Ask and ye shall receive. How about Felix trying to make a treat for his s/o but they catch him before it’s done?
Ask and you shall receive as well, anon! I hope you enjoy this!~ I tried my best to make Felix and baking remain in character!
Felix x Reader - A Baked Surprise
You always did so much for him. You put up with his grumpy attitude, you spar with him if he asks you to, you go out of your way to give him gifts that he enjoys, but most importantly, you love him as he is. You understood him and his love language, even if it wasn’t with words. Taking action held more meaning than words, he would say. Today, he wanted to show some more appreciation for you and he planned to do just that by making you something you’d enjoy. You were always going out of your way to do the same for him, and it was about time that he returned the favour, even if he didn’t particularly excel in the kitchen.
He hated sweets himself, and preferred not to eat any if possible, but he knew that you enjoyed them from time to time. Namely, when you were having tea parties with Mercedes and Annette. The last time you had had tea with the two girls, he snuck a glance at the snacks on the table; more particularly, the snacks on your own plate. If you were eating them, then that meant you liked them. It wouldn’t be hard to identify what it was and look up a recipe in the library- there’s no way he was going to ask Mercedes for a recipe. He wanted to surprise you with this, and if he asked Mercedes for help, he not only put himself at risk for being teased, but there was also a high chance of Mercedes spilling the beans to you.
Finding a recipe wasn’t that hard; you were eating a sponge cake at the time, and there were plenty of recipes for that in the library. He picked the one that had the smallest amount of sugar possible, if he did this right then he might indulge you with a tea time and eat it with you. Maybe. Most likely. He enjoyed spending time alone with you, after all, if he didn’t you two wouldn’t be in a relationship and he wouldn’t be going out of his way to skip training to bake you something.
With a recipe in hand, all that was left was for him to put everything together. He let out an annoyed huff, cooking wasn’t so bad; at least he could cut some ingredients. Baking on the other hand seemed boring and like a waste of time to him; all he was doing was measuring ingredients and mixing them together. But if it was for you, and it was, he was willing to do it. Just this once. Maybe again if your reaction was good. Being with you did things to his heart he wasn’t used to. Usually, he’d never go this far out of his way just for the chance to see a damn smile, but yours was well worth the effort.
As he distracted himself with measuring and mixing the ingredients as best as he could, you were wandering around the monastery looking for your boyfriend. Where was he? You checked the training grounds, the knights hall, you even went in his room to see if he was there. You just couldn’t find him, much to your own displeasure. Usually, finding Felix was one of the easiest tasks in the world; if he wasn’t training, then he was with you or- ah. The dining hall. You hadn’t bothered checking to see if by some chance he left the training grounds for a meal. Seeing as it was the only destination you could think of, you started making your way there.
Felix was in fact, in the dining hall. But he wasn’t eating like you had expected him to be. He was in the kitchen- wait… was he baking? The concept struck you as odd, you knew Felix hated sweets almost as passionately as he loved swords. You approached him with a small smile and leaned against the counter, regardless of the situation, you were still happy to have finally found him.
“There you are, Felix! I’ve been looking all over the place for you. What are you making?” You asked, brightly beaming up at him. Not seeing you approach, he turned around quickly with shock apparent on his face before he let out a grumble. So much for surprising you, he thought. You pouted, thinking he was upset over seeing you.
“Awww come on Felix, I just wanted to spend some time with you. Is it really so bad to want to spend a little quality time with the man I love?” You raised an eyebrow up at him, as his face flushed a pale pink.
“No, that’s not the problem. You know I don’t mind being with you, if I did, I would have said something a long time ago. It’s just…” He let out an annoyed huff, rolling his eyes before his face turned an even darker shade. The man was flustered, and anyone with eyes could see that. It was really cute, if you had to say so for yourself; not that you’d ever say it out loud to him. Felix most certainly would not appreciate you calling him cute.
“Look. You always do so much for me, so I decided that I’d try to do something for you. So I decided to try to bake a cake for you. I wanted it to be a surprise, but that didn’t last long did it? It was a dumb idea anyways, baking you a cake.” His explanation made your heart flutter as you blushed, a huge grin settling on your face. Felix was baking? For you? And he wanted it to be a surprise? He didn’t often do romantic gestures like this, but when he did, your heart went wild, and it was hard to keep yourself standing still.
“I don’t think it was a dumb idea. Felix, that’s so sweet of you to think about me and do all of this for me. I’m really touched by all of this, you really didn’t have to go out of your way for me. I’m happy just being able to spend time with you.” You couldn’t help but to allow a giggle to escape your lips, everything he was doing right now was just so endearing and precious to you.
With a pause he sighed and gave you a gentle smile, one reserved only for you, “Well, if it makes you that happy, then I guess I can’t complain. I can’t promise you it’ll taste good though, so don’t expect something extravagant to come out of the oven, alright?”
You nodded in response, looking over his shoulders and at the cake that was currently baking in the oven. It looked and smelled divine, he needed to give himself more credit for it. “Regardless of how it tastes, I’ll eat it. Because you’re the one who made it for me, and I love you. I’m sure it’ll taste great, it smells wonderful already.” You may have been a little cheesy with the words you were saying but they were all true. Even if the cake somehow came out tasting like one of Flayn’s abominations, you would have eaten it all. Though, you highly doubted anything could compare to the stuff Flayn made; she once used the oil to clean armour as an oil for deep frying food. Thankfully, Felix had much more common sense than that.
“That was stupidly mushy of you. Ugh, you’re being all lovey-dovey because of a dumb cake.” The words may have sounded distant and harsh, but the softness in his eyes and blush on his cheeks betrayed him.
“I’d argue that I’m being all lovey-dovey because of you. I wouldn’t say these things if anyone else was baking a cake.” You decided to tease him a bit, his reactions were just far too good for you to pass up.
“I sure hope you wouldn’t say these things if someone else was making the cake.” He grumbled as he turned around to take the cake out of the oven. It looked perfectly baked, you could tell he put a lot of thought and effort into making it for you.
“Hey Felix?” You asked, getting his attention as he set the cake down on a cooling rack. He faced towards you once more, an eyebrow arched up, waiting for you to continue.
“I love you, you know that, right?” Your eyes were filled to the brim with all the love and affection you had for him.
“That’s a random change in topic.” He quickly spoke, turning back around to face the cake once more. His ears with red for what you saw, and you grinned from behind him, even though he couldn’t see it. He really was way cuter than he thinks he is.
“Aw come on, don’t you want to say it back?~” With a sing-song voice, you made your way past the counters and into the kitchen with him, standing in front of him and wrapping your arms around his body, pulling him closer to you as you leaned your forehead up against his. A rather intimate act that would most likely get you a scolding later for doing so in public, but that was a risk you were willing to take.
His response was a quiet whisper, one you had to strain your ears to hear, but delighted you nonetheless. “I love you too, you moron.” With those words said, you stole a simple and small peck from his lips before pulling away. Picking up a fork, you gently pressed into the sponge cake taking a bite. It was airy, fluffy, sweet but not overly so- Felix might actually enjoy eating this with you, so long as the two of you drank his favourite tea, Almyran pine needles, with it.
