“If you keep smiling at me like that, I don’t think I’ll ever stop being red.” Ahura mentioned blushing madly as he grinned at Marcos.
“well i guess i wouldn’t be mad about that.” he said with a soft chuckle.

Douglass actually smirked at the professor’s comment. It was true, but the next one was not, at least not in Doug’s mind. “This is one does. To me, it matters. I don’t care about any other distinguisher, race, gender, creed, go right on ahead. What I do care about is whether or not you honor the-” Douglass paused. He was raising his voice and betraying his general, cool exterior. He glanced around the room and lowered his voice, fixing his eyes on the Professor again. “ What I care about is there the mutants being murdered in cold blood and some of this kids are blindly follow Xavier who thinks the answer is to lay low and stay segregated and maybe humans will accept us ,” he spit in rapid-fire Spanish. Douglass slumped back in his chair. “Well, it never worked before and it won’t work now.”
“i know that it is an important topic and everyone has different opinions on it but douglass you can’t let it effect your school life.” he said to the boy. “sure there are people in this class that don’t share your opinion but that doesn’t matter, its your opinion and you’re allowed to think it just like they are allowed to have theres.”

“I think I’m fine, Diaz,” Quentin said flippantly. “But since you asked so nicely, maybe I’ll stay.”
Not content to simply follow directions and do as he was told without trouble, Quentin decided he’d piss the teacher off. If Professor Diaz thought he could boss him around… Well. He’d see about that.
“However -“ Quentin paused for dramatic effect as he used his telekinesis to tear the book he had been given in two - “I’ll be needing a new book.”
marcos tried so hard not so roll his eyes when the boy in front of him ripped the book in two. “right well thats detention for you for a week –– carry on and things will only get worse for you.”
iamxlegion :
A heavy sigh passes David’s lips. “I’m-…” he starts to say, running his hand over his face in frustration. He should tell Marcos that he can’t get a hold on it, because he isn’t even sure what’s been happening, or how long he’s even been there - but he’s caught between doing what he knows is the right thing and being sick and tired of the tests Doctor McCoy has been doing since the attack. So he throws himself back down in the seat, even though all he wants to do is go back to his room. “Fine…If you want to waste your time,” he says, waving towards the book in front of him.
“if you leave this room today feeling even the tiniest bit better then my time wouldn’t have been wasted.” marcos stated before leaning on his desk and looking over at david. “when i first got my powers i didn’t know how to turn them on of off, one minute there would be nothing and then my hands would be shining brighter than the sun – i couldn’t control it for years.” marcos said as he looked down at his hands. “but then i learnt to focus, i picked something to do that my power would be useful in, so i started building things, using my light to weld things shut or cut things. it distracted me and taught me how to slowly control it.”
petrosing :
“I think about myself enough,” he said with a smile, finally. “Nothings going on. Apart from the shitfest happening with fighting, I actually think I’m better than I have been in the past. Sure I hate my roommate, it’s hard being intimate with someone else, and there’s an imminent threat of danger. But I’ve been working on my powers… I have a job, a paycheck, I’ve almost finished buying my car from Xavier! I feel like I’m okay, teach.”
Dominic let his eyes drop for a moment. Had Mr. Diaz always been so attractive. Ugh, just another thing to worry about, he thought to himself. “I just… I feel like I got a new brother. Someone better than my own living blood. I’m not going to do wrong by him. I will let my grades fall for him. He needs more help than I do. I’ve spent years watching my own back, it’s time I do right for someone else.” Dominic started packing up his paperwork in his backpack. “I can ask Mol for help, she loves seeing my pretty face. And while that may turn into a hangout over study sesh… at least I tried, right, Diaz?”
He put a hand on Marcos’ hand sitting on the desk. “Now tell me. Do you need to talk to anyone at the moment? I am all ears.”
“and its great that you’ve been doing that, working on your powers and working for real – i’m proud of you for that dominic but one thing that i’ve learnt is that danger always lurks, especially with us, we are different from the rest of the world so there will always be a target on us but we can’t let us stop that fear stop us from anything.” marcos stated. “who’s your roommate?” the man asked softly.
the man smiled at the other. “dominic if i was your little brother i would be so happy and proud to have someone like you, you’re taking care of him and providing for him even when you don’t have to, that shows responsibility and that you care.” marcos stated. “molly is a great student but don’t forget that my door is always open, whether its for spanish or if you just want to talk.”
