Hey, dunno if you even check this but ehhh. I was wondering how you go about breaking down a video into clips for an edit? Like you take some 30 minute interview and then how do you go about finding the parts that are the most visually interesting? How do you stop from marking too many things as interesting?

honestly i always gather too many clips than needed!! how i usually edit if i don't already have a plan laid out is i just go through whatever video im editing, find any section of it that both looks good and has enough movement in it. i'll usually have a good handful of clips to use and then from there i arrange them to see which clip suits each section.

i think also having a big group of clips to use, even if you don't use all of them, helps with future edits as well. if i didn't use something but really liked how it looked then i can just use it for my next edit. think of it like making a big scenepack for you to go through