“It tastes amazing, Felix. It’s not too sweet too. Did you make this so we could have tea together?” You inquired, a small smirk playing on your lips. Not only did he bake something for you with the intention to surprise you, but he also went out of his way to ensure it was suitable to both of your tastes so he could spend more time with you as you both ate it.
He huffed, pulling out the Almyran pine needles tea, a teapot, two cups and setting them on a tray with the cake before finally answering your question, “I will neither confirm nor deny doing that. You’ll just have to follow me to find out.” He finished speaking as he headed towards his dorm, carrying the tray. You gleefully followed him, ready to spend the rest of the day with your grumpy but kind and considerate boyfriend. He may not have surprised you in the way he was hoping to, but you were definitely smiling a whole lot for him. He would have to do this again.
If any of you want to send in Felix requests... please do! Right now, I have lots of other asks in my box, but I feel like writing for Felix and none of the current requests are for Felix ^^;

"How about something warm? It'll help you sleep." For Dedue x Reader please
Soooo.... It’s been a long time hasn’t it? Sorry guys, I just haven’t been motivated to write anything until now. But hopefully this is good, despite being a little out of practice!
"How about something warm? It'll help you sleep." For Dedue x Reader
You rolled around in your bed with no avail of finding any comfort, your eyes not even closed, simply open and wandering around in the darkness. There you laid, thinking back to the battle you had all just returned from; Gronder field. The morale of the troops was currently at an all-time low, after fighting former classmates and losing Rodrigue. People who you formed bonds with over the course of your academy year, people you studied with, shared meals with, made jokes with, they were all on the opposing sides of this war. Cutting them down wasn’t easy. It never is. But that’s the reality of war isn’t it? You don’t get to choose who lives and who dies, it was either you kill or be killed.
As the antagonizing thoughts roamed through your head, you sat up and haphazardly threw some decent clothes on. It was clear that sleep wasn’t going to find you tonight; though, you didn’t doubt that other members of the army were going through the same ordeal as you, some perhaps, having an even more difficult time. They were classmates too, after all. You opened the door, shutting it quietly behind you just in case anyone who was sleeping wasn’t woken up. You looked up at the sky, the clouds were heavy and grey; it was likely going to rain soon. You were originally planning to walk around the monastery, but getting poured on by the sky didn’t appeal to you currently. So you decided to head to the dining hall. Perhaps you’d find someone else there to talk with, and if not you had the option of being comforted by some snacks and drinks.
With your destination in mind, you started making your way there, stopping by the greenhouse as Dedue emerged from the doors.
“Doing gardening this late at night, Dedue? We just got back from battle, you should be resting.” You spoke up, starting a conversation with him as you made your way to him. He nodded in response, acknowledging you before responding with his own words,
“Yes. It seemed like no one else was going to check on the greenhouse so I took it upon myself to ensure that everything is growing well. What brings you here?” He questioned, brushing off you added note of him needing rest.
“I couldn’t sleep. Though, I suppose after a battle like that, it’s not so surprising to hear that, is it? I was planning to go to the dining hall. It looks like it’s going to rain soon, so I was hoping to either keep myself company with someone or with some food, or just…. Something to distract me from my own thoughts right now.” You explained, as you spoke, you wrapped your arms around yourself as an attempt to comfort yourself by holding yourself close. You really did not want to be alone right now, but you also didn’t want to bother anyone else, since you knew everyone was just as burdened as yourself.
“I’ll accompany you to the dining hall.” Dedue spoke, seemingly being able to read your mind; or perhaps it was your body language that conveyed how you felt. Regardless, you were thankful for the offer.
“Are you sure you want to? I would hate to be the one keeping you awake when you’re so busy all the time.” You asked him to ensure that this was something he was doing willingly; not because he felt obligated to do it.
“I do not mind. I may not be the best company, but it’s better than being alone. Let us make our way there, the rain will come down soon.” He looked up at the sky, and you did as well. He was right, the clouds were only getting thicker, and a downpour would start at any moment. You gave the man a small smile, thanking him for his company as the two of you walked together to the dining hall. He opened the door, gesturing for you to enter, and you did so, him following after you. Looking around, the dining hall had a few like-minded people, all spread about, some chatting quietly with others, and some consuming a beverage.
You and Dedue made your way to a table, isolated from everyone else. He sat across from you, as you gently tapped the table with your fingers, drumming them mindlessly. Talking with Dedue wasn’t exactly the easiest task in the world; you liked being around him, and usually it was fun to help him in the greenhouse as you two quietly worked together to care for the flowers, but the man was rather taciturn. Not that it was a bad thing, of course. It made time spent with him peaceful and simple. It was nice being with someone you didn’t feel forced to come up with new topics every time you were with them. You found comfort in merely having him around you, with or without any words. You felt safe around him.
“Should we get something to drink, maybe? Having something to drink might help calm my thoughts down a little. Not to mention, I’m a little thirsty.” You spoke up, breaking the silence between the two of you. He nodded in response, getting up from his spot to get the two of you something to drink.
“How about something warm? It’ll help you sleep.” He asked, making sure you were on board with his suggestion.
“Oh, that would be really helpful, I bet. Tea would probably be good. Your favorite is ginger tea, if I recall correctly. Why don’t we have that?” You suggest, getting up to help him with the task. He stopped you before you could leave the table completely, gesturing for you to sit down again.
“Just wait here, I’ll get it. Try to get comfortable, first.” He suggested as he left momentarily to brew the tea for the two of you. Taking his advice, you plopped yourself down at the table once more. You took a few deep breaths to try and relax yourself. You were still worked up from all that tossing and turning in your bed, and he could tell.
He came back with a tray carrying a teapot and two cups of ginger tea. He carefully set a cup in front of you, and one in front of himself as he set the teapot in the middle. Giving you a gentle warning to be careful, as the tea was hot. Nodding, you blew on the tea a bit before taking a small sip. The strong taste of ginger took over your mouth, but it wasn’t unpleasant. You could taste a hint of lemon and honey in the tea, making the tea a little sweeter and lighter on the tongue.
“It’s wonderful, thank you, Dedue. It seems like anything you do in the kitchen comes out perfectly, whether it’s food or drinks.” You smiled warmly at him as you praised the man for his skills. It may have just been tea this time, but you, as well as everyone else, knew what this man was capable of in the kitchen. He was easily the best chef you’ve ever met.
“You do not need to praise me so highly for tea.” He responded to your praise, brushing it off and rejecting it; he tended to do that, you’ve noticed. You weren’t sure if that was genuinely his mindset, or if people speaking badly about him just because he was a man of Duscur made him reject any form of compliments. The latter of the two saddened you. You hated seeing people judge him just because of where he was from. Those people never bothered to get to know him for who he truly was; A loyal, caring and well-intentioned man who would help anyone in need without hesitation, so long as the person in question did not intend to harm his highness.
