sunday
young and drowsy stretches up flashes of museum art dreams frogs and flour a measuring cup grey tea dregs and dust mote streams
time is liquid time is lost aching back last night’s mem’ries half-work half-smile fingers crossed framed short story’s slow cloud seas
bless his winded selflessness soft armchairs and lukewarm drinks tickle one parenthesis who cares of what tomorrow thinks
Seasons
Lately I feel like I don’t know anything
Or at least not the way I used to
Like I’ve forgotten life changes season to season
Each year each one is the same
But now I’m rediscovering their holdings
I feel autumn coming on
Just as the leaves fall to the ground
A new pattern decorates the floor
And by the way I look at these colors,
you would think I’m seeing them for the first time
And then I feel it at the tip of my nose
Cold, red, and numb it stays
Until I slip into the proper attire
And with that into the holiday season
Where the wind, snow, and music carry me months away
Then one day I notice it’s too hot for wool
Still it rains down the next day
In the weeks following I see a dandelion, then several more
Yellow is the springtime
High hopes grow with the flowers as the flowers outgrow the weeds
One morning sees the sun shining before I even open my eyes
Maybe that’s how I’m supposed to know
And just like that every day gets longer without my noticing
Eventually I’m just spending the time I have left in the sun
Feeling like it’s wrong if summer is ever over
And though this has happened all the same for my lifetime
And many lifetimes before mine
This year the cycle was different
Or maybe I was changing along with the seasons
And I hadn’t realized until now what had become of me
and hundreds of times a day
in my head
i write a letter to you
sometimes it starts with your name
sometimes you’re just a mysterious figure
or maybe it’s a rambling half way through
but every time I get to writing
the message gets lost in the logistics
the nonsensical transition from one idea to another
the words that don’t quite say what I mean
the constant feeling like I’m introducing this grand idea
the idea that i feel some way about you that can’t be held by words
but never getting to the point
because i can’t
and sometimes i wish i had the devices
to record the things that echo in my mind
so that one day you might understand
the depth of this consuming force
that is my love for you
though you think i’m too old
to be curious, to wonder
i’m still honest about the things i don’t know
i ask things you think i shouldn’t talk about
and i’m still innocently offensive as if i don’t know
i’m still distracted by pretty colors
by the time my mind is here
my body has taken me somewhere else
to the point where i stray so far off course
that i can’t remember where i started
i still want to play with toys
to have something to hold in my hands
maybe it’s a waste of ten minutes
but it’s worth it if it keeps me entertained
i think about what it’ll be like
when i get to be what i want when i grow up
i see myself in every one of them
an astronaut floating around in space
a singer up on stage
a scientist with all the solutions
a firefighter emerging from the smoke
an actor starring in every movie
a philosopher with an answer to every question
though i know i’ll be anything but those things
i still play pretend
because i still want to
because my imagination still takes me to those places
and every night before i close my eyes
i like awake and stare at the ceiling
i lose myself in a train of thought
a series of golden scenarios
one day i’ll be a millionaire
what if i had everything i wanted?
this is what it would be like to be on top of the world
then i finally get so absolutely exhausted
that i just have to go to sleep
even though i didn’t want to
but i don’t mind it when my thoughts manifest into dreams
and i know that i’ll feel this way forever
like there’s always somewhere to go
and no matter how old i get
i’ll always wonder what life will be like when i grow up
because part of me never will
i’m still honest
i’m still innocent
i’m still easily distracted
i still play with toys
i still play pretend and make believe
i still dream and imagine
i’m still hopeful though you’re not so sure if i should be
i am still a child
and i refuse to be anything more or less
because i’d rather be off playing
and paying no mind to your scrutiny
than become part of your faceless horde
and walk around as if the worst thing that could happen to me is another day

Good friends, the sun, a good book of poems, a good pen, and a good laugh
when you feel your mind is filled enough, enough with words which were once wanted by your curiosity, but now those words are no more interesting, those words haunt you and taunt you, you are no more the “innocent “ you, now you are left with only one option, live in your shadows!
a million times thanks to @tempestuous09<3 for collaborating with me for the second time!
it was great a nice collab !
(and hopefully we did not take too much time like the first one )
I wish I never heard the truth
A collaboration with my writing bestie @cloggedwords. You are phenomenal, my friend ♥

Send in your pieces about love and I'll give them a reblog :)
You don’t just forget overnight. It’s a process, it takes time. Then when enough time passes, one morning you’ll wake up thinking of them and realize it’s the first time you have in a while.

I have a new poem up in the newest issue of Typehouse Magazine :)
Amber Fox, 16, mother has recently passed away.
Now must join a public school after being homeschooled until now.
What happens when on your first day you spill your tray on the hottest guy at school?
Yeah… I’m Royally Screwed.
