Digital Futures Exhibition
I was astonished with users connection time with Space Oddity, visitors interaction engagement was lengthly, often creating more than one sound imaging collage at a time.
User feedback included; “The juxtaposition of non space related images whilst still remaining in theme was intriguing, I loved the randomised nature achieved.”
“I could see this project in HMV, a way to retain a connection with the physicality of music. Imagine having design booths in store, almost like customising your own trainers but with your favourite album covers!.”
My ambition for the exhibition and the option unit was to incorporate a subversive digital aspect into my practice.
Immersive chaotic sound imaging has given my practice an edge and created more risk taking methods to keep working with.
A learning curve taken from the exhibition is the need to test my code in a live environment at an earlier stage to resolve issues. During the exhibition I had minor issues with sound looping and displaying in full screen, which needed to be repaired on the day.