marcos chuckled before shaking his head. “i’m the one thats supposed to be helping you, remember.”
youknow-cypher :
Douglass caught the eye-roll but said nothing at the risk of getting a detention and having to spend more time in class. “Look around, Senor. Most of these fresas are Xavier lovers, and that means we disagree on fundamental beliefs that I cannot let slide. “ He shrugged. “And I’m told I can have a bit of an attitude problem with folks I disagree with.”
“a bit of an attitude problem is probably an understatement.” the man said as he sat up straight. “it doesn’t matter what your believes or views are, you don’t have to share someones opinion in order to be friends with them.”
ofahuraism :
“So, um when would you like this coffee? Now is good to me, but like any moment would be good. Sorry, I’m not usually this nervous.”
“well yeah i’m free now.” he said with a soft smile. “its cute, you being nervous.”
jubilxtion-lee :
She appreciate the professor’s efforts but she just let out another dramatic sigh. “Just let it be, prof. What’s the saying? C’est la vie?”
the man chuckles slightly before shaking his head. “well that is french not spanish so you might need to try a little harder.” he said before repeating her phrase but in his language. “es la vida.”
petrosing :
Dom scrunched up his face in confusion. “Myself first? I do, teach. I have my whole life. I raised myself, I can handle… school,” he scoffed, but realized there was some merit to Marcos’ advice. He loved Theo and he wouldn’t let anything happen to the kid, and Dom would feel guilty if he gave the boy space (meanwhile he knew Theo would thrive in it), but… maybe his feelings of protectiveness weren’t healthy.
He immediately shook his head. “No. I’m not distracted. It’s fine. I’m fine.” He wasn’t going to feel guilty for caring about others. “I can pass Spanish, Mr. Diaz. I will. I think I just… need to make flash cards or something.”
The last thing Dominic wanted was to push Theo away. He wouldn’t let that boy out of his sight. One of the things he learned from his mother was that family was important enough to compromise other aspects of your life. It was temporary, he’d told himself. I won’t always be this distracted, and Theo’s worth it. If anyone, Theo needs me. And I probably need him. “I’ll work harder, teach. I just… I don’t know this word here.” He pointed to a noun on the paper. It looked alien to him. Most words had a commonality since English and Spanish were derived from Latin (like pinguino), but when he looked down, only half of the paper was readable. Looks like he needed yet another fucking tutor.
“you may have your whole life but living in the now is the most important thing. you can’t constantly be thinking about or planning the future because life might not pan out the way that you want it to.” marcos said to the boy. spanish class was the last thing on his mind at this point. he wanted dominic to feel like he could open up to him. marcos didn’t want to be that teacher that no one liked, he wanted to get to know his students and connect with them.
“dominic you know that you CAN talk to me, whatever is going on.” marcos reminded the boy. he could still see that dominic was hiding something but the last thing that he wanted to do was pry.
marcos nodded as he looked down at his hands. “and i believe that you will just make sure you take enough time to think about yourself.”
petrosing :
Dominic heeded the man’s words and pushed the piece of paper to the opposite side of the desk. “English,” he said with a heavy smile. “Guess ya don’t want me passing your class, I should take Spanish 1 again in the Spring.” The joke didn’t give any effect on the professor’s face, so Dom ended up sighing. “It’s just life. I promise, teach. Taking things one day at a time. Just relationships is all. I can handle it. I’ve lasted this long.”
“i would much rather you put yourself first – deal with whatever is bothering you that way you aren’t distracted and can pass my class.”
youknow-cypher :
Oh no. Once Diaz turned his full attention to Douglass, the boy’s fight-or-flight instincts kicked in strong and he flinched very briefly. He took a sigh of relief when Diaz asked his question and didn’t instead do that crazy light thing. “I’ve helped Quentin. Kind of. He’s a telepath so he just needs to read my mind. But other than that, I’m not a tutor, especially to a class where half of these cretins don’t like me anyway. Pretty sure they don’t, at least I don’t care for them.”
“you can’t just let quentin get into your head that isn’t going to help.” marcos stated as he rolled his eyes slightly. “no one in the class hates you – why do you think that they would ?”
ofahuraism :
“So, uh I’ve never really done this. I’m Ahura and would you like to grab a cup of coffee sometime?”
“uhh –– sure, i’m not one to say no to a pretty face, or coffee.”

