Reading Challenge 2026
(I'm setting the bar extremely low this year: 12 books each for a month. I'll try to put some distance between myself and my phone during summer so that I can, hopefully, focus on reading more books.)
1. Heated Rivalry (2019) by Rachel Reid
Read this book purely out of curiosity after watching the hit show by Crave. I enjoyed it but mainly because now I have a clear vision provided by the show about what scene is happening. Had I read it independently I wouldn't even have made it through the whole book. Was originally gonna give it 2 stars but now I'm adding an extra because it planted the seeds for something incredible.

2. The Long Game (2022) by Rachel Reid
Well well well, what a surprise! After basically crawling through Heated Rivalry I never expected the sequel to be this good! The Long Game is superior in terms of character depth, story pacing and its depiction of difficult issues. I cried twice, mostly due to the fact that I was in a sappy mood, but also because these characters and the overall escapist paradise are worth swooning over. And, yeah, I'm really looking forward to Season 2. I hope the whole crew is well to deliver their fucking best.
