"I can't fuckin' find Bongwater." She's talking about her frog.
“You’re very fortunate I know you well enough to know that Bongwater is a frog and that this isn’t a drug induced trip from you. Where was your frog last?”

"Thanksgiving?" Caesar asks with a confused look on her face, pondering the idea. And more so the question behind it. "Aren't you British?" She asks with a tiny grin as she leans against the kitchen counter.
"I'm Italian. I think Thanksgiving is for North America... but if you just want to have a day where we get everyone we know together and tell them we love them I suppose we can throw a feast of more than thankful proportions. After all you know quite a few people if I'm not mistaken."
She thumbs over the newly cleaned countertop absentmindedly, wondering why Dio would want to thank anyone. He'd changed drastically since they met, but she's never heard him say any thank yous to anyone but her.
“Well, I figured I’d at least give the idea of thanksgiving a shot, I have many people to be thankful for, especially yourself.” He says, sitting on a stool in front of the counter. “You’ve done a lot for me and for that, I’m eternally grateful.”
“The thing is... I’m not sure who all we should invite.”
"Well who else are you grateful for? Thankful for? That priest maybe?" She asks as she sits down on the counter to to be at eye level with him. "You can invite anyone, you don't know many Americans and I don't think Hol Horse has anyone to celebrate with."
She leans over to pat his head, an adoring action that would get anyone else in a deal of trouble. Dio seemed to enjoy her gentle praises in this regard, having spent a deal of time reforming himself. For what reason she had no idea, but she was grateful.
“I’d say I’m thankful for Jojo...” he laughs to himself. “...but I can’t really invite him, can I? As for the priest, Pucci, I’d be delighted to have him join us, Hol Horse too.”
Dio would never admit it but the displays of affection from Caesar reminded him of what he used to be, human.
"Jojo is always watching over you, Dio." Caesar reminds him as she slips off the counter to walk around it and hug him. She rests her head on his chest, closing her eyes.
"He would be so proud of you.. you know?" Caesar reminds him. They'd talked a lot about his regretful actions, but she was sure Jonathan would be happy with how he's changed.
He sighs contently, no matter how much he could sulk and feel bad about his previous actions, nothing was more sobering to him than Caesar’s touch.
“I like to think he would be, he always was a firm believer in second chances...”
Caesar smiles, giving his nose a gentle poke. "Well Dio, I think even my grandfather would be proud of you now. You saved me after all."
She rests her head on his chest once again as her hugs grow in tightness. "You've become much sweeter than anyone anticipated you could be. Though I'd reccomend more sincere smiles towards others. Regardless of your intentions you look pretty menacing sometimes, il mio dolce amante."
Dio blushes, returning her hug. He tries his best to give a more sincere smile and ultimately succeeds, seeing as Caesar gives him no reason to fake a smile.
“How’s that? That good enough?”

