The anticipation of the sun and the sea was a tangible thing, a buzzing energy that coursed through her veins as she practically skipped through the airport. "Finally," she sighed, tugging at the hem of her dress, just a little bit.
Then, the polite tap on her shoulder and the words: “Ma’am, we need to ask you a few questions," broke the spell. The security officer's face was as unyielding as the airport floor, and she felt a prickle of unease as they led her to a small, windowless room. She placed her suitcase on the table, "Everything is in order, right?" she asked, trying to maintain a casual tone, but she already knew that it was not.
“Routine check, ma’am,” the officer stated, his gaze unwavering as he began to unzip her luggage. The contents of her suitcase spilled out, not bikinis and suntan lotion, but a mountain of brightly colored, cartoon-emblazoned diapers. "What's all this?" the officer asked, his tone shifting to one of perplexed curiosity. She flushed, her carefully curated image of a carefree vacationer dissolving before her very eyes. "Oh, uh, those?" she stammered, "those are… for my… uh… medical condition!”
The officer raised an eyebrow. “Medical condition?” he repeated, his voice laced with a mix of skepticism and barely contained amusement. “Yes!” she said, desperately trying to maintain some dignity “It's, uh, a really bad case of… uh… needing a lot of diapers, like really absorbent ones.” Her cheeks flushed red, a color that now matched her dress.
She could see the snickers from the corner of her eye, the airport security looking like they were about to burst out in laughter. “I can explain!" she said. She could see their doubts as clearly as her soaked undergarments. That’s when she decided, she’d had enough. She lifted her red sundress slightly, revealing a diaper peeking out from underneath. "Happy now?" she said, her tone a mixture of defiance and surrender.
She grabbed her suitcase and continued walking as if nothing had happened. "Look, you can keep asking me questions and keep looking into my stuff. But I have a flight to catch!” She was determined to make her vacation memorable, even if that meant giving a show to the airport security. She walked with her head held high, the crinkling sound of her diaper a soundtrack to her rebellious stride. “I hope they sell my brand at the duty free”, she said with a smirk.
