Maya burning the Seven Sisters High emblem is mature content, Tumblr? Seriously? Really?!
playing persona 2 ep in your twenties and being able to relate to young adult characters that are similar to you just hits different… persona 6 let’s break the cycle of high school setting. atlus, you can do it
They'd have to want to, first. Male power fantasy, high school setting because the Japanese audience thinks of it as the best time of their lives and you don't have to work hard to think about how characters could meet or work with limited free time.....They're never gonna do it.
And they definitely won't acknowledge women exist outside of being objects for men to fuck and/or "protect" again.
Been awhile since I took shots of my collection figured I'd post em. This game has been with me since 2012 and kept me from ending it all. It means everything to me.
Jealous!
Analyzing Mishina Eikichi's Speech Patterns [Persona 2]
Yes, it is plural because he has more than one.
[full post under cut]
This is one of the really good things about Japanese, and it's such a shame it's almost impossible to translate straight into English. There's so much good nuance you can capture just with things like how they say "I" or how they end their words.
Spinning, Spinning, Spinning by Shinoda Takahiro.

Here's some trivia. Cielo, at least as written by this author, refers to Seraph as Anira. I assume he does the same in the Japanese version of the game, since he calls Serph aniki (big brother).
Misgendering isn't cool, Cielo.
I'm working on the rest of this. I masochistically redrew some of it to translate and cleanly replace the onomatopoeia.
Your Skills are Out of Date, by Morikawa Karin.

Translation note. I prefer to keep fairly close to the original meanings; I've only been rewording some things for humour where a direct translation would be too dry. This title is totally different, though; the original is 離脱時仕様, which basically seems to mean "specifications at the time of withdrawal". It's got to be commenting on how they keep their stats and skills from when they were removed from the party, but...It's extremely clunky and doesn't work at all in English, so I modified it to try to keep the point while working better. Translation can be a hassle that way.

TN: .....This one just made me feel gross, ugh. I don't think I very much like Oumi Waki's sense of humour. It's not funny to imagine that Sheffield and the EGG facility staff were all paedos. That doesn't make me laugh at all. I'm glad I finished translating the text of it so I never have to think about it again.
*Also, I'm guessing at the title here. The original title is 思とがまませ. I understand 思, but I couldn't find anything matching the がまませ part. The ませ basically just makes it more polite and grovelling, but I couldn't find anything to explain the がま. The closest thing I found in the dictionary is 我慢 (がまん), to endure, so I'm just stabbing in the dark and assuming that this is basically a slightly slangy way to use that verb, so I came out with this. I could be, and probably am, completely wrong, so I'm happy to be corrected. As disclaimed, I'm still learning, after all.
Copyright Infringement, by Oumi Waki.

TN: The title is more literally something like "abuse of one's right to their own likeness", but I thought this got the point across wihle being a little funnier. I'll probably amend the phrasing of stuff a little for the proper release.
World Bank Story, by Mitsuhashi Takashi.

TN: That's literally the title. 世界銀行の物語。You could also read it as "story of the world bank". Maybe it's a joke about bankers stabbing each other in the back, thinking about it? I'll possibly amend it.
