steam cleaner landmine
Outlets in the middle of the floor aren't uncommon, though they usually are metal so that stepping on them doesn't cause critical damage.
But you do make a good point about the steam cleaner...

girlfriend: What's that package there? me: The family negatives, I brought it home by mistake when I thought it was summer camp photos. girlfriend: You scanned all the family negatives. Why don't you throw them out? me: Why do you have a DVD collection? girlfriend: Because you can't rely on the streaming services to keep... Oh, okay.
Reblog and put in the tags the last full album you listened to
Only the second Wendy's I've seen with Windows 11 crash screens on their menu board that stay there for days because the managers don't actually have access to that computer.
The fact that this is completely incomprehensible to me makes it funnier than if I could understand it
skill issue. i understand it completely
When you don't even need a caption to know the song.
My latest thrift posts are more popular than the ones I made back in May!
It's definitely the autism raccoon shirt and the vaporwave hoodie that have won over the crowd.
dont take bird noises for granted
next time ur outside and you hear birds just think about how awesome that is and how much it would suck if they were gone

i ❤️ faceless character designs like yesss keep the mask on… Obscurity is so hot
“what if you could see their face” well i neither want nor need any of that. i’m right where i want to be
Actually, this is a thing. Blue Man Group has been performing for years in blueface because the idea is that all players are equal, which does allow there to be 3 onstage at any time but 5 total on the set. Art of Noise performed with theatre masks for the first few albums because they wanted people to focus on the art and not the artist. KISS had their visual personnae like Sleep Token does, leaving people wondering about the men behind the music, and when KISS decided to unmask they lost much of their appeal with the public (truthfully this wasn't the only factor in that). The saying is "always leave them wanting more."
Was sent an emoji as a reply but it was too small onscreen to see what it was supposed to be, so I pasted into Google for identifcation and...
BITCH, I WASN'T TALKING TO YOU. BUTT OUT.
Probably the best band name I've heard today.
Bought a new card reader for my computer -- the stock one forgot how to work with SD's, and I added a USB 3.2 PCI-E card with a 19-pin riser on the back end inside recently -- and this is what My Computer looks like now with all slots empty, all slots and the reader's USB jack full, and for grins the two frontside USB 3.0 jacks occupied also. If I really wanted to show off, I'd put sticks in the two frontside USB 2.1 jacks, the two jacks from the new USB 3.2 card, and the two USB 3.0 jacks on another PCI-E. And maybe I might still have one open USB jack on the back of the case beside where the mouse is plugged in. But anyhow.
staying close to someone who fails to love you right is truly damaging
The person I nearly broke up with due to a lack of empathy before a vacation together broke up with me near the end of the vacation.
making my 2012 computer better than yours (and the guestimated cost)
Upgraded from Win 10 to Win 11, a thing Microsoft didn't think was possible since it was never meant to get past Win 7. [Upgrade free; the computer was used from a thrift with 10 on it for $25]
Went from 4gb to 16gb RAM... and it is capable of 32gb, but sixteen gigs is still 3x-4x more RAM than I ever actually use at a time. [$50]
I should have done it years ago, but moved Windows from a mechanical drive to the M.2 card -- power-on to desktop went from 2 minutes to 20 seconds. [$30 for the card, transfer software free]
Swapped the 3.1ghz processor for a 3.4ghz. Probably cut a second off of the boot sequence. [$15]
The USB modem was changed from 1300 to 1800. Not just a speed boost but the antenna is better -- went from 2 bars with the bedroom door closed to 5 bars. [$25]
In the three PCI-E x1 slots: I already had a Firewire 300 card [$2] and a USB 3.0 2-port card [$20], and to catch up with modern technology got a USB 3.2 A (1 port) & C (1 port) card [$15] from Temu today.
A bonus on that last item: the other day I picked up a USB-C male to female extention cable at Habitat Re-Store [$5], so the C jack is on the side of the machine with the Amazon Basics A extention's jack [$5].
When my last UPS failed me circa 2018, I walked over to Costco to buy a new one [$100] and it worked great up until a couple weeks ago, when everything would just drop out without a beep when the overhead lights flickered. The 12V batteries were now holding 10V after twelve hours of charging and would somehow lose the charge if powered off for a second. The manual says these batteries are good for five years, so I think I got the lifespan out of them. Crossing fingers that the sudden drops are a battery issue and not a UPS hardware issue; ordered a couple new batteries [$26], received today and installed, and now all is well -- unplugging the UPS now results in beeps without the computer slamming shut, and it reports there are 74 minutes available to shut down the computer elegantly.
Since I don't game, I don't need to fiddle with the vid card / GPU. Since the core temperature is less than 50°C I don't need a cooler.
I don't know who I'm writing this for but I feel awesome about all this.
So funny story actually. One of my friends was hooking up with this girl, they were friends with benefits. She needed a date for some work party so he agreed to go with her. Turns out her dad owns like 3 dental practices and she worked as the business manager for one of them.
Anyway my friend had some not so nice teeth and during dinner the father of his fwb was like “you work where you work, you sleep with him and his teeth look like that? Get him an appointment.”and then bounced. So his fwb made him an appointment at the practice she managed and my friend ended up needing like 3k worth of dental work and his friend with benefits just gave it to him for free.
So that is the story of how my friend not only got sex, but dental out of the friends with benefits deal.
