The menu for today is a bit of Vanity Fair by William Thackeray, Pineapple-Acai herbal tea. Of course, I have Oscar Wildes A Picture of Dorian Gray tucked away in my bedroom for nightly reading. As a self-proclaimed aesthete, I am trying to real more books on beauty as a philosophy. One of my part-time hobbies for the past several years is perfumery. When I say I have heavy sensual, perhaps even venusian influence in my life, its completely written into the fibers of my being, a genetic memory. I am sure I must have had some great-grandmother or aunt who must have been like me. I have 600 years of royal blood after all, but it is not much use when I do not have actual written history I can reference. It's tragic that the lived experience of my foremothers are all memories now. I do have fond memories and a refence of my grandmother who raise me until my teens in the USA. She soaked all her home-dresses in luxurious oud perfumes and was a glamour-house.

I did such a weird process for this one. I painted the background in gouache, and did the character in ink. Then I printed them onto transparent sheets & did painting overtop/underneath. It was so much fun - definitely want to experiment with this more!
