Question of the Week
A) I haven't done a lot of planning on my final project since I've been mainly working on my fictional piece.
Question of the Week April 28 - May 2
I would get shots of the student walking or taking the bus to school. A camera would be mounted at face level, to get the impression of actually being the person and not actually above everyone else. There would be close up shots of homework, notes, writing, and things students do everyday like sleep in class.
Question of the Week (April 21 - 25)
To begin, I want to say that I flat out hate Ithaca. It's not because of the weather or the people that live in Ithaca, it's more of the location and the fact that it's in New York. Or maybe it is the people that live in this city. There are way too many liberals in this city that don't know what it means to be a liberal and Ithaca is way to "Ithaca" for my taste. IHS is great, however. The high school is more culturally diverse than many other schools and there are many different views in the school, which is nice.
Question of the Week April 4
Right now I am not having any problems with my piece. The script is done and I just need to record it. My next piece will probably be a summary of our tour to Mexico City, but I will need some help in terms of someone doing things like camera work and interviewing.
Question of the Week
What do YOU find inspiration from? What 3 locations, 3 works of art (movies, books, music) and 3 people, inspire you to be great, effective, productive, better?
Locations:
Ithaca College Whalen Center for Music, My room, and beaches.
Works of Art:
Any music that i play on piano or violin, youtube videos by Wong Fu Productions, and the book Three by Ted Dekker.
People:
Wong Fu Productions, My violin teacher, and my violin director.
Question of the Week
A) This piece was engaging/exciting because it was on a subject that was interesting to me.
B) My favorite moment was when they showed the Mexican marines leading Guzman away from the building. It was mainly just footage but it was still my favorite moment.
C) This piece was fairly effective at presenting a limited biography. It could have used more of a variety of B-roll footage, but overall it was effective.
Question of the Day (Feb. 3, 2014)
I have made speeches in government class and I also have made short video clips for a government assignment. For projects, I could be able to make a unique project that isn't like any original project with a poster and pictures. I could create a short video about a certain topic.
Question of the Day (Jan. 13, 2014)
I would interview commuters to see who they think is to blame and why they think it is closed. I would also interview the mayor to see if he knows anything about closing Rt. 13. I would also interview transportation managers to see how this would affect their bus schedules.
Question of the Day (Jan. 8, 2014)
I like tech directing/running the tech side in general. I'm also interested in anchoring.
Question of the Day (Jan. 2, 2014)
In the community, I admire the mayor and Mr. Drix.
I want to learn the secrets of success from Mr. Powers.
A good biography consists of life experiences and interesting things that happened during someone's life.
Question of the Day (Dec. 6, 2013)
A) Some topics that I would like to see addressed in the upcoming Dr. Brown shows would be the budget and the curriculum.
B) I would like to see some teachers from the school that don't know about this studio, maybe the Mayor, and other important people in the city.
Question of the Day(Dec. 2, 2013)
I've learned how to work the Blackstorm and the video board. I also learned how to get better at speaking and putting different inflections in my speech to make it more interesting. I kept playing around with the different equipment to get better at it and I took what Reiff said and put it into my scripts. I want to improve my communication/team work skills so that I can work better with others and not do everything myself. I plan on getting there by working with other people.
Question of the Day (Nov. 7, 2013)
Two things I enjoyed the most from our first full production was seeing all the segments for the first time and working with the other people in the control room, Two things I could improve on would be to communicate what to do to the other people better and to look at the sheet with the different shots before hand.
Something that would be helpful for me would be to have the camera shot sheet sometime before we start recording, instead of right before we start.
Question of the Day (Nov. 4, 2013)
1) Three observations I drew from our dry-run was that we were very unorganized. As TD, we didn't know which cameras to switch to or what shots we wanted. The anchors knew what to do; however, the people working in the control room had no clue what was going on. Besides those, I thought that the run went okay but could have gone better.
2) Make sure that we have different screen arrangements pre-saved in the Carbonite memory and that we know which shots to go to and when.
3) Right now, I don't have any questions.
Question of the Day (Oct. 22, 2013)
A) I need to start editing all the clips and put together my segment. I also need to continue working on the TV studio segment that Parker and I are working on. In addition, I need to get more B-roll for the club segment.
B) Shots of the machines, and the different things we do in Code Red.
Question of the Day (Oct. 21, 2013)
Three potential contacts I could use for my segment on how college apps are affecting seniors mentality and lives would be some seniors in the school to see how they are handling their college decisions and to see if they think they have changed. Teachers that have mainly all-senior classes, such as Mr. Drix, Gov teachers or English-12 teachers, to hear what they see in their senior students as the year progresses. A third potential contact would be a parent of a senior to see how they feel about college apps/decisions. I would contact all of these people either by talking to them in person or by email. I could contact students and a parent in person and i could contact teachers by email or in person.
Question of the Day (Oct. 17, 2013)
Three facts:
1) Estimated 24,000 individuals gaining public or private health care coverage in the Binghamton/Ithaca/Cortland Area.
2) March 2012, chamber of commerce received a grant funded by ACA, from the Community Services Society of New York to train three navigators. Important for small businesses to understand responsibility and mandate.
3) At least 4,000 people would become covered in Tompkins County