“I’d disagree with that. After all, you made the tea so well. Ginger tea isn’t the easiest tea to make, it’s so easy to make the ginger too strong by adding too much or brewing it for too long, or adding too much lemon and making it sour, as well as too much honey to make it far too sweet. You put in the proper proportions of everything, so the ginger flavour is there, but not overwhelmingly so. It feels very soothing, compared to some other cups I’ve had. So I do believe that you’ve earned the praise for it.” You explained to him, a smile gracing your lips once more. You were going to make sure he knew that it was praise well-earned.
His face shifted into something more shocked, he was taken aback. He hadn’t expected you to take your praise further, even going as far as justifying it. His face soon cleared up of all shock, and instead he gave you one of those rare, gentle smiles. You knew it was genuine too, because Dedue doesn’t often smile; even going so far as to tell you that he doesn’t know how.
“I see, if that is how you feel about it, then I’ll accept the praise. I’m glad you like it, I added everything as I thought you’d like it. I figured you’d prefer a lighter flavour profile as compared to a strong one. In addition to that, this should help you sleep better than if it were stronger.” He took a sip of his tea after giving you an explanation for how he decided on the proportions. You nodded in approval, agreeing with what he was saying; it was true, the tea did make you feel more calm.
“The tea helped, certainly. But I think having good company also plays a part in how I feel right now.” One of his eyebrows shot up in curiosity,
“You think I’m good company?” He asked, wanting clarification on what you had just said. A small giggle escaped your lips,
“Of course I do, Dedue. You’re not the most talkative person, of course, but there’s a lot about you that is enjoyable. Being around you makes me feel safe and calm. And I’m not just referring to the battle field, though fighting at your side does make me feel those things as well; But I also feel like there’s a whole lot less pressure around you, because you’ve never judged me for anything. Not for the things I like, the mistakes I make, or anything at all. I feel comfortable around you, and I enjoy spending time with you. I would dare say that gardening with you is one of the few things I look forward to these days.” You voiced out your opinions about him so openly, appreciating his presence. All of it was true, perhaps more true than you thought before. If you really thought about it, then you would realize that Dedue gives you a sense of comfort that no one else you knew could. The time you spent with him was always cherished, and something you looked forward to doing more of. You would have to discuss that with him in the future, you supposed. For now, you would be content with spending time with him like this.
“No one has ever said those things to me before. I… appreciate it. I find spending time with you to be enjoyable as well. I’m glad that you enjoy it as well.” His response was a little timid, as he was feeling bashful. Hearing you say those things about him made him feel good, his heart felt warm.
The two of you stayed there for a while longer, discussing topics ranging to the flowers in the greenhouse to the cooking mishaps the two of you had witnessed. The occasional laugh from you would flow during the conversation, and your earlier thoughts were completely perished by this point. However, with that came a newfound sense of tiredness; you didn’t want to leave since you were enjoying yourself so much, but you needed to sleep if you didn’t want to slack off tomorrow.
“Thanks for keeping me company tonight, Dedue. The two of us are always so busy, so there’s never really a chance for the two of us to spend time like this. I hope that the two of us can spend more time together like this, I really enjoyed myself.” You thanked him for being with you and being able to comfort you at the time when you felt you needed it most.
“I agree, I look forward to spending more time with you like this, when our schedules allow us to do so.” He led you back to your dorm as you opened the door and entered your room, you beamed up at him and nodded eagerly.
“Yes, of course. Well, I’ll see you tomorrow then. Goodnight, Dedue. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart once again.”
“Goodnight, (y/n). Should you ever need me to do this again, don’t feel afraid to come find me. I enjoyed our time together.” With the two of you bidding each other farewell, he left to go to his own dorm room and you closed the door to your room. With a new sense of comfort, you changed back to your pajamas before laying in bed once more, this time, a smile gracing your lips as sleep managed to find you. You would have to have a certain conversation with him about your feelings, but that was a worry for another time.
No one asked for this, but I really wanted to write something like this, so I did! Hope you all enjoy!~
Seeing my future with you (Dimitri x Reader)
He didn’t expect this to happen, it was all so sudden. One moment, he was in the Blue Lions classroom with Annette, as he had volunteered to help her with a spell she wanted to try out, the next moment he had vanished off to gods knows where. He looked around taking in his surroundings, before realizing where he was; he was back at the castle in Fhirdiad. He was home. Well, that wasn’t so bad, he thought. Not the most ideal situation, but no more than a slight inconvenience. He’d be able to explain what happened to someone and he’d be back at the monastery in no time, though he’s sure that people at the monastery were panicking about his whereabouts at the moment. He did feel a little guilty, knowing that he’d miss having tea with you later as he had promised earlier in the day. But you were a sweet, kind and understanding person, he knew you’d simply laugh it off and forgive him.
At least, he thought everything was that simple. He heard heavy footsteps behind him, as an familiar yet unfamiliar voice called out to him, “Who are you?. Turning around to answer, he looked at the person who had asked him in shock; the same reaction reflected on the other persons- no, his own face. He could at the very least recognize that the person in front of him was none other than himself; a taller, bulkier, eyepatched version of himself. He was curious as to where the eyepatch had come from, but that was not his priority at the moment. He was more concerned about how this had happened.
His older-self finished processing the situation, before letting out a small chuckle, “Let me guess; you were helping Annette with a spell, but suddenly you’ve teleported somewhere, you thought you were home, but upon seeing me you’ve realized you’re in the future, correct?” The younger Dimitri could only nod in response. He supposed that it made sense that the future him understood what was going on; he must have experienced this for himself in the past as well.
“Follow me, we should discuss your current situation in a better place than a hallway.” Without waiting for a response, the king turned around and started walking away. The prince let out a sigh and followed the king, having no other choice. This situation certainly got a whole lot more complex.
The king had led his younger self out to the garden, sending a maid to fetch the two of them some tea. The younger Dimitri looked around, the garden looked more lively compared to how it usually had; well-kept and vibrant. The spot they were sitting in currently was a new addition too; he could not recall such a quiet and peaceful corner in the garden previously existing.
The king did not speak, he just sat there, observing his younger self, a smile on his lips. He recalled how in the past, during the academy days, he told himself he had no future to truly look forward to; the reason why he had attended the monastery to begin with was to hopefully find information on who caused the tragedy of Duscur. How things have changed since then. He had experienced the lowest of lows and the highest of highs in the past decade alone. There were many things he wanted to tell himself; and yet he knew he could not tell it all. Lessons are better learnt when experienced for themselves. He could however, try to give himself a nudge, and show that he did have a future to look forward to; no matter how hard things would be getting for him.
The tea had arrived, along with a tray of a couple of sweets.
“Sweets? I appreciate them but… we would not be able to taste them anyways, isn’t this a bit of a waste?” The young prince asked, taking a sip of the chamomile tea that was offered.
