It was foolish to call a Redfield's bluff assuming action wouldn't follow. The attempt alone was indignant of how far Kennedy had fallen. And in regards to Claire Redfield── her word was absolute, the same like her older brother. When confronted at the bar; calling his whereabouts a 'vacation' omitted a gaping truth unknown to only Rebecca. Omissions that coated an already frustrating situation with an extra layer of ire. While Leon knew Chris's anger was justified he couldn't help but pitch the attitude ── grief and alcohol had its hands on the wheel for a while now . . . ❝ Mind letting me crash on your couch tonight── .ᐣ ❞ The blonde sighs. It wasn't as if Leon couldn't break into his own home── he knew where spare keys were likely hidden── the access through the crawlspace ── and how to wedge the faulty backdoor just right to open. It wasn't some impossible feat; but breaking a boundary was. Leon understood why this was happening and why it's deserved. Off all the faults leading him astray, his love for Claire never wavered. Which is why he doesn't bother nor consider to bargain Chris to advocate for his leniency.
