Cap strode towards the console, pressing a few buttons. The Earth came into view, accompanied by stars spotting its surroundings.

Sean chuckled slightly. As someone who had actually been dead, it hurt. It was just dark. Terrifying. Or maybe it had just been Anti’s illusion. He still wasn’t sure - but he fought hard to come back.

“Death is…something else. It’s hard to explain.”

“I’m sure it is. But, personally, I don’t know that yet. And that’s what excites me. Doesn’t it to you, too?”

“The only way to get rid of someone like Zeit is to destroy them entirely.”

“At this point, that’d probably kill me.”

Cap sighed, looking down to his hands on his knees.

“And I’m not ready to die yet.”

Of course. Cap didn’t have anyone to bring him back from the dead. Sean was one of the lucky ones. He came back. The only way he could have beaten Anti was succumbing to his wills.

“I understand. Death is scary”

Cap suddenly stood up from his chair, assuming a hero’s stance.

“It’s the unknown that excites me. It just... fills me with this sense of excitement to not know what’s next.”

“Just stay focused. That’s what helped me” Sean muttered, offering a hand to Cap.

“It’s scary. Seeing someone else…like me. I know Mark had his issues - but I’ve never seen Darkiplier. Not like I just did.”

“Hasn’t always been this way.”

Cap pulled up a chair from the console to sit down in.

“After he pulled that chameleon routine on me, I had to find a way to capture him - to not let him hurt anyone else. For lack of a better word, absorbing him was the only way I could do so.”

“Don’t listen to Zeitgeist. Listen to me. Stay here. Fight back. You need to be here. Talk to me, Cap” Sean said, raising his voice slightly in the feeble hope that it would overshadow Zeit’s voice. “Take control. Please.”

“I’m trying to...”

Cap put his hands to his face, taking in a deep, shaky breath before letting it go.

“I think I might have him suppressed... For now.”

Sean knew this. The internal battle between self and alter - the constant fighting. He wiped the blood from his throat, shaking slightly as stood to his feet. He beat Anti once, he could beat Zeitgeist.

“Cap? Can you hear me?”

“Yes- help m-me out-”

“ S҉h̛u̕͟t҉̸ ̷̛i̵̵͟t͜͟,̵ ҉c҉̕u͏͟n͏t!̴ “

Cap struggled against Zeit, fighting for control of the vessel. He- they continued to thrash about, Zeit throwing insults at the other.

“Yes! Yes I am. Antisepticeye replaced me. Killed me. Tortured me. ZEITGEIST please let me go!”

Zeit let go of Sean’s wound in exchange of holding his head, falling backwards and thrashing around. He started to argue with himself - the black markings upon his face shrinking back to their previous position.

Sean pulled away, not wanting to feel his fingers on his throat. Not again. His blood was pouring out once more. He was loosing control. His vision misted, a tear falling from his left eye.

“P-Please. Take me home.”

“ I̛͝ ͝d҉i͜d̛̀͞n't̢̧ ͘͏͘h҉͏eaŕ̢͡ ̵̕a͏̸͘n͠ ̕a̕n̵s̵̷̴w̴͢er҉̶̀.̧͏̨”

Zeit put pressure onto the wound, opening it more.

“ N̨ǫ̧r̴͢ ͘͠d̴̡͘i͏d͟͝ ̛I̢ ̛͜͠h̀͟e͡a̕ŗ ͏҉y҉o͞u.̡́͢ ͘͜S͡͏a͠ỳ.̛͘ ̸͝I͟͜t.̀ ̨Ag҉̨͘a̧͘i͘n̴͟.”

“Zeitgeist?” Sean repeated the name - terrified. “Your voice sounds like…Antisepticeye. He killed me before. Yo-You’re scaring me.”

Zeit chuckled at the admittance of a fact he already knew. He reached a gloved finger down to trace the scar upon Sean’s throat.

Sean opened his eyes, breathing heavily. He swallowed - realising what had happened. It wasn’t a dream - Anti had possessed his friend, and he was going to kill him again.

“P-Please, Anti. Not again.” Sean gasped between desperate breaths.

“ N͘o͏t́ sure͡ ͘wh͠oev̧e͠r̢ the̢ h͡ell҉ it ҉is ҉you̢'r͢e ͏ta̢l̸k̸ing about.̧ “ Zeit replied, raising an eyebrow at the human’s display of terror.

Sean realised. Oh god - he realised. That voice, those corrupted tones which pierced every fibre of his being. He could feel his throat opening up again. Anti was back. In front of him. Killing him. And he couldn’t do anything to stop it.

He tried to scream, but the air didn’t come. He frantically tried to breathe.

And then his body gave up for him.

“ I̸’́l̶l ͡take̶ ͝t̸h͝a̧t̶ a͢s ̀a̛ no̸.̷ ”

Zeit rolled his eyes, returning his attention to the spacecraft that was rapidly approaching. A moment later, they arrived; Zeit laid the unconscious Irishman on the cold floor - waiting for him to wake up.

“Of course - I’d be glad to let you show me”

Cap took in a deep breath before letting it go. He then mustered up strength to carry Sean with him as he launched straight up into the air, heading towards the upper atmosphere at an alarming rate.

Sean clenched his jaw, trying to keep quiet. They were going fast. Oh, God they were going fast. His mind was going so fast, he couldn’t think at all.

He looked to Sean, a cocky smile cracking his face as they made their way to the last strands of viable air were stripped away - leaving nothing but empty space to the two.
