i’ve seen a lot of people say shinigami eyes is terrible because it marks black trans ppls blogs red without reason and racist white trans women’s blogs greens for being trans women, uh is there any proof of this? heard it like 5 separate times today without proof but i dont wanna be using a bad extension
the sense of trans unity at the workplace has really been strained by you reporting your transmasc coworker for sexual harassment. can't trans women and trans men just have crazy sex instead of reporting each other to HR?
when I bring Transfem Voices Project back I'd like to have been able to develop some sense of distance from this disgusting twisted cruel targeted mockery of it
this whole situation has warped my perception of TVP retroactively and it does create a knot in my stomach. I think of bringing it back now and I can't help but think of how it would inevitably be entering into this existing conflict with its warped counterpart. TVP always existed in part as a response to the prevailing image of transfems as predators and never survivors, but that image was never supposed to be in the room with it. survivors were supposed to be able to speak without feeling that image looming over their shoulders. TGVP has given that image form and positioned itself as an equal counterpart, and so that image is very much looming over TVP's shoulder now
all I can do now is hope that the memory fades and that TVP can return into a space where it does not feel like it has to justify itself against TGVP. I think I can shoulder some amount of responsibility for this for letting TGVP continually goad me into conflict with it. I really hope time can heal this and that TVP doesn't exist in the shadow of TGVP forever. transfem survivors' voices deserve to stand on their own, they deserve to be centered
transmasc and transfem describe sex-gender positionality, not specific gender identity
"transmasculine" = trans people who were AFAB. we are viewed as transitioning "away" from cisfemininity, regardless of our specific gender identity.
my bestie (she/they) is a nonbinary woman. but she's not transfem! she was AFAB and thus is transmasc, despite not being masc-aligned in specific identity. realizing a nonbinary, androgynous, expansive vision of womanhood masculinizes them in the eyes of cispatriarchy. they are transmasculinized, and thus transmasc.
"transfeminine" = trans people who were AMAB. they are viewed as transitioning "away" from cismasculinity, regardless of their specific gender identity.
my sibling (any pronouns) is a gender-apathetic nonbinary person. even though she does not give a fuck about being gendered any kind of way, she was AMAB. and thus they're transfem even if they aren't a feminine-aligned (Or masculine-aligned) person, bcs realizing a nonbinary, androgynous, expansive vision of gender for a person AMAB feminizes them in the eyes of cispatriarchy . thus transfem
no, and framing labels used by trans people to communicate their transitions as just what someone is transitioning *away from*, regardless of what they are transitioning *towards*, indicates that you see someone's gender assignment at birth as the defining factor of their trans identity, rather than their present, preferred, or true gender. and defining transmasc/transfem as being dependent on whether someone is masculinized or feminized in the eyes of the *cisheteropatriarchy*, regardless of their identity, just completely ignores that this is also done to people of color, non-straight cis people, fat people, and disabled people - to name just a few groups - regardless of their identities.
furthermore, flattening transneutral, transandrogynous, and transxenic experiences and transitions into binary language AND insisting said transitions are categorically defined by one's AGAB is blatantly exorsexist.
I may not agree with the words because I don’t feel it communicates things the best, but OP is saying “here’s how you use these words to say your societal positioning”. Trans people transgress under the patriarchy. Transphobia is oppositional sexism. Our placement in society is defined by us transgressing.
What you’re going towards or from doesn’t matter because it’s all the same. You either are someone who should be over there but aren’t or you’re someone who should be over here but isn’t.
Also you hardly understand what you’re talking about here in terms of how the patriarchy views people. Also how is discussing the patriarchy somehow ? bad? What? I can’t say “society treats us these ways and views us as this”? What do you think academic discussions around oppression stem from? Ignoring the problem?
Anyways blah blah blah, we ARE talking about people’s experiences. You just think identity labels somehow change anything. You transgress as a trans person, and your experience is defined by how much or how little you transgress. Which way you are transgressing also matters when discussing your experience, especially since people transgressing towards womanhood & femininity are systemically oppressed under folk who are not.

i think a lot of our issues are semantics. people have identity labels and people have words to describe your position in society and too often do we disagree where the like between those two get drawn.
White trans women, like any other white person in any marginalized group, being racist will forever astound me. You will say all this bullshit but then when it’s about race suddenly we don’t get it?
You can talk about how it doesn’t matter if you’re oppressed by 💙 axis if you’re privileged by 🩷 axis you’re still privileged, but when people mention white privilege suddenly you pull out every excuse every trans-misogynist says to you? Pull yourself the fuck together.
!! This is a close-to-white tma person’s opinion about my own community, white losers who wanna attribute this uniquely to trans women as if not all white or close-to-white people can & do do this is can fuck off. <3 !!
