Growing Beyond Borders: The IMEXSA Journey
Since 2024, Digging Thoughts has proudly travelled alongside IMEXSA, and the experience has become one of the most valuable investments in our company's growth. Every international mission has taught us far more than business—it has strengthened our understanding of financial sustainability, global networking, cultural exchange, and the importance of participating in world-class creative conferences.
Through IMEXSA, we have travelled to the United Arab Emirates, Amsterdam for IBC and the Fridge Stage Concert Conference, France for MIPCOM and MaMA Festival, and most recently the United Kingdom for SXSW London. Every journey has expanded our perspective, allowing us to build meaningful relationships, exchange ideas, and engage in conversations that continue long after the events have ended.
These experiences are directly shaping the future of our work. Black Noise Prophecy by Sun Xa Experiment and Recording Time by Digging Thoughts have both grown through international connections and creative dialogue. At the same time, The Basement Radio has begun developing exciting relationships in the United Kingdom, laying the groundwork for collaborations and opportunities we hope to realise in 2027.
One of the greatest lessons from travelling with IMEXSA is the power of collaboration. As independent South African companies, we succeed when we move together, support one another, and represent our creative industries as a united force. As Digging Thoughts prepares to celebrate 13 years next year, our vision remains clear: to build a global touring network for Sun Xa Experiment, expand Recording Time internationally, strengthen The Basement Radio, and continue creating meaningful partnerships through IMEXSA.