“You wouldn’t be able to taste them, no. As for me… I’ve started gaining my sense of taste back. My taste buds are still dull to most flavours, but my wifes baking is one of the few things I have the pleasure of being able to taste.” He explained, reaching to take a bite of a fruit tart.
“I see, so your wife must have made these then. Wait… Your… your wife?” The young Dimitri gave him a look of disbelief, he couldn’t have heard that correctly, could he have? He... He had a wife in the future. One that he clearly loved, judging by the smile on the king's face as he took a bite of the fruit tart.
“Yes, my wife. She’s also the queen, as I’m sure you’ve figured out.” He explained, taking great pleasure in the expressions his younger self was making. He’s never been the greatest at showing how he felt on his face, but in genuine moments like this, everything showed, and it was very amusing.
“Who… who is your wife?” Dimitri found himself asking, amazed that he, of all people, managed to settle down and get married. His older self didn’t look that old either, did he manage to achieve his ambitions of revenge for the dead so quickly? This was unexpected information for the prince.
Just as that question was asked, the two could hear light footsteps coming towards them, and a feminine voice called out, “Dimitri my love, are you here? The maids said I could find you here so I- ah…” She trailed off, looking at the pair, stunned to see the younger man wearing the academy uniform.
He couldn’t believe his eyes. It was you. An older version of you, who looked absolutely beautiful and radiant. Dimitri, of course, had been in denial about his feelings towards you for a while now; telling himself that you deserved someone better, someone who actually had a future. But no matter how often he denied it, the thoughts of ‘what if’ always crossed his mind. To see that his future self was married to you made his heart pound.
The king chuckled at the prince's reaction, and held a hand out, gesturing for his wife to come closer, “Come now, my beloved. After all, it is just me here.” He joked, smiling lovingly towards you. You shook your head as a small laugh managed to escape your lips, taking the kings hand, he pulled you closer.
“You… You’re… (y/n)? I… In the future I marry you?” The prince stuttered out, trying to get a hold of himself and put himself back together from this revelation. You gave him a kind smile and nodded, “As you can see for yourself, yes, Dimitri. But I have to ask, why are you here? Judging by your outfit, it looks like you’re still attending the officer’s academy…” you trailed off, your eyes running over his youthful figure with fondness.
“Do you recall that one time I went missing during the academy days, my love?” The older Dimitri asked, looking up at you. Your eyebrows furrowed as you thought for a bit, trying to recall the memory. After a little thinking, you gasped and nodded, “Yes, I remember! That was when Annette made a mistake while trying a spell! Oh, I was so worried about you, I- nevermind, that’s not what’s important right now.” You cleared your throat, blushing a bit.
“If you both wouldn’t mind too terribly, could I… ask some questions about the future?” The younger Dimitri managed to ask, after collecting himself together. He may as well take advantage of the situation and try to learn some things before returning back to his own time, after all.
“You may ask as many questions as you’d like. But we won’t answer everything for you, after all, there are things you need to learn and experience for yourself, no matter how dark they are… No matter how regretful they are...” The older Dimitri spoke up, eyeing his younger self with seriousness.
“No matter how dark they are?” The prince asked, frowning as he heard that. That didn’t sound too positive or hopeful for him. Surely everything couldn’t have ended up so badly, considering what he was seeing in the present moment. Then again he supposed, the man did have an eyepatch on him, and he seemed tougher now, as though he faced many hardships.
“Things are a lot better now. There’s still a lot of work to do, of course but… There were many dark times that had happened before any of this. I’ve gone through hell and back to be where I am today; what you’re seeing right now, is the rainbow after the storm. A terrible, ferocious, and bloody, long storm.” The older man took a deep breath, closing his eye. This was as much as he’d tell him in regard to the war; and the beast he was during it. His biggest and most important life lessons were learnt from those experiences, regardless of how awful they were. But no matter, he would look forward, and he has, since everything had ended. He had become a king for his people, working hard to restore the kingdom from the horrors of war.
“Then how about how… you two… ended up together?” He asked, his cheeks blushing as he looked at the couple. He wondered if this meant that you returned his feelings already in the present day, or if it was something that happened over time after you two graduated. You giggled in response to the flustered boy, it was cute being able to see him like this.
“Dimitri, I think you’ll be happier if you experience our love for yourself, don’t you? The relationship itself didn’t take all too long to get into. There’s a very good chance that the me of your time is already in love with you. But we couldn’t get married right away due to… a series of unfortunate events. Those events will feel long and grueling. But know this; no matter how hard things get, no matter how difficult and hopeless things seem, I will always stand by your side and support you as best as I can. Even when you don’t want me there, I will be. I loved the prince at the academy, and I love the kings’ whose side I stand by today. Nothing will change my unconditional love for you.” You beamed at him happily, looking over at your husband adoringly as he reached up to kiss the back of your hand in satisfaction.
“Thank you. In that case, I swear to do my best to stay by your side in my time. Though, I’m sure those words seem meaningless, since you two already know what happens in the future. You two look very happy together, I look forward to the day when I find myself in your own shoes.” He chuckled and looked over to the older version of himself.
“It’s a shame you only travelled this far in time, otherwise you would have had a chance to see the prince.” The older Dimitri spoke up, a smirk playing on his lips.
“The prince? You two have a child then?” His head tilted a bit to the side in confusion. That didn’t seem right. Sure, they were older, but old enough to have a son who was out of the castle? Unless their son was doing ridiculous and rigorous training methods at the young age of three, he doubted they had a child who was old enough to venture out of the castle walls without them.
“One on the way, actually.” You giggled at his expression, seeing it once again shift to shock, as his eyes slowly looked down at the slight bump that was starting to form on your stomach. “Three months along, almost four.” You explained before resting a single hand on your stomach lovingly. You had remembered the happiness that bore on your husband’s face the day you broke the news to him; finally, a family of your own.
Dimitri couldn’t believe this. All of this. In the future, he has a loving wife who loyally stands by his side and supports him no matter what, and the two of them had a child who was on their way into the world; they were starting their own family. He was touched by all of this newfound information. He never imagined himself having a future like this; having a future with the one he loved- you. It all felt like some foreign, distant dream and yet here he was, witnessing proof of everything that was to come.
“This is… Congratulations, I truly mean that. And thank you. Both of you. I hadn’t anything to look forward to for a long time. All hopes of a happy future like this, have long left me. But seeing you both here today.. Makes me believe I’m allowed to be hopeful. That I do have a future with her, aside from my ambitions. That perhaps I… I am allowed to be with her.” He closed his eyes, warmth filling his soul. It felt nice- his heart felt nice. He felt light, as though a huge weight on him had been lifted off.
The two of you smiled gently at him before the king stood up, “We should probably get you back to your time now, shouldn’t we? You wouldn’t want to keep your future wife waiting for you, after all.” He teased, grinning down at the prince. Dimitri nodded and stood up as well, more than ready to get back to his time. If he was lucky, perhaps he’d get back soon enough to still have some tea with you, and he could confess his feelings to you.
