“Sean?” Ian called out, putting his ear against the door. “You done?”

“Ah! You must be... er, Jack, am I right? I’ve heard much about you. I think.”

Ian had been living with Sean for a few weeks - possibly even a month - at this point. Whilst he couldn’t work or even leave the house, he helped out the Irish Youtuber in smaller, simpler tasks that he could handle; cleaning up the apartment was his favorite thing to do, as long as there was something modern in the background to keep his mind and ears occupied.
Today was one of the rare days he was all alone. Sean had left the apartment to do god knows what, and left Ian home alone. To alleviate the boredom in his absence, Ian turned on the radio he kept on the counter in the kitchen and started tidying up the mess from the night before - from-scratch pizza, which he cooked all by himself.
He had nearly finished up [all that was left to do was dry the stovetop and put the cleaning supplies away, really] when an all too familiar sound dominated over a song when he accidentally bumped the antennae.
White noise.
Ian’s gut sank as the creeping dread crawled its way into his nervous system. He immediately felt nauseated and weak, not unlike the experiences he had in the Void when he was being punished for doing something wrong. His chest tightened, his throat constricted, and his knees shook as he started to walk - wobble - crawl to the living room, where soft cushions and pillows offered a respite from the terror of the white noise.
All Ian could really do now was wait. Wait, and hope that Sean would be home soon to turn the damn thing off.

“Hey, come on. I don’t exactly like getting my feet wet either, but we gotta cross to the other side somehow.”
Robin cautiously eyed the old wooden bridge that was slung across the river. She was sure it would sink as they crossed, and when the person accompanying her to civilization had voiced his concerns, she begrudgingly agreed to them. But they had to keep going if this man wanted to make it to the nearest city before sunset.
After dark was when the monsters came out.
