Alone

The heart wants what the mind warns you about.

The mind wants to avoid what the heart wants.

The constant battle alone would drive anyone insane.

Creating an isolated paradise where no one is welcomed.

You know that nobody understands you.

You know that you’re comfortable being in the dark.

You know that you are not supposed to be here.

But you are here and the pain that comes with realizing you’re not supposed to be here but you are is agonizingly unbearable.

Making each moment harder and harder to deal with.

There is no peace, there is no sleep, there is no joy.

Just the company of your most loyal friend, darkness.

Because you know it’s your fault.

Instead of surrounding yourself with more innecessities.

You choose your best friend, darkness once again so you can both be alone.

Falling Soul

My soul died today.

Blown away like a pile of ashes.

No grip to the ground.

Being pushed around in the air.

While others scream at least you get to fly.

But to me, it’s not flying. It’s falling.

The feeling you get when you’re dreaming and fall out of your bed.

Your heart stops.

You can’t catch yourself nor stop that bottomless pit feeling of falling.

Trying to grab anything that’ll keep your stance firm.

But there’s no control.

Like my soul, the wind has blown me away from the part of me that completes me.

All because I tried to burn someone else with coal in my hand.

I foolishly made myself a falling soul.

This was and is the most important birthday of my life. Not only because it’s 26 on the 26 but so much more than that. I’m Blessed to see 26 especially when there were plenty of days where I was nowhere near sure I’d make it this far. A select few have witnessed my growth and even my downfalls. The more time that passes and although each day has been their own versions of rollercoasters, I am still working on myself. I have to thank the ones that have made it their business to help me with my mental health and especially the ones who have put in overtime to try and get me through it all. I know the ones who have helped me genuinely and the ones who have been playing a role. I thank both types of people. The genuine because you give me hope (even if it’s only a grain) that I do have people in my corner even on the days when I feel like the only human on the planet. The role players, thank you for reminding me of how I used to be and reminding me that it’s okay to be a beast and cut a lot of you off without even voicing my feelings. I don’t really say too much and I’m not one who really shares my personal life on social media but I am truly grateful for the ones in my corner. Thank you for holding my hand through mood swings. Thank you for holding me through breakdowns. Thank you for uplifting my soul on different occasions. Just thank you. They know who they are. 💙💙💙💙 Thank you to @huntyhair for my makeup.
