FUCK. honestly just FUCK. We missed a very important day yesterday.
what was yesterday, cat?
I’m not missing it this year.
I don’t know
reminder that george floyd wasn't a martyr who sacrificed his life for the betterment of white people
he didn't choose to die. he didn't sacrifice himself. he was murdered in cold blood
white people are already twisting this, thanking him for his sacrifice like he decided to be brutally murdered by a white cop for existing as a black man
like. stop thanking him for being killed just because it made you open your eyes! it was never his responsibilty to make you take a stand against police violence and racial profiling in the first place
you want to make something out of his death? acknowledge that it was senseless and never should have happened in the first place! stop glorifying this murder
I decided to compile a list of wonderfully dated 2000s cartoon theme songs. rated in no particular order.
starting with: kim possible
as much as I loved this show growing up, the line "call me beep me if you wanna reach me" is just about as dated as you can get in this century. overall, a total bop. 8/10 I'd rate it higher but I'm still salty about the ending of the serries.
next up: proud family
this song is absolutely listenable on it's own. in terms of dated-ness it's pretty high up there. reminds me of basically every R&B song back then, and I'm not complaining tbh. it's super catchy, 9/10 for being kinda corny.
our next contender: teen titans
this is one of those songs that always hyped me up, it has that new internet age quality about it that I find very endearing. 8/10 for the line "teen titans go!" leading to the serries of the same name.
next up: all grown up
I used to really like this show, despite the fact that it's obviously just a shallow cash grab with pretty bland episode plots. (don't hate me) 5/10 for being stuck in my head for over a decade every time I hear the phrase "all grown up" and also for having the most cliche and corny "I'm a teenager" lyrics known to man, aside from
6teen
holds up pretty well, but the general vibe is kinda too generic pop-punk for me. great show though. 7/10
and now another one from the same band that made the teen titans theme: hi hi puffy amiyumi
what can I say, this shit rocks. it sounds like japanese greenday. another themesong that hyped me up so much as a kid. 100/10
next up: danny phantom
that baseline is killer. another hype you up themesong. despite how catchy the lyrics are, it's way too 90s for the 2000s and gives off "hello fellow kids" vibes. also fuck bitch fatman. anyways, danny is trans. 9/10 super fun to sing along to.
I don't remember this show very well but: class of 3000
yet another hype you up theme, the 00's had a lot of those. anything from Andre 3000 is gold, but what's with that london bridge section? this one's a special kinda dated that I wouldn't mind coming back. 9/10
you might say "that's not that old" to this one, because its aesthetic is pretty modern, but: phineas and ferb
I love how it's just as funny as the show. ska punk meets disney. it is definitely starting to sound pretty old these days. 10/10
and finally, not because I'm out of ideas but because this is getting long: static shock
(⚠️seizure warning⚠️)
I could listen to this on repeat for hours! despite it being basically late 90s early 00s in a nutshell, it's still fresh as hell. there's also a few different versions that are peak early 2000s as well. 1000/10
Men will literally have the worse possible circumstances but still expect a woman to be attracted to them. Their esteem is built differently.
DIFFERENTLY!
..............yea I’mma leave this one alone
Garbage.
So he has FOUR kids but she shouldn’t have any? Lord please give me the self esteem/gall of mediocre men. Amen.
I’m shocked he really thought he was going somewhere with this...
How they’re reading that profile:
Bullet dodged
Bullet dodged
Poor kids
SWIPE RIGHT ALREADY.
.... how did he get four kids? Bullet dodged.
35 and already got four kids
Ten bucks says he don't even have custody of the kids like that lmao.
And those are the four he only told us about lmao
That’s like my cousin telling his brother who’s having housing issues right now to go get a girlfriend. Like his solution is to find a woman and move in on the shit she worked for instead of maybe helping his brother smh
do not separate them…..

22 YEARS AGO ON DECEMBER 18, 1998 - DREAMWORKS ANIMATION RELEASED “THE PRINCE OF EGYPT”
Because DreamWorks was concerned about theological accuracy, they decided to call in Biblical scholars, Christian, Jewish, and Muslim theologians, and Arab American leaders to help the film be more accurate and faithful to the original story. After previewing the developing film, all these leaders noted that the studio executives listened and responded to their ideas, and praised the studio for reaching out for comment from outside sources.
The animation team for The Prince of Egypt included 350 artists from 34 different nations. Careful consideration was given to depicting the ethnicities of the ancient Egyptians, Hebrews, and Nubians properly.
Both character design and art direction worked to set a definite distinction between the symmetrical, more angular look of the Egyptians versus the more organic, natural look of the Hebrews and their related environments. The backgrounds department, headed by supervisors Paul Lasaine and Ron Lukas, oversaw a team of artists who were responsible for painting the sets/backdrops from the layouts. Within the film, approximately 934 hand-painted backgrounds were created.