petrosing :
Dominic slumped in his desk, annoyed that the teacher didn’t let them take a break. “I’m better at reading than listening,” he grumbled under his breath. He sighed, knowing he was being difficult (even before Professor Diaz commented on his dramatic actions). “I’m trying to pay attention,” he said softly, looking down at his paper in feign study. He wasn’t going to talk about his lack of a good night’s sleep due to the attacks on the school growing in frequency. He wasn’t going to talk about his secret boyfriend and adopted son brother that kept his mind in a whir, thus his inability to concentrate. He wasn’t going to complain about everything that was on his mind, all his worries, so he looked at the words on the paper, a sort of study guide sitting in front of him.
“Escucho la campana,” he said (in white-boy) as he wrote down a sentence on a short-answer question designating him to use a sentence for each of the above words (a mixture of verbs and nouns). “Voy… a la… escuelo,” he said/wrote for his next sentence after a brief pause. “This is the longest sentence you’re getting, Professor D,” he complained down at his chicken-scratch. He was annoyed that, for the most part, if he took a second to think about the word and try to remember where he’d heard it from, he could usually recall a translation. Of course he kept reverting back to English and having to translate everything in his mind, but his goal wasn’t to become bilingual, it was to pass a class for his requirements to stay enrolled.
marcos could see that the boy was struggling which made him worry slightly because the student sitting in front of him could had done what he was asking before. “whats going on dominic ??” marcos asked as he sat up straight in his chair and leant forward slightly. “i understand that things have been pretty crazy lately – so know that you can talk to me.”
the man held his hand up before shaking his head. “no more spanish for today –– lets stick to english for now, something is clearly bothering you and i’d rather not add more stress.”
wanda raised an eyebrow, she wasn’t AGAINST her powers as much as she was UNSURE of them and their limits. a RED ENERGY– hex bolt, enveloped her hands as she levitated her book. “ chaos magic… reality warping… “ she said as the book landed in her hands. “ and– probability. but it works for warmth sometimes, “ the energy faded into nothingness as quickly as it had formed.
the man smiled as she showed him what she could do. “thats beautiful.” marcos stated as he watched the red energy move around her hands and the book before taking a seat next to her.

David wasn’t even sure how he had ended up in the classroom and that confused him more than anything else - even more so than the Spanish words that had just been said to him. “You don’t know how hard it is for me to actually do that,’ he replied in response, gathering up the items before him on the desk. The last time he had black outs like this was with the Shadow King, but he was gone - so how was it even possible for him to forget everything up until this moment. “I actually forgot I had something else to do right now…”
“david –– sit down.” marcos said as he stood up from his chair and walked over to the other. “control isn’t something easy –– you aren’t the only one that struggles with it. sure, some peoples powers are harder to but we can all eventually get a hold on it.”

Lorna looked at the teacher with eyes that were basically flashing with irritability. “No shit, I can do it,” she snapped. Do you know who’s daughter I am? she wanted to say, but she held her tongue. She quickly pulled the basketball hoop right out of the ground, causing the pavement around it to crack. She looked at Marcos, the hoop still suspended in the air.
marcos rolled his eyes as she girl pulled the hoop out of the ground. “right –– when you decide to stop throwing a tantrum we can get back to the lesson.”
