“Stevie Nicks surrounds herself with girls. Wherever she goes, she brings girls. “I can’t imagine you in a bathing suit,” someone says in an interview for Rolling Stone, when Stevie says she likes to play in the pool in her backyard. “Yeah, well, you never will,” Stevie says. “And there is never — ever — a man in the backyard. If there is, he is banished to the front of the house.” Men don’t get to look at Stevie Nicks unless Stevie Nicks wants men to look at Stevie Nicks.”

i think about this every day of my life

im so mad bc “atlas shrugged” is such a raw fucking title. thats an EXCELLENT name for a book. a man holding the weight of the entire world on his shoulders is so moved by his disdain for the current state of things that he exerts the force to shrug. indifference to the nth degree. that’s fucking metal. then you read it and it’s just about hating poor people.
“Somewhere I had lost someone– so dear or so great or so fine that I never cared again: as if time dimmed, and color and sound were gone.”
— William Stafford, from “Looking Across the River,” The Darkness Around Us Is Deep: Selected Poems, ed. Robert Bly (HarperPerenial, 1993)
“And just because we know how the story goes doesn’t mean I won’t say the words.”
— Cam Awkward-Rich, "Vagina Monologue"
“If history says anything, If it says anything at all, It is this: All women know how to do is burn. If her story says anything— And it says everything— We girls have been raised to walk through the fire.”
— Salma Deera, “The Burning Ones,” The Burning Ones (via rhaegartargaryen)
ANTI-BARFING SPIKES.
This is why they have such a problem with plastic bags. It’s because the unique structure of their esophagus makes it so that they can’t get rid of them.
