It’s that time of year again; spiced drinks, long wintery robes, and MAGIC! To bring about the holiday cheer (with a twist) we’re setting up a holiday event in the beautiful Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
This year we are also extending a hand to the students of Beauxbatons Academy of Magic and Durmstrang Institute to join us in Hogwarts while participating in the TRIWIZARD TOURNAMENT.
Event notice: This even will last from the 4th of December to the 31st of December to give everyone a chance to participate, set up character profiles/bios if they so wish, and take their time with finals/midterms and the holiday season.
Your character can be from either of the three schools: Hogwarts, Durmstrang, or Beauxbatons and can be aged up or down depending on whether you want to make them a professor, school staff, or a student! If you need to look help creating bios/profiles for this AU, feel free to use Aladdin’s bio as an example or take a peek at the DWRP!Hogwarts tag to see bios from a previous event involving the AU. You may also use this tag for open thread starters for this AU event.
If you wish to volunteer your character to be in the tournament, send the group blog a message whether as a student of Hogwarts, of Durmstrang or of Beauxbatons. REMINDER: Only ONE Student of Wizarding Age of Majority (17+) from EACH Wizarding School may participate in the tournament. This is on a first come first serve basis, but if no one wants to be in the tournament then we’ll just set out an NPC system. We’ll make a post about it so other members can refer to you (as in rooting for/against, observing, or starting threads with you) as a participant in the Tournament.
We will also be setting up a YULE BALL as it is tradition of the tournament, so feel free to find a date -- or even go stag with friends! Please note that Students Year 4 and up are allowed to attend the ball, but those Year 3 and under can only attend if invited by a Year 4 and up student.
There is no strict ruling on when each event of the tournament takes place so if you wish to jump around with yule ball threads, tournament / cheering for your player, and basic Harry Potter AU-themed threads you are free to do so! The participation in this event is completely optional, but the more the merrier -- and makes for more threads! Feel free to continue your regular threads while participating in this event as well.
We also would like to set up a date where we could watch one of the films (preferably the 4th since it has the Yule Ball and Triwizard Tournament) together as a group! So we’d love for your vote on when it would be the best day to do that and which movie(s) you wish to see! We’ll have another post about it in the near future.
