âBecause if anyone should be apologizing and asking for forgiveness, itâs me.â He answered. Perhaps it was just that this was something that was over and done withâan unchangeable event of the pastâthat made the path to this forgiveness somewhat easier. He wasnât Barry, who could run into the past and fix this problem, but in hindsight, that would only cause this problem to become even more of a disaster.Â
Oliver nodded in reply, because if he spoke, he would only end up repeating what he said last night and ignite the same argument once more. He would show through his actions, not words, that heâd ease that hurtâthat he loves her with all of his being. He grinned at her and leaned in to kiss her. âAs much as I deserve it, Iâm glad your commitment was lacking.â
â yeah, well, it might stick next time. you never know. â she leaned into the kiss, happy to receive one so early in the morning. fanning her fingers out over his rib cage, the tips of her fingers drew idle runes on his flesh. â your son is a part of you. to be angry about his existence just doesnât make sense. i know you have your reasons for keeping yourself out of his life, and i disagree, but i can respect your choice. â she tucked her hair back.
â of course, now youâre going to have to take me out to breakfast. and i want to go somewhere good. â she leaned up to kiss a scruffy chin, before moving to sit up a little more along the lines of his body. â i have the day off from work, what about you? â sheâs eager to move past the argument, eager not to be angry anymore.