He paused for a second, “Ah but… How am I supposed to get back? Would you two happen to know a spell?” He asked, looking between the two of you.
“I believe I’ve seen a book with a spell in it in the library. Let’s go there, I’m sure we’ll have you back in no time.” You spoke, before walking out of the gardens and towards the library. Both men nodded at each other before following you. The three of you browsed around, looking for any spell books that may have been of help. After several minutes of searching they both heard a triumphant “aha” from you.
You stepped in front of him, flashing him a kind smile once more, as you got ready to cast the spell.
“It was nice seeing you like this once again, Dimitri. It really made me remember our academy days together. Being with you, spending time with you during those days… Even if we were just training together or studying, it made me extremely happy. And being with the you of this time? Makes me even happier.” Your eyes watered, thinking of the long, hard path it took to end up where you were today; yet, you would change nothing, if it meant being where you are now. You wouldn’t give your husband and your soon-to-be son up for anything in the world. The older Dimitri gently held your back encouragingly, before looking back to his past self.
“The past isn’t everything, you must remember to look forward. I hope that being here today, has taught you that. And… Please take care of her, at all times.” The king admonished him.
The prince nodded as you casted the spell, he slowly started to fade out of the future, but before he disappeared completely, you both heard him call out, “Thank you for everything, I’ll cherish this memory”. And with that, the young Dimitri was transported back to his own time. You leaned on your husband’s shoulder, still staring at the spot the prince previously occupied.
“You know, I really was taken back in time, seeing you like that. Back then I thought you were handsome, but now I think you looked cute.” You joked.
“I did look different, didn’t I? He’s a little naive; he certainly has a lot of learning to do before he gets here. But you know there is one thing that never changed with time; how I felt about you. Back then, it was just some schoolboy crush. Now? I love you with everything that I am. You truly did stay true to your own words and stood by me all this time.” He leaned his forehead against your own, bringing you into a gentle kiss, his arms pulling you closer to him.
You slowly pulled away from the kiss, responding to him, “I will always be here for you, my love. I meant it before, I meant it in our wedding vows, and I mean it now. And you know, it looks like your past self did at the very least listen to your words- even when we couldn’t get to you back then, you still protected me on the battlefield. Though, back then you claimed it was because I was a valuable ally.” He nodded and held you close once more, enjoying the small proximity between the two of you.
After a minute of holding you in silence, he finally pulled away, before remembering; “Oh, but that does remind me of two questions I meant to ask you. The first one being about how you said you were worried about me when I time travelled back then. What did you do that you were so embarrassed to admit?” He questioned, his curiosity getting the best of him.
Your face flushed as you laughed nervously, “Oh, that? I… To be honest with you, I was about to tear that monastery down looking for you. I was so worried that something terrible had happened to you. I was a real mess, panicking the way I did.” You laughed, remembering your own reaction when Annette had told you what she had accidentally done.
He chuckled and shook his head, “It’s a good thing I came back when I did then- otherwise the monastery would have been destroyed a lot sooner and I wouldn’t have had the chance to date you. That aside though, why were you looking for me earlier?”
“Oh, that? I was actually just wondering if you wanted to have some tea with me as a break since you’ve been working so hard lately. Though, I suppose there’s no need to ask that anymore, since you already had tea with your younger self” You answered, providing a small pout over the lack of tea time with your husband.
“There’s no need to make that face, my beloved. For you, I’m more than willing to have tea a second time. Come now, my love. Let’s go back to the gardens.” His eye sparkled with merriment as he held his arm out for you to take. You nodded happily and took his arm, both of you making your way to enjoy some tea and quality time together, discussing things of the past and the future to come.
Back at Garreg Mach, years into the past, Dimitri warped back to where he previously was, stumbling upon his landing. He looked around and let out a sigh of relief. It seemed like the spell worked! He was back in his own time, exactly where he had left it- in the Blue lions classroom. He brushed himself off before leaving the classroom, looking around to find you.
“Guys look! He’s over there, he’s back!” A voice shouted, as his classmates started to run up to him. You bolted up to him before the rest of the group and pulled him into a hug, “You’re safe! You’re back- I was so worried about you, Dimitri. I’m so relieved to see you here once again, it’s been hours since you’ve gone missing.” He smiled in reassurance and gently patted your back in comfort. You pulled away from his embrace as the rest of the group caught up, and stepped back from him, allowing him some space.
Before he could say anything to you, the rest of your classmates pulled up, looking worse for wear and out of breath. They had been searching endlessly for him for the past couple of hours just as you had, and were just starting to lose hope when he appeared before them all.
Annette spoke up first, “I’m so sorry your highness! I had no idea that the spell would teleport you somewhere! Are you alright?” She asked, guilt being expressed all over her face as she bowed to him.
He shook his head and smiled at her, “I’m alright, as you can see. Thankfully you didn’t teleport me anywhere dangerous.” He explained, reassuring everyone of his well-being.
“Where did you end up teleporting to?” Ashe asked, wondering where in the world the prince previously was.
“Ah I was… Just somewhere familiar. Really familiar. Close to the castle in Fhirdiad. I met a couple who was kind enough to help me out and send me back here.” He wore a smile on his face, thinking back to his future self and you.
“The boar is back, I’m going back to training.” Felix spoke up, with a tsk. He walked away with Sylvain and Ingrid following him, the former telling him to stop being so uptight with training, to relax a bit for once and the latter scolding him for being so cold with a childhood friend.
Annette bowed to him once again saying some more apologies for her mistake, before leaving with Mercedes to indulge in some sweets after the stress she had been through.
The professor expressed relief over his return before leaving to go inform the church. Thankfully, no knights would need to be dispatched to find Dimitri, and the conflict was resolved before word got out into the kingdom.
“I’m glad to see you safe, your highness.” Dedue spoke up quietly, relieved of his liege’s return. He bowed himself before making his way to the greenhouse, he was on gardening duty tonight, and although he had many questions about his highness’s whereabouts, they would have to wait until later. Ashe followed Dedue to help him with his task, and to keep him good company.
Dimitri chuckled at the antics of his own house before looking up at the sky. It was getting quite late in the day. He hasn’t realized how much time had passed himself, being caught up in all of the time travelling and questions he had. It was all well worth it though, if only to see how happy you two had ended up together.
He looked over at you once again, offering his arm out to you, “It may be later than the original time we had set, but would you still care to get that cup of tea with me?” He asked, a warm smile gracing his lips, as his eyes looked into your own affectionately. You beamed up at him and took his arm, starting to walk with him to have some tea together.
“Of course Dimitri, I’d love nothing more than that. Chamomile tea, as usual right?” You asked with a giggle, as he nodded in response.
“Chamomile tea. There’s something really important I wanted to tell you today over tea, actually- ah, but I’ll save that for when we’re actually at the table.”
Fluff Starters
“You’re hair is really soft after you wash it.”
“Ssh. Stop fussing. I’m just braiding your hair.”
“You smell really nice.”
“Would it be all right if I borrowed your sweater? It smells like you.”