"Explain to me your brilliant idea again. The one that involves me being here instead of at home taking a nap.."
“Oh but where’s the fun in that? I thought you liked surprises. Besides… you and I are going to have fun together.”
“No I mean.. it feels strange. Egypt is so advanced compared to Italy, I suppose..” She replies, standing up to go back to the window. She smiles down at the streets, her eyes wandering around the city. Something was definitely off. “You didn’t just bring me to Egypt, did you?” She asks quietly, looking back at him as a hand rests on the window.
“You’re quite observant… and correct too. This is not the Egypt of your time, this is what you could consider the future. Not only did I remove you from the island, I removed you from that year too. That is why I can’t return you.”
“I see..” Caesar sighs. “Well.. I suppose if no one in the past misses me I don’t mind staying here. Sorry I ended up disrupting your evil plans, but would you like to do something more fun?”
She asks as she returns to where they had sat, now choosing to sit beside him, smirking up at him. “I would like to know more about the future..”
“I’d be delighted to do something far more fun than kidnap someone tonight. What did you have in mind? What do you want to know?”
“Take me on a date.” She teases, leaning back against the couch as she brings her knees to her chest. “Show me the modern world.. and all that night life you talk about..”
She sighs, resting her chin on her knees. “So, do you know what happens to me? I think I’d be dead by now, what year is it?”
“A date? I can do that. First we’ll need to get you some new clothes… and yes, I do know what happens to you Caesar Zeppeli… you’re not alive in 1989, I’m sorry to tell you.” Dio puts an arm over her shoulder, how else are you supposed to console someone when you tell them they’re dead?
“But you’re here now, and we’re going to have a good time. So it doesn’t matter.”
“I figured.. what happens to me?” She asks quietly, looking up at him. It’s probably Joseph’s fault.
“Wait.. What’s wrong with my clothes?!” She asks, tilting her head to one side.
“You’re… not around anymore. I understand you and Joseph had a fight and you fell into a trap.”
DIO gives her a once over, she actually didn’t look that far off from the usual people he’d see.
“Well, not much, I’d just assume you’d want clothes from this era…”
Caesar rolls her eyes, slouching a bit. “Figures, Jojo is so insensitive sometimes.. Is he still alive today? I hope he doesn’t regret our fight too much..”
Caesar tugs at her jacket. “I dress well for my time period I think I’ll be okay, unless you have something you want me to wear.” She teases.
“He is, yes. I believe he does carry guilt over it, but I wouldn’t concern you with that…”
Dio laughs. “I’ll let you raid my wardrobe if you desire, maybe you’ll find something you like.” He says, standing up and extending a hand for her.
“I think your clothes are a bit too large for me..” She takes his hand, standing up with his help. “Maybe visiting stores can be part of our adventure tonight..”
This felt oddly nice, though Caesar can’t help but wonder if Dio would eventually return her to her fate. Nothing about the world would change if she’s dead or alive since she hadn’t lived much to change the world in any way.
“Money is of no issue, so feel free to buy whatever you like while we’re out.”
It had been a long time since Dio was able to properly spoil someone like this, he found himself grateful that he’d kidnapped the wrong person, maybe this was fate giving him a second chance.
“Oh?” She tilts her head, a smile spreading across her lips. “Whatever I like? How much for a smile?”
This man wanted Joseph dead, why was she flirting with him. It’s not like she had anything to lose if she were dead anyways. She might as well have fun even if he returns her to what awaits her in the past.
“That’s free, only for you though.” Dio says, smiling for her.
Why was he suddenly acting this way? Was it some attempt to make Joseph jealous if he ever saw him again? Or was he genuinely catching feelings for her?
Caesar can’t help but giggle, why was this so sickeningly sweet? He hadn’t been anything but kind to her, though saving her was a mistake. Sending her back wasn’t an option yet, so it wasn’t like he was trying to help.
Yet she couldn’t help but feel like the mistake was for a reason, maybe she herself was being given a second chance. Maybe she was the one who would help him. Regardless she was having fun.
“Should we go out then?”
“I believe we should.” He says, turning for the door with Caesar’s hand in his still, smiling all the way. Something about Caesar was bringing out some long lost side of him and he wasn’t sure why.
Caesar locks their fingers, pulling herself close to him to cuddle up close as they walked. Everything was so surreal but the circumstances most likely called it a nightmare. A vampire ripping her from time itself to go on a date.
What would he have done with Holly was the better question. She looks up at him curiously, tugging on his hand. “Dio..?”
Dio held her just as close, wanting to make sure she didn’t get lost of course, definitely nothing else.
“Yes, Caesar?” He asks after hearing her.
"Explain to me your brilliant idea again. The one that involves me being here instead of at home taking a nap.."

“You’re... not around anymore. I understand you and Joseph had a fight and you fell into a trap.”
DIO gives her a once over, she actually didn’t look that far off from the usual people he’d see.
“Well, not much, I’d just assume you’d want clothes from this era...”

“You would thinks so, huh?” She looks up at him, finally able to see his face. His name and face all at the same time, at least she knew something now. “He’s always been so stubborn and insensitive, though I can’t say I’ve been much better for him. I don’t think he likes me too much, but he likely won’t come here to rescue me on account of I can kick his ass so if I can’t save me he definitely can’t. “ She explains, sitting in the chair with her legs crossed. “So, Dio.. Do you want to tell me where we are at least? Since I’m not exactly here for your master plan, so sorry to disappoint.” She asks, resting her chin in her hand as she stares into his eyes. Still she couldn’t help but wonder, what would this man want with Suzie? Well probably what most people want from her, but something more obviously. One Pillar Man in Suzie was enough for one lifetime.
“Frankly I can’t stand how Joseph acts towards those around him, he’s a spoiled kid. He lives as though there are no consequences for his actions. His attitude is going to get someone killed one of these days.”
Dio leans back in his chair, obscuring his face in shadow once more. His face couldn’t betray him with emotion if she couldn’t see it.
“We’re in Egypt. This is my home, I can arrange for you to stay while I try to work out how to return you, provided you wish to return.”
“Probably me. I can’t stand him sometimes.” She replies with a soft giggle. Why was she laughing? Well maybe it was comforting to know people agreed with her on Joseph’s attitude. Though perhaps a little too much, he did want to kill Joseph.
“Egypt huh? It looks so strange.. for it to be Egypt.. there are so many lights. I’ve never seen so many, actually..” She says, glancing towards the window.
“Why would someone so susceptible to sunlight live in Egypt?” She asks, looking back at him as the moonlight made her eyes sparkle. For the few moments she could see him she could tell this might be dangerous, he was rather handsome.
“It’s quiet, nobody bothers me here. Besides, it’s the last place you’d expect someone weak to sunlight to be. As far as the lights... Egypt has quite the busy night life.”
It was a shame Joseph would ultimately drive her to an early grave, Dio couldn’t help but feel an attraction to her.
