it’s been far too long since he last felt the actual warmth of the sun without the fear of potentially being shanked by a fellow inmate or taken further into the very pits of hell that was rockfort. not that the feeling went entirely away but with claire’s presence and the distraction of building sandcastles—it’s keeping him from breaking down entirely.
