Good morning, folks! Before I start my workout, I thought I'd give you a little bit of advice. On this journey, I am realizing the value of my self worth. Self worth is so important. It is essential of truly being happy in this world. If you don't love yourself, who will? If you don't think much of yourself, why should anyone think much of you? Love originates and generates from within. See, if you don't take the time to get to know and value the person on the inside, how can you truly love someone else? Love starts with you! Love will continue to grow if you continue to love you. Loving yourself is a journey and for some, it does not COME naturally.
When you don't think much of yourself, you will allow anyone to treat you any which way they choose. I was guilty of subjecting to myself to a wealth of dangerous ass people due to my lack of self esteem. I hated myself for believing that being unhappy was better than being alone.Â
Boy, WAS I A FOOL!
Upon starting this journey, I cut out all of those toxic people out of my life. Every last of them! They were hindering me and enabling me to fall deeper in my self hate! I thought expelling those people out of my life would have been one of the the hardest things for me to do. Without those people, I just knew I'd be alone. Well, I was wrong! It was one of the easiest things that I did for myself! I finally feel FREE!
My advice to you all is to LOVE yourself first! Happiness starts from within; you have to love you before you can transmit love to anyone else. Also remember, if your inner voice resounds that you deserve better, listen to it!Â
Love yourself everyday! You are worth it! Now off to this workout!

Candice NelsonâŠwhat an amazing talentâŠA woman who accomplished so much yet we know so little about.
I have been dying to find out more about one of my favorite songwriters, Candice Nelson. Yes, if you googled her, her extensive catalog will pop up, no doubt about that. However, I know that thereâs more to her than just her talent and career. Since I first found out who she was, I was instantly intrigued and I wanted to know more.Â
I was first introduced to Candice by a friend at the time, Joseph (@st_elgin). Joseph, a major Brandy fan, introduced Brandyâs work to me and through him I eventually became a big fan of hers as well. Through being a fan of Brandyâs, I then became a big fan of Candice! Afrodisiac was one of the first pieces of Brandyâs catalog that Joseph introduced me to and when I listened to that album, I had learned who Candice Nelson was. If you didnât know, Candice wrote most of what you hear on the Brandyâs Afrodisiac Album. Check the writing credits, people!
During the time period 2007-2008ish, I knew nothing about songwriters, demos , backgrounds, or anything of that nature. I just knew I had a natural knack for singing and that I could sing well. Joseph taught me the âbehind the scenesâ mumbo jumbo. The âbehind the scenesâ process of how music was made was a whole different realm to me and to be honest it intrigued me. So intrigued, that I, myself, started a career as a songwriter. So itâs definitely safe to say that through Joseph, I discovered my talent for songwriting and someone who served as one of my inspirations, Candice.
Candice Nelson was born and raised in California. Before she stepped foot in the vast world of songwriting and demoing, she worked as a backup singer for 90âs boy group, Immature. After her brief stint with Immature, she was discovered by Walter Millsap III ( a powerhouse producer/writer/creator. He can do it all). The pair began to create amazing music together and through him she was able to network to find even more work. She was wrote tracks for the likings of LL Cool J, Jennifer Lopez, John Doe, Brandy, Kiley Dean, Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Yolanda Adams, Kelly Price and many more. Â
By the way, I must add that I find it absolutely amazing that her career has spanned a whopping 16 years. In a shifty industry like the music industry, where things are constantly shifting and evolving, her ability to adapt blatantly stood the test of time. She manages to stay fresh and relevant to this day. Sheâs like the energizer bunny; Candice cannot be stopped.
A few years later, Candice, Keri Hilson, Balewa Muhammad, J. Que and Ezekiel Lewis formed a writing group called the â The Clutchâ. The Clutch went on and wrote some amazing songs such as âTake Me as I amâ by Mary J. Blige, âIce Boxâ by Omarion, âLike a Boyâ By Ciara and âRadarâ by Britney Spears.
 I also know that Candice is amazing as what she does. In order to be a good songwriter, one must be a great story tellerâŠand Ms. Nelson tells a great story. One of my favorite songs that she has written has to be Heâll Be Back by Jennifer Lopez. I am sure everyone whoâs suffered from a break up can relate to this song. Plus you hear a lot of Candice in the backgrounds and the chorus. Did I mention that Candiceâs backgrounds are always snatched!? Lol they are so flawless and clean!
I am aware that Candice Nelson and Walter Millsap III are the masterminds behind popular boy band, Mindless Behavior. She serves as their main songwriter and vocal producer.