“I might have slept with your robe when you were gone.”
“If you steal the blankets, I am going to put my cold feet on you.”
“Here, let’s share the blanket.”
“You’re comfy.”
“You are my new pillow.”
“You are very endearing when you are half-asleep.”
“But I want to hear you sing.”
“We can talk over dinner.”
“Don’t be stubborn. Try it!”
“Don’t get up - I’ll do it.”
“Will you let me rub your back?”
“Care to give me a back scratch?”
“Star-gazing was a good idea.”
“You look beautiful/handsome in the moonlight.”
“I’ll always be here for you.”
“I’ll be here to protect you.”
“I think I love you.”
“You are my love.”
“How about something warm? It will will help you sleep.”
“It’s okay. I couldn’t sleep anyway.”
“Don’t be silly. I want to stay up with you.”
“It is not morning yet.”
“Shush and go back to bed.”
“I heard you talking in your sleep.”
“Your bed head is really cute.”
“We’ll do dishes together.”
“How about a kiss?”
“I love your hugs.”

Timeskip Dimitri x Reader - Let me help you
After a long and bloody battle with the imperial army, it was decided that since Garreg Mach would be a long march away, and all the soldiers were exhausted and injured from the battle that had just taken place, that the army would camp for the night and march back to base the next day. So there you sat, on a mattress in your shared tent with your lover, with a bucket of water and a cloth as you wiped away the blood from your wounds gently, trying not to re-open them.
You hissed a bit in pain, unfortunately you were ambushed by another enemy while you were in combat with a swordsman, leaving a deep cut on your sides. It was nothing so severe as to land you in the medical tent, but still, something that would take time and care to fully recover from. There were of course, other minor injuries that littered your body, but you weren’t concerned about them at the present moment.
The tent flap folded open, and you shifted your gaze towards the entrance, watching your beloved enter with an exhausted sigh as he started to remove his own bloody armour.
“Tired, dear? It’s been a long day. Longer for you, I’m sure, since you have to keep track of everything and make sure all is in order before getting some rest.” You smiled at him as he made his way over towards you, taking the cloth from your hands as he started to clean your wound for you. If this was back during the academy days, he’d never personally tend to your wounds like this- he was always afraid his monstrous strength would hurt you more. He’s more controlled now, more gentle. Still doesn’t make him any less clumsy when it comes to careful handiwork, like sewing, much to your amusement and his displeasure.
“I’m doing what I believe is best for everyone. No matter how difficult it may be, I believe such efforts will pay off in time, once this war is over. But nevermind that, how are you faring? This cut is quite deep, afterall. Do you need me to get you anything for it?” His face showed pure concern, as he analyzed your injury closely, as well as looking at the other battle wounds that littered your body.
You shook your head, “I’m fine, it may be a deep cut, but nothing life threatening or that I can’t handle on my own. There are others out there who got more injured than myself. You needn’t be so worried about me, my love. Besides, what of your own injuries?” You asked, looking over his body as he tended to your own.
He chuckled, “Do not worry about me. I’m fine, I’m more concerned about you right now, afterall. Let me help you first.” You pouted at his answer, before gently lifting his shirt over his head to look at his body for yourself; he could be stubborn at times, especially when it was about his own well-being. He always did seem to care more about others rather than himself. His selflessness is one of the reasons why you fell in love with him, but at times like this, it was also his biggest flaw; a flaw that you have accepted. You would just have to look after him, if he refused to do it himself.
His eye widened in temporary shock as his shirt was pulled off, and you took the opportunity to clean some of his own injuries- they were minor scratches, but they still needed to be cleaned to prevent infection.
He chuckled at your diligence, “I know you’re worried about me, but please, allow me to patch you up first. You’re in worse condition than I am, after all. I can wait for a treatment.” He gently pulled you closer, planting a kiss on your forehead in an attempt to get you to settle down. You let out a huff before nodding in compliance. His smile grew, as he once again set to cleaning your injury.
“You always call me stubborn, and you would be right- But sometimes, I think it’s the other way around. You’re quite stubborn about caring for me.” He mused, now rubbing an ointment over the cut as carefully as he could.
“I guess the two of us are just two fools who would rather care for each other than ourselves then, aren’t we?” You joked with him, looking at him lovingly with tender and adoring eyes.
“Fools we are. But so long as you’re by my side, I suppose being a fool is not so bad.” You felt him firmly wrapping a bandage around you, it was tight enough to put pressure on the wound to prevent any further blood loss and to lower the chances of infection, but loose enough to where you could still move and breathe without any discomfort.
“You’re so cheesy at times, you know that?” You looked at him with mirth, before starting to fix his own injuries up. He hummed in contentment, feeling your hands work their way around his body, cleaning every scratch, and occasionally leaving a lingering touch with longing. His eye looked over your body once more, as you were distracted with his; he noticed that there were still some cuts that hadn’t yet been handled. He would have to fix that, wouldn’t he?
“You say that as though it’s a bad thing. But you look pretty happy right now. Or maybe that’s just because you’re distracted from the original intention of simply dressing my wounds.” He teased you, a hint of suggestiveness in his voice. Your face flushed as you gaped at him; while it was true that his body was quite the eye-pleaser, all those years of training and fighting giving him defined muscles, you hadn’t expected him to be so straightforward in regards to possible impure intentions.
“I- Well that’s- I mean… Ahem. I think you’re the one reading into it too much, hmm? All I was doing was taking care of your injuries.” You quickly broke eye-contact with him as you flusteredly tried to continue cleaning his wounds.
“It was only a jest, my beloved. I couldn’t pass up such an opportunity to tease you like this. I love seeing you react like this, it’s a side of you that’s reserved for myself.” He gently pulled one of your hands down from his body, and held it within his own, resting his forehead against yours. “It’s a very lovely side of you. Whenever I see you reacting to me in such a way, all my worries and stress go away and…” He brought your other hand to his chest, right above his heart, “It makes my heart beat faster, knowing how much you love me, as I am, despite all my faults and mistakes in the past.”
“Dimitri…” You murmured, as you pulled him into a deep, breath-taking kiss, pouring all the love you held for him into it, hoping that the one single action would be enough to convey everything he made you feel.
“You’re always so eager to take care of me, and to make sure I’m alright. I appreciate it, you’ve always stuck by my side; through thick and thin. So please, whenever you’re injured, let me take care of you, rather than you taking care of me. I’ve only handled your biggest injury so far, but I can see that there are other injuries that you have. Let me help you.” He mumbled after pulling away from the kiss, picking up the wash cloth once more, cleaning the other injuries on your body that had not yet been tended to.
All you could do was nod in agreement and allow him to take care of you; to pamper you. And when the time was right, it would be the other way around with you taking care of him. You would both help each other, and be there for the other, whether it be for things that are major or minor.
