Do you ever work really hard on a piece of art, with all its minor details, and getting the strokes and tones just right, knowing Tumblr is going to immediately lower the quality as soon as you drop it into a post and make it look grainy and like garbage and like you don’t know what you’re doing? Because same. :)

How do you measure, measure a year?

This is the post of the year where I get to be sappy about drawing for a year. I’ve done a lot of art this year (just look at this blog lol) and it’s all been a learning process. On the last day of 2018 I posted the first piece and thought it was the best piece I might do. How much a year can change your style. I’ve tried many more brushes on Procreate, learned more about shading and coloring, tried more characters, and worked on some old favorites.

For my last piece of 2019, I wanted to do a similar style to the one from exactly a year ago, to see the change. It’s surprising to me to look at them side by side, especially when I draw so much.

Thank you to all the friends who have supported my art journey this year 💜

And a fitting quote to end the year, “you live you learn, you love you learn, you cry you learn, you lose you learn,”
