Soooo annoyed that the goth tags are full of porn/fetishy pics. I just want to see my fellow spooky-black-clad-weirdos doing DIYs, making inside-jokes for other goths, talking about the subculture, recommending music, and all that fun stuff. There’s WAY more to goth than sex-appeal, and none of that stuff is catered towards actual goths, anyway, and y’all know it.

it’s so insane to me how people will be complete denial about the fact that goth is a music-based subculture. The amount of times I have seen people say “Well it doesn’t seem like goth has any defining bands like emo does all I can think of is Rob Zombie” or “well why don’t YOU tell us what bands have goth music” like goth music isn’t some deeply obscure genre that has it’s music locked behind a vault. It is so easy to google “goth bands” and find the foundational bands of the genre. It’s so easy to go on bandcamp and search up “goth rock”

It isn’t hard, y'all just want to pretend like our gatekeeping is physically stopping you from googling it yourself. Stop pretending like goth music doesn’t exist to justify - what exactly? The commodification of the subculture? wanting to call a melancholic song by a billboard top 100 artist goth? What are these people’s goal by saying they can’t find any goth bands?
