My rabbit has been rubbing her chin on things really hard whenever she’s out of her cage, like the area above her dewlap but below her head. It doesn’t look like she has an injury there or anything, but she doesn’t like to be touched a lot, so I can’t get a closer look. Do you think this indicates anything bad?
She’s just fine! This is a perfectly normal behavior called chinning. Rabbits have a scent gland under her chin and use it to mark their territory. Even fixed rabbits will do this, but not as frequently as those who haven’t been fixed yet.
