OKAY SO I've been stupidly busy with work (retail + christmas season aaaa) and NaNoWriMo, but I promise my blog will be back, all squeaky clean and new, by the end of November! Hopefully sooner! I'm sorry it's taken so long, I'm.............. the worst.

It’s my birthday still for another 30 minutes.

I’m in the process of moving Brigid to a new blog !! Even tho she’s less than a year old, I think it’s necessary due to a handful of things in order for me to keep her muse. And I really don’t wanna lose her. I don’t know when this will be done, but I will post a redirect when it is. I’m still here for IMs and messages, but otherwise will be on a hiatus. Love you all! Hopefully you’ll be patient enough to wait for me.

FAVOURITE MUSE(S) YOU’VE WRITTEN: I definitely love Brigid. I also wrote Belle for 5+ years so... that’s a good sign! Also, muses I don’t have any more but loved... definitely La Muerte from the Book of Life.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO TAKE ON YOUR CURRENT MUSE ( THAT YOU ARE POSTING THIS ON ): Honestly? I’ve loved Bioshock for a long time--- it was one of the first games really introduced to me and it had this great element of... I guess science to it that I loved. Brigid was just the culmination of that. I loved her passion, and the fact that we got to hear her through the audio diaries go through such a notable transformation.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE ASPECTS OF YOUR CURRENT MUSE: She’s so smart, and she really didn’t give two shits what men thought of her. She was so unforgivably cruel, which isn’t good, but is really something... new to write to me, and I love it.

WHAT’S YOUR BIGGEST INSPIRATION WHEN IT COMES TO WRITING: I can’t really say that I have one... but when it comes to writing Brigid specifically, the right ( write? ahahaa stop me please ) music goes a long way.

FAVOURITE TYPES OF THREADS: Dramatic threads. I love fluff and filler but I really love the dark, nitty gritty sort of stuff I get to write in this fandom. I love dark things, anything set post-Fall is great.

BIGGEST STRUGGLE IN REGARDS TO YOUR CURRENT MUSE: i dunno. i don’t feel experienced enough in romance to write it properly; and i often feel that i value aesthetics over actual descriptors. idk. sometimes her muse just doesn’t speak at all and she takes forever to work w/ me so i can get inbox stuff done.

Because I mention that I take some inspiration from the Bioshock: Rapture novel, I’m going to outline the things that I include and some things that I pointedly do not.

I INCLUDE:

that Brigid worked for Sinclair Solutions before Fontaine Futuristics, and was fired from this position due to her questionable practices and one particular incident involving semen extraction of a volunteer.

that Brigid and Frank Fontaine engaged in a sexual relationship. If you haven’t noticed by now that this is implied on this blog, you… you haven’t been paying attention.

Brigid not knowing about W-Y-K. It’s heavily implied in the game, but never outright stated as it is the novel. That’s why it makes this list.

Following the raid on Fontaine Futuristics, the Little Sister’s orphanage was investigated and Suchong and Tenenbaum were put under house arrest. This is when Ryan hires the pair.

I DON’T INCLUDE:

Brigid ever having her own lab in Rapture, that according to the book was shut due to her involvement with Mengele’s experimentations in the camps.

Brigid working on the Big Daddy’s– at least knowingly. It’s implied in the novel and makes no sense within the parameters of canon to me. I am willing to bend this one for threads / plots but default to her not having worked on them.

Brigid coming up with the names for ADAM and EVE. Okay, I know this is such a minor thing but do you really expect me to believe she was that witty? Or blatantly flipping of Ryan? Nah, that was Fontaine all the way.

Suchong and Tenenbaum’s horrifying living flesh blob. If you haven’t read the novel and don’t know what I’m talking about, GOOD.

Brigid working on the Little Sister / Big Daddy bonding. This is another thing that just doesn’t make that much sense to me.This is another one I’m willing to bend for threads / plots but will ignore by default.

Anything having to do with her father that is present in the book. I don’t even have a good explanation; I just don’t like the way the novel depicted the timelines of when her father was taken and how that all came to pass.
