fly agaric, scientific name: amanita muscaria

the genus (category of mushroom there is ~600 in this one) amanita is named after the most potent toxin in most of the deadly amanitas, alpha-amanitin, and those measly 600 species are responsible for ~90-95% of fatal cases of mushroom poisoning (different than deaths from fungi)

it is possible to die from this species, but you have to eat quite a lot of them. there have been no reliable documented cases of death via this species in the past 100 years (according to the North American Mycological Association)

it is also psychoactive, but considering the fact that it is poisonous it is definitely a bad idea and you should go to the doctors if u ate this lol