Update
Yes, I’m still alive, sorry for the lack of posts once again. It’s been very stressful for me due to recent events in the world, and I had to shift my focus on things with high priority, but I’d like to start posting again soon. Really sorry for making everyone wait so long, and for being inactive. As I mentioned, it’s been stressful and I’ve had a lot of things to handle regarding school and work and getting that sorted out, and I’ve also lost motivation, but I’m back, I think! I’ll write when I feel most inspired and motivated, but my posts may not be constant. I hope you all understand ^^

Requested from @glitchy-mai as the 1k followers gift! I had fun writing a letter, it was fun to think about what he may write in a letter addressed to the one he hold feelings for!
Love letter from Dedue - Pre-timeskip
Dear ____,
Hello. I understand that this letter may be unexpected, given who I am. I do not talk much when you help me in the greenhouse. I apologize for that, but I do not handle social situations well. I also did not want you to face the scorn of associating with someone from Duscur. Though, you’ve recently told me that you don’t care about where I’m from. And that you care about me as a friend. I care about you as well. More than that of a normal friend, however. I’ve been trying to think of ways to tell you about these new feelings, and his highness suggested that if I can’t talk about them, then to write them down for you. So I decided to take his advice and try it. I believe my words are still not the best in letter form, but I assure you that my feelings are sincere. You’re a kind person, you’ve always looked out for everyone- myself included, even when I tell you not to. You’ve also shown a lot of interest towards my culture, rather than shunning me for it. Aside from me, you’re the only other person who is able to properly care for the Duscur flowers in the greenhouse. I understand if you do not hold the same feelings towards me; nothing will change if you don’t. But I wanted to tell you how I felt.
From, Dedue
Thank you for 1,000 Followers!
Oh my goodness, I really didn’t expect this to happen at all. I’m speechless honestly, at a real loss of words. But thank you, everyone. I’m super thankful towards everyone who has supported me thus far and has appreciated my current works, and I will definitely be coming out with more in the future.
I’ve done some thinking and I think that I want to write 5 love letters as my thank you. It’s not a lot, not nearly as much as I usually write, but I think it’d be cute. It’s still February, so in a way, it’s fitting for the month, right? So, first 5 characters commented on here will get a love letter written for them!
But really, thank you all so much. I really love and appreciate everyone here. Everyone has been so kind and sweet and I really do want to thank you all properly. Thank you for treating me well, in the time I’ve been here!

It’s a certain someone’s birthday, so I had to write for him! Happy Birthday to the Tsundere Blue Lions boy, Felix!
Happy Birthday, My love
Felix x Reader (Post-timeskip)
Despite the fact that the war was still on-going, and Dimitri still hadn’t yet snapped out of his feral state, and everyone would soon be going to Ailell, the valley of torment to meet with Rodrigue for extra soldiers and supplies, you still wanted to take the time to properly celebrate Felix’s birthday with him. It wouldn’t be any big or grand party, partially because there weren’t the supplies to go around for that, but also because you knew he’d hate that. He never was the type to attend grand events such as balls and parties; a waste of time, he’d say.
You wouldn’t be surprised if he skimmed over his own birthday, preferring to not even acknowledge the day. So you decided to keep it private between the two of you, by giving him his gifts in surprise. Two weeks prior, you had placed an order on a customized sword for Felix. It was both beautiful and efficient, the blade was both something he’d appreciate and could use on the battle field. A custom blade did cost a fair chunk of gold, but it was more than worth it; the design came out much better than you had anticipated and you knew that upon seeing it, he’d bless you with one of his rare smiles. The rare and exclusive smile that always managed to make your heart flutter and grow for the swordsman even more, a task that you had previously thought to be impossible to achieve.
There was only one issue, something that you were stumped on; Felix hated sweets with a passion almost as great as his passion for training and swinging his sword. But you still wanted to bake something for him yourself. It was a matter of finding the right thing to bake for him, something that wasn’t so sweet and yet could pass as a birthday cake. In your current predicament, you found yourself in the kitchen with an apron on and surrounded by many baking recipe books. So far, you hadn’t had much luck in finding anything.
“These books are useless, what on earth could I make that isn’t too sweet but is still considered a cake?” You pondered closing your eyes in contemplation. Finally, an idea struck you like lightning and you got to work. You were going to make him a dark chocolate crepe cake. Chocolate is usually considered to be one of the sweetest of sweets, however with a really dark chocolate base, it would take on a more bitter flavour profile, and you could add spiced rum to the chocolate filling, allowing it to not be overbearingly bitter, and retaining a classy flavour. The crepes would also lean the cake more on the savoury rather than sweet side. It was the perfect plan.
So you immediately got to work, knowing that it would take a lot of time to make due to all the layers that would have to be stacked up.
“Cooking the crepes one by one just isn’t efficient… By the time I finish making this cake, Felix and I will have already gone into the afterlife.” You huffed, looking at the current layers in your cake- 5 layers. You wanted it to be at least 20 layers. You rolled your eyes and brought out a second pan- you supposed that you would just have to multitask and cook more than one at once.
After a significant amount of time had passed, the cake was finally done. Thankfully you managed to successfully make it without burning any layers, and the cake looked pretty good for someone who isn’t in the baking profession.
Now all you had to worry about was getting both of your gifts to Felix. Giving it to him in the training grounds seemed like a dumb idea, that would be a great place to go if you wanted to see all your hard work go flying in the air because someone bumped into you, being too caught up in their own training. You decided that his room was likely the best place to put it for the time being, as you wrapped everything up neatly into a cardboard gift box and carefully carried it to his dorm room.
You had gently placed the crepe cake on his desk as well as any utensils you two would use to eat it, before leaving to fetch the sword from your own room to bring over to his. Making sure everything was neatly in place and looked well-wrapped, you nodded and smiled at your hard work before leaving to go to the training grounds to get Felix. If you knew Felix well enough, and you do as his significant other, you knew he wouldn’t just leave the training ground; not without a sparing session. As you made your way to the training grounds, you stretched out your stiff arm muscles; sore from all that whisking they had to do earlier to make the filling and crepe mix.
Picking up your pace, you arrived at the training grounds, you looked around for the blunt swordsman. You smiled as you saw him skillfully swing his blade, somehow looking elegant and graceful in your own eyes. Watching him train has always captivated you; he made sure every move counted, for Felix there was no such thing as a wasted move; everything was well thought out and calculated in retaliating to his opponent. Very few people could actually put up a good match against him, one of the many things you had admired about him since academy days. Snapping out of your lovestruck stupor, you made your way over to him, catching his attention.
“There you are. I haven’t seen you all day, what was so important that you went missing for an entire day?” He spat out, crossing his arms.
You laughed at his attitude and shook your head, “Nothing too serious, if that’s what you’re worried about. I just had something personal to take care of, that’s all.”
“Tch, I wasn’t worried… Well you’re here now so you may as well train with me, after an entire day of slacking off.” He handed you a sword and got into a stance, ready to fight whether you approved of it or not.
