OPEN THE FLOOD GATES
Leviticus (2026)
posting another scene, because you liked the first one so much. please support the movie now in cinemas or on digital when it drops!!!
I am obsessed with them
Ok dustbowl
i didn’t catch this on my first viewing but ryan and naim’s conversation as they’re leaving the abandoned mill is making me genuinely miserable. i can’t recall the exact dialogue but naim asks ryan something to the effect of have you ever been there before? and ryan replies to the mill? no, that was my first time. again i can’t quite recall but i think naim responds with something like me too.
ryan is oblivious here, he’s taking naim completely at face value. nope, never been there before. and we can see the way a little of the tension leaves naim, a relaxing around the shoulders, because he’s hearing meaning ryan didn’t intend. you’re my first. there’s no one else. and ryan quickly follows it with don’t tell anyone, yeah? it’s to be their secret—the kiss and their new haunt, and of course the fact that ryan is gay. naim is more than happy to oblige, not only because he doesn’t want to be outed, but this is the first time since moving to this stupid town that he has something which isn’t just his own.
so when naim rounds the corner at ryan’s house and sees hunter there, sees them kiss with this ferocious intensity, naim thinks ryan lied. the strength of their connection, the tender gentleness of their kisses, ryan’s goofy smiles, they all turn sour and curdle his stomach not because he’s simply jealous, but because he’s been betrayed. and so, petty and heartbroken, he does the most betraying thing he can think of. he tells someone.
someone said "ryan wanting to do cute shit with naim like take photobooth pics" and i'm now realising that the interaction ryan had with the entity that naim witnessed was ryan just thinking his crush wanted to take him out to a cute date. someone will see us. are you sure? even though everybody knows about me? you want to go anyway? ok :) FUCKING KILL ME
after the funeral, naim finds ryan outside. i don’t know what to do, he stammers. ryan reaches for him and he surrenders, seeking the warmth of his lips, the way ryan’s hands frame his neck and jaw, the easy press of their bodies. when they kiss, there’s a desperation in it. it’s two bodies reassuring one another—i’m here with you, i forgive you, it’s going to be okay. they clutch at each other, both of them on the edge of tears, before the entity wraps it’s hand around naim’s throat. at the screen door, ryan promises naim that he’ll stay outside until arlene returns. he leans his head against the wire and raises his hand to touch naim’s through it, pressing together as much as possible through the barrier between them. even though naim knows it’s not really ryan, he leans in and savours it anyway.
what ryan’s entity gives naim is comfort. it’s reassurance, and an acknowledgment—i know how you’re feeling and it’s okay. i know that you’re upset and i’m here for you. it’s all of the unwavering support that he can’t find anywhere else, not even from his own mother. it’s the promise that this can be something which feels good, which makes him happy, which fulfills him and restores him. it’s the proof that a life with ryan is one that can bring him safety and comfort even in the most difficult circumstances. the entity’s betrayal in these moments is horrific because it’s violatory. it strikes when naim has surrendered completely, his guard absolutely lowered and his heart bared. naim is a boy who has spent his entire life fearing this part of himself. the entity coaxes him to bare it and then punishes him for it.
"i want it to look like you."
"it will never be me."
"please tell me it's really you."

scariest hj ever <3
STACY CLAUSEN as Ryan Leviticus (2026)
im so crazy abt them. the way they look at each other oh my GODDDD
as silly goofy fun as it is to joke about naim "getting rid of hunter" i'm going to be a party pooper and say i think naim carries the guilt for hunter's death till the day he dies. he was distraught talking to the counselor at the police station, begging them to do something bc he was the only witness to the horrific thing that happened to hunter and knew it was coming for ryan next. and whether or not it was his fault, naim knows it was his jealousy and selfish decision to out them that set the events in motion that ultimately cost hunter his life. naim leaves the town behind and moves on, but i don't think he ever fully forgives himself.

going from “it’ll never be me.” to “please tell me it’s really you.” was crazy work and I don't think I'll ever recover
