Share files from PC to Android with ES File Explorer
Many people ask me how to transfer the data from windows to android hence I publish this article. Today we will see how to transfer files from a computer running Windows 7 (valid for any version of Windows) to an Android device by using a Wi-Fi network without using cables and thanks to applications that work with the SMB (Samba) protocol. such as 'ES File Explorer'
Before transfer the file from Pc to android we need android device with ES file explorer as well as windows PC with Es file explorer. Modem or Routers is also needed to connect these device with each other.
First of all we will make sure that our 2 computers are connected to the same network, and that they have been assigned a correct IP.
Next we will install ES File Explorer on our Android device . (
The next thing will be to create a new folder on our Windows computer where we will move the files to share and serve it on the network. To do this, once the folder is created, we right-click on it and select 'Properties' , we go to the 'Share' tab > 'Advanced sharing ...
In the next window that will be shown to us, we activate 'Share this folder' and click on 'Permissions'
In the new window we click on 'Add ...' and in this last window we will write our username, then we click on 'Check names ...' and we will see how the name of the computer is added, thus giving the path of the network directory , finally we close the window by clicking on 'OK'
Once our username appears in the previous list, we select it and check the 3 lower boxes corresponding to the permissions, 'We apply' and 'We accept'.
In the next window that remains open, we click on 'Apply' and 'OK' again.
Now all that remains is to access the folder using ES File Explorer and for this, once inside the application, we scroll laterally until we find the 'LAN' tab , add a new server giving the 'New' icon and fill in the fields as follows:
Domain : Network computer name (not mandatory)
Server: IP / Route : IP address of the machine. You can check your IP by pressing:
The value of 'IPv4 Address ...' is the IP that corresponds to your machine. So in my case the value for the 'Server' field will be: 192.168.1.129
It would also be valid to add a bar '/' and the name of the folder that we have shared: 192.168.1.129/Shared Files
Password: Password corresponding to the aforementioned user
Show as: This will be a simple identifier that only we will see in the list of servers in ES File Explorer.
We click on 'OK' and if everything went well, we will see our server added to the list, it only remains to navigate to the desired folder and copy the files there. These files will be updated on the 2 computers.
There is a fast way to transfer data from PC to Android and vice versa. I am sure you understand.