 The Interview
1) How did you know that music was your calling?
"I always loved music because it felt great to me. I started singing along to the music I loved, and that felt great also, but Iâd have to say that when I took notice of other people giving a positive response to my performances (big or small), I kinda felt like I might be on to something."
2) What initially inspired your to pursue a career in music?
"Mary J. Blige. Period. She hit the scene when she was young, she was singing her heart out, and she was fly while she did it. I remember thinking âMan sheâs fresh! I wanna be like her!â
3) Did you initially want to be a songwriter? You ever wanted to be an Artist?
"I wanted to be an artist first. Songwriting came by accident."
4) What personal struggles did you face while on your journey? Did you ever want to quit? If so, what made you decide against it?
"Iâve found it difficult to move in and out of situations with different collaborators who give off different energy. I learned that just because you might be dope and someone else is dope, that doesnât mean youâll do dope work together. Iâve wanted to quit several times. I think the only reason I havenât is that I feel this pull. Iâm drawn to it. It has been taxing, but it has also been extremely rewarding."
5) Was there ever a time where you thought you was wasting your time with music?
"Truthfully, yes. In the beginning of this journey, I had doubts. Seemed like it would take forever to âget onâ. I grew impatient often, but I had good people around to remind me to stay patient, focused, and praying."
6) As a California Native, what are some of things you enjoy most about your hometown and some of the things you donât enjoy?
"I love L.A. for the weather, the burgers, and the beaches. Iâd have to say I donât go for the trafficâŠat ALL. Donât dig the parking situation in certain parts of L.A., and it bothers me that there arenât any drive-in theaters nearby!"
7) I remember you mentioning something called Penguin Music Publishing? Am I saying that correct? What inspired you to start it?
"Mint Penguin isâŠdormant, if you will. For now. I just changed my mind about signing talent. Now is not the time."
8) How difficult was the move to Atlanta from California? Were you ever worried leaving your family behind to follow your dreams?
"The move to Atlanta wasnât difficult. It was a blur. It wasnât until Iâd been there a few months that it dawned on me that I left my entire support system behind. Family, friends, and a network. Couldâve been a good thing, and in some ways it was, but it was definitely not easy. I did what I had to do, though. My family respected that, and I love them even more for it."
9) How hard was it to get adjusted to Atlanta? How does Atlanta differ from California?
"I didnât ever really adjust. LOL! I met some amazing people, and did some cool stuff, but it never felt like a natural fit for me. I think itâs because my family wasnât there, and it doesnât matter where I go, or who I meet: there is no substitute for my family. Atlanta was greener, and people just have more SPACE! I loved both these things about ATL. Los Angeles is pretty much the oppositeâŠat least where Iâm from."
10) How hard is to balance your personal life with your hectic work schedule? What are some things that you do to help separate your personal life from your professional life?
"Huh? (clears throat) Oh. Well, my personal life DOES NOT overlap my professional life very much. I probably have like 3 friends in the music business that I know would be friends no matter what happens in either of our careers. I think I do a pretty good job of keeping my lives separate."
11) Where do you see yourself professionally and personally in 5 years? 10 years?
"I have no clue. I have a few ideas, but there are 2 things Iâve never been one to do. The first is to celebrate a success for too long, and the second is trying to see too far up ahead. I just know that I still love making music with some folks and that I change my mind all the time. LOL! I do hope to find more inspiration, and keep making music that I love."

Terrivio, who was personally selected by LaHelle herself to voice Dionne Warwickâs character, dishes with Dagaspchamber about his enriching experience on Got 2B Real. He talks about the creation process for his jokes, the nature of his relationships with the cast members of the show, and more!
The Duval County Native also bares a candid side of himself by sharing his personal experience on growing up multiracial and many other experiences that shaped him into the amazing and talented person that he is today.
Terrivio, a navy reserve officer, not only wants to explore voice acting/acting further but also make impact on in the Health Service and Administration Field. Soon he will be receiving his bachelorâs degree at the University of North Florida with hopes to attend graduate school at Georgia State.

Created by Patti LaHelle, Got 2B Real has taken the net by storm with its outrageous wit and clever shade. The show parodies the larger-than-life personas of the old- and new-school divas of the music industry and how they fare in the hilarious situations LaHelle places them in.
The handsome actor and model graciously opened up and shared his journey with me. From bursting out of his small hometown to achieving his dreams in L.A. to how he landed the role on Got 2B Real, Jamaal D. Pittman reveals it all!
In this insightful and revealing interview, Jamaal dishes about how he comes up with the material that he uses for the voice of Whitney and his relationships with his fellow cast members. Did you know that he and Terrivio (the voice of Dionne Warwick on the show) hit it off instantly and became really close friends? Jamaal not only dishes about his relationship with Terrivio but he also candidly opens up about his experiences growing up in North Carolina, discovering his passion for acting and modeling, and his insight on relationships, adjusting to L.A. life and important life lessons.