“Fine by me, but under one condition; If I win you have to come with me to see something.” You smiled at him, getting into your own fighting stance, your face slowly shifting into something more serious. Felix wasn’t a pushover, after all. Lover or not, he still came at you with everything he had. It was his way of caring for you; if he hadn’t cared for you, he wouldn’t bother to train with you, but because he does, he goes hard to ensure that in the real battles you’re able to protect yourself well.
“You want me to go somewhere with you? Even after a day of slacking off you still want to… Fine. But only if you win against me. If I win you have to continue training with me.” His lips were firm, as he took the first swing, not waiting for you to respond. His eyes looked fierce as they watched your form closely, trying to read your body and gain the advantage; Felix did not like leaving the training grounds after all. As far as he was concerned, he had to win.
You parried his blow with your own blade, pushing back against his and creating more distance between the two of you. The two of you swung at each other, a loud clang echoing throughout the training grounds before you both pulled back once more. Circling each other, you two eyed one another, trying to gauge the other’s next move, both parties not wanting to lose this match. Deciding that more action and less watching needed to be done, you rushed forward, directing many quick blows at him. None of them were particularly strong, but they were fast and skillful. It would direct all his attention to taking the defence rather than the offence, allowing you precious time to think of a way to quickly secure a victory.
Finally, he left an opening for you, and you quickly seized it, his hand dropped the blade and you held your sword up to his neck, “Yield.” You simply said, looking into his eyes, determination from the spar still within your eyes. He let out a small huff and nodded.
“I yield.” He muttered quietly as he picked the blade off the ground and put his and your blade away.
“What did you want to show me?” He asked, wiping the sweat from his forehead as he followed you out of the training grounds.
“I can’t tell you, you’ll just have to see for yourself.” You smiled up at him cheerfully as you guided him to his dorm.
“My room? You pulled me away from the training grounds to see my own room. If this is your way of telling me to take a break and rest then thanks but no thanks. There’s training to be done-“ His eyebrows were furrowed, and you quickly cut him off.
“Felix, we had a deal. And I promise I didn’t just take you here to sleep, just… open the door and go inside!” You insisted, your smile perking up even more despite the fact that he had just tried to leave. He looked at you with exasperation before rolling his eyes and giving you a small nod.
He opened the door and stepped inside, before freezing, his eyes settling on the cake on his desk, as well as a long, thin box with a bow on it. You closed the door behind the two of you and giggled at his expression.
“Happy Birthday Felix, my love. I know you don’t like sweets, so before you complain about the cake, I just wanted to tell you that it’s a crepe cake, so it’s more on the savoury side- And I used dark chocolate, so it wouldn’t be overwhelmingly sweet, I even added in some spiced rum so it wouldn’t be so bitter.” You explained to him in a quick and timely manner, not allowing him to get a word in before you finished.
He sighed and ran a hand though his hair, “You didn’t have to do all that for me you know…”
“You say that, but that smile on your face says otherwise.” You grinned up at him, wrapping your arms around him in a hug, “And that’s not all. You haven’t even opened the gift yet. You’ll like that a whole lot more, I promise.” You pressed a kiss to his cheek, allowing all your affection for him to bleed through the closed door. In public, you two put on more of a reserved front, however in private, the two of you tended to be much more physical and vocal about affections for one another.
He let out a soft chuckle, nodding as he reached over to open the gift. He pulled the blade out and looked at it carefully. His eyes drank in the intricate designs that were on the hilt of it, as he pressed it in his hand feeling the grip; it fit him perfectly. He nodded in approval, deeming the blade worthy, before he sheathed it away and turned toward you to properly wrap his arms around you, pulling you into a firm and loving hug.
“Thank you. I mean it. I don’t usually make a big deal out of celebrating my birthday, you know how noble parties are- stuffy, stupid, pompous… But this is nice. You put a lot of thought into everything.” His voice was quiet as he spoke into your ear, and you smiled in relief, knowing that all the effort had paid off. He was happy, which was a rarity these days; and also a blessing.
“Of course I did. I love you Felix, and I wanted to at least do something for your birthday. We can’t have a party or anything due to the circumstances- not that I think you would want one anyways, so I wanted to be able to spend some time with you, celebrating in our own way. The war has been taxing on everyone, even you. Even if you don’t want to admit it.” You spoke tenderly to him, one of your hands reaching down to grab his own and gently rubbing it. Savouring the feeling of he hands in your own.
“If the boar prince just snapped out of his thirst for revenge for the dead, then this war would be over a lot faster.” He rolled his eyes and you shook your head at him.
“Don’t think about that right now. Right now, it’s just the two of us, and we’re going to enjoy some quality time together, celebrating your birthday.” You tugged him towards the cake and handed him the knife. He sighed and nodded in response, before cutting the cake, placing a piece onto a plate. Then, he stabbed a fork in and took a bite. He was eating it slowly, as he evaluated the flavour, and you waited nervously in anticipation for his judgement.
He swallowed the cake, “It’s still a little sweet but… It’s tolerable. I’ll eat it. You put a lot of work into it.” He smirked at you, enjoying your nervous expression as you let out a breath you hadn’t realized you were holding.
“Thank Sothis for that, I really stressed over making it for you.” He chuckled at your words, and pulled you in for a kiss, you squeaked in surprise but eagerly kissed him back.
“Next time, we can do without the sweets. I don’t need a cake, or anything fancy like that.” His cheeks flushed a bit as he gulped, and you knew he was going to say something cheesy.
“You’re more than enough, after all.” And you were correct. You giggled, watching him try to face away from you, hiding his own embarrassment.
“I’m sorry, could you say that again, Felix? I didn’t quite catch that~” You teased
“Shut up, and wipe that grin off your face. I’m not repeating myself.” He huffed at you, gently swatting you away from him.
A laugh slipped out of your lips, as you looked at him lovingly with adoration in your eyes; teasing him like this and getting him worked up did things to your heart. It made you more giddy. “Happy birthday... I love you, Felix” You simply responded, once again moving closer to him.
He rolled his eyes, “I love you too, idiot.”
HBD Felix🎂
i found your fic with diminutive name for dimitri and just thought you might like to hear some that we use for this name perhaps? 👀 dima, dimochka, mitya, dim, dimulya 👀 👀
I’ve heard of some of these, but not all of them! I hadn’t realized he had so many. Thank you for enlightening me, anon! I wonder, which one everyone likes the most. I used Dimi because I think it sounds really cute.
Also, while I’m responding to this ask, I’d like to assure everyone that I’m still alive and well, the lack of posts is due to college. I’ve had some big projects to work on, which has left me with very little free time. I’m hoping to be writing more soon!
Also, happy belated valentines day to all of you lovelies! I hope you spent the day in a way that makes you happiest! I spent my valentines day ordering pizza, as my own treat to myself. I also attempted to make chocolate truffles... Keyword being attempted. The... the consistency... It tasted amazing, I mean, it’s chocolate but erm... It almost had a mochi texture. I’ve considered turning my chocolate making experience into a fic for one of the FE3H boys, despite it being past Valentines day. If you guys are interested in me writing that, then feel free to comment a character, or send an ask if you’d like to remain anonymous!
