apparently, that colleague had decided he needed help.
When he returned to his office his papers were all askew, at least according to his own standards they were. As he set to reorganizing them, he had a knock on the door of his office, going to answer it, opening the door to find Steven in the frame of it.
âG-good morning,â he stammered. âWhat on earth brings you all the way out here?â
He waits patiently for Lance to answer the door, having received an alert from a colleague that Lance was at it again. It was time to intervene and whisk the other away from work; thatâs what he did best between managing his own duties within Devon and the League. So there he stood, greeting Lance with a quick and easy smile the second he saw Lance.Â
âOh donât mind me!â He waves off his question casually, though itâs fairly obvious why heâs there. âI just finished up with some business of my own and thought to come see you. Surly you can make time for me, Lance?â His smile almost turned coy, almost teasing the other man who was most certainly not expecting a visitor. âWe havenât seen one another in a little while, after all. I thought we could use this time to catch up!âÂ
Heâs not taking no for an answer, already looping his arm through Lanceâs own to pull him from his office. Heâs acting a little too impatient here and he knows it, not wanting to give Lance any chance for excuses or to dismiss him for his work. âItâll be good for you. I hear youâve been working day and night with little to no rest!â He chides him as he makes his way towards the front of the building. âWhat you need is a personal day to relax. How about shopping? You look like you could use a few new outfits.â Like Steven was one to talk. He always preferred his suits to much else.Â