If you are an "AFAB transfem" here are some affirmations
you're cis. that's cisgender. Trans women are women. You're being a transmisogynist by insisting otherwise. Trans women are born women. Trans women are biological women. You're the idiot. You're in the wrong. You are the queerphobe. You are not valid. You are cisgender. You do not need a pride flag. You are cis.
If you are a "transfem" here are some affirmations
you're male. that's being a man. Trans women are men. You're being a misogynist by insisting otherwise. women are born female. Trans women are biological men. You're the idiot. You're in the wrong. You are the sexist misogynist. You are not valid. You are male. You do not need a pride flag. You are a man.
"only those who have organs that can give birth deserve protections from misogyny" is just thinly veiled "a woman's value comes from her ability to give birth"
women who cannot give birth are treated as valueless and unworthy of protection, and thus face much more aggressive misogyny. misogyny is not only faced by women who can give birth. very far from it
being told you're lucky you can't get pregnant feels a little like being told you're lucky you can't get a job, to be quite honest.
yes, women are expected under patriarchy to perform this form of labour, and it is often involuntary or coerced, and usually physically grueling. yes, the proletariat as a class are constituted under capitalism by being forced to sell their labour-power to be used by someone else, contrary to their own interests, in alienating, life-negating conditions.
but no, being unable to get a job in a society that continually punishes those who fail to successfully market themselves as employees to the ruling class of capitalists is not lucky or a privilege. you should not tell the unemployed person who can't afford to eat that they're at least lucky they don't have to waste their time waiting tables.
and no, women who can't do the thing women are constantly punished for failing or refusing to do are not lucky. every moment we live in patriarchy we are punished for not measuring up to its definition of woman as birthworker, and that is misogyny.
A ciswoman views herself as on equal footing of trans men. They're both Females, so clearly they are in the female class. Ciswomen view trans women in the abstract, an idea of them. Even if a ciswoman says she “supports” trans women, they typically have no genuine material support. There is still the underlying idea that trans women are of the Male class. Ciswomen typically believe there is no way they could profit from the patriarchy, they do not believe in oppositional sexism in any true way. They are the oppressed class. The female class. They couldn’t possibly have ANY privilege.
Trans men can acknowledge that cis women are oppressed under the patriarchy, but also tend to recognize the boot on their neck from ciswomen. They recognize that transness is an additional marginalization that matters. Wether or not every trans man that realizes this understands that transphobia is a facet of the patriarchy and not some unconnected axis is dubious*, but regardless.. On average, trans men can acknowledge ciswomen are privileged above them.
Yet, when it comes to discussing their relationship to trans women, they go “well we are both trans, of course we are in the same class! The class of trans people! Cis men are patriarchs, cis women are oppressed by misogyny, then theres us oppressed by both!” and that’s IF they have even a smidgen of understanding of how trans people interact with the patriarchy, a lot still believe what ciswomen believe but that transphobia is just another axis that oppresses them in some other way, as if it were akin to saying a blk ciswoman is oppressed by a white ciswoman.
And if you try to discuss trans-misogyny to this group in any genuine way, they have the same reaction as ciswomen. ‘Because recognizing the boot on your neck is a lot easier than deconstructing the boots you wear. There is no inquiry on why others are citing statistics and trying to explain why they’re oppressed under you, there’s only a poor understanding of the patriarchy and an idea that to recognize you are privileged under the patriarchy is to ignore your oppression.
A ciswoman could NEVER acknowledge her privilege under the patriarchy, she is THE oppressed group. She is THE female class. She has nothing she needs to deconstruct and she will be forever incentivized to continue on in her ignorance. A trans man could NEVER be privileged above TMA people in the patriarchy, he is THE oppressed group. Female or trans, regardless what class he claims he is, there’s nowhere down from there. And he, too, will be rewarded when he sells out those below him.
The patriarchy has layers, and it wants you to pull the ladder up after you.
Quiz at the end of this for reading comprehension:
1.) What is trans-misogyny?
2.) What is OP’s view on how trans-misogyny interacts with the patriarchy?
3.) Is OP trying to say that ciswomen or trans men don’t experience oppression under the patriarchy? Cite from the text.
4.) What is the main idea of this post? What is it saying and to who? What message are you supposed to gain?
All I'll say is there's a reason people started harassing and getting mad whenever big "pro AFAB transfem" bloggers started saying they don't see how "AFAB transfems" without the literal intersex experiences y'all hold up for it being "valid" exist.
"Well yea I use this intersex experience, one that 99% of the people who experience it aren't tumblr-brained so they'd never call themselves fucking AFAB, to validify myself, but, like, i'm perisex/I have PMOS/etc so my experience has never been that not once🥰🥰🥰" like? okay.
like hey everyone intersex transfem here, y'all are terminally trans-misogynistic
