My grandfather died today, and not for the first time this week, I sat with my grief. I wore it like a blanket for a warm while and felt.
And that was all she asked of me.
More poetry coming your way soon!

What, if anything, do you do for inspiration?
I pull a great deal from my own well of emotional discord. I want my words to resonate, to fill in my chest when I speak them and vibrate when they come out of my fingertips.
Generally though, to activate the muses, I listen to music and try to pull a story from the sounds and the lyrics. Or I’ll consume media that is fact/science/history/news based and ask ‘what if’ questions.
Live your life, friend. I promise you have plenty of inspiration to draw from.

Shouldn’t that idea scare me more than staying? the one where I never become who I’m meant to be?

What is your favorite genre to write?
I really love writing emotionally traumatizing slow burn. Honestly, the genre doesn’t matter too much to me as long as it is character-driven. Can I write horror or a noir mystery? Probably not. But can I write some fantastic characters for those genres? Yes.
Character interactions are more important to me than plot.

A kiss is a religious experience. To deny that with something false, lips dispassionately pressed against lips, sacrilege.

Is it a trick of fate when spellcheck corrects the slurry of letters I type into your name? I would think so... if it didn’t make me feel foolish for hoping.

In the End
when you feel like shit don’t let it bring you so low you forget to grow out of the skin you’re struggling in
that’s the reason you’re stuck not wanting to give a fuck but you do because you care and these days that’s hella rare because it’s so much easier not to. but that’s not you because you do, give a fuck, and it’s never been about luck. it’s been about passion and having compassion for yourself, for your soul and not letting that beauty go to ruin before your very eyes lest you can only criticize who you are to everyone around you.
so before you spend another minute bringing yourself down, you better legit take a second and breathe, friend because it’ll all be okay in the end.
