ok, i'm so sorry this is late, we've got finals week goin' on, but i love that idea! here it is :]
some things about this woman worry everyone
i mean, who openly decides to work in cryo?
she started working later, trying to be as busy as possible so she wouldn't be close to the captain but could watch from a far
she doesn't know how to handle this
she almost forgets about the colonists completely
she starts to hang out in the viewing area for the colonists more. that's where her and captain would hang out
you two would sit there for hours, just looking out at all of the lives they were responsible for, just talking about everything and nothing
one day you find her there
before celci can notice them, you take it all in, feeling oddly familiar
as celci is lit up from the glow of the ship, a single tear falls, and almost immediately, the captain is over wiping it away
with a simple muttering of the word 'kelv', the captains old nickname for celci, everything comes rushing back
he takes this a lot better than he would your death
he doesn't care if you don't remember him, at least you're alright
still, there's some sad poetry, but nothing too extreme
one day, you find some of the poetry
something... ignites in your brain
you don't know what, but as burt appears behind you, all you can do is enclose him in a hug
that's when memories seem to appear
as soon as your memory was gone, he knew it
he tried to act like it didn't effect him when others asked, but everyone knew that was a lie
instead of mourning over your 'loss' he made friends with you again, even if you didn't remember him
talking to you everyday, gunther was determined to make up for lost time
one day, you found him in ADS listening to your favorite song
he was singing along to the words, the ones he knew, that is
seeing him do this made you remember all of the times you two would mess around in ADS, gunther teaching you how to use the equiptment
as soon as you could, you walked over, grabbed the controls, timed the shot to the beat, and destroyed an asteroid, just like you used to with gunther
this caused him to grab you from behind and hug you tightly, this is the only time he had shown a genuine moment of weakness to anyone in a long time
everyday, once he was done with his job, he would watch you from a distance
nothing bad, just like a lost puppy
he would still make your coffee for you every morning
he felt like crap for missing you
i mean, it's not like he was any of the core four, why should he think he's important for that
all of those times you two hung out outside of work? sure, he missed those (he missed them so very much), but how was he sure that you weren't just bored looking for something to do and he was a last resort?
yeah, he was crying and talking to himself about this, ouch
i mean, who wouldn't wanna hang out in life support for a good cry?
though, it's a little less enjoyable when the captain walks in
hearing him say that them hanging out was 'probably nothing' and that he 'wasn't as important' felt like a punch in the gut to you
you felt the need to assure him that wasn't true. you didn't know why or how you knew, but it wasn't true.
so as you walk in and see mack crying, surrounded by the greenery, something clicks in your mind
after a lot of tears from you both, you hug, and everything goes back to normal
as soon as your memory's gone, mark runs over to you
'surely you remember me, cap! i-i'm your second in command! your partner in crime! the head engineer!'
safe to say you didn't remember
he avoided you for awhile
yknow teenage girls crying and eating ice cream on their bed while watching sappy movies after a breakup? that was mark
he didn't even have enough motivation to go fight with celci, which was odd
eventually, that came back!
he was messing with celci, calling her the ever famous name of 'asshat' when you came around the corner
immediately you ran over and grabbed mark by the back of his collar
sitting him down on the ground, you called for chica
ruffling his hair, all of your memories come back
mark ends up throwing you a huge party with the rest of the crew to celebrate your memories coming back
'are you... are you serious? you don't remember me? get up y/- captain. you're making a fool of yourself.'
once again, you didn't remember
mack became more short with you than before
however, that was just during work days
during the nights, you two would hang out in the bridge, as mack worked with you on getting your memory back
simple things like flashcards and whatnot
'm, i really don't think this is going to work, i mean i don't really have any memories of this stuff, it's just relearning it now'
as you continue to go on a rant, mack stops, looking very surprised
you haven't called him 'm' since you lost your memory
'y/n, who is this?' 'that's celce, duh'
'(nickname), who is this?' 'that's eggman'
'y/n you haven't called any of them that since you lost your memory!'
the rest of the night is spent as you two recovering the rest of your memory
