“Boo!”

Sayo had waited in complete silence until she heard the door open, which meant that Battler had more than likely returned. When it did open she didn’t hesitate to pop up from her crouched position, a pumpkin head mask held against her face.

It didn’t stay there long as she slowly lowered it, a sheepish grin on her face as she peered up at her boyfriend. “So, did I scare you?”

Now this boy is probably unknown, but he still holds a special place in my heart; Virid from Beyond the Beyond.

He was a short lived muse, but not for lack of trying. It’s just really hard to keep an unknown character afloat on Tumblr, especially when literally no one roleplays Beyond the Beyond because it’s so unknown. It’s not the best manga by any means, but it’s cute and it was one of my favorites during middle school. Virid was always my favorite simply because he was... pretty different. He’s introduced as some malicious boy showing little mercy to those around him, but he’s probably one of the softest characters in the series as it progresses.

Terra was actually one of my first (and strongest) muses that I still have a semi-active independent blog for. She was always my favorite on the Teen Titans, and I was always really upset when a majority of people disliked her solely for shipping reasons.

She’s a great character that has flaws and insecurities, and she acts on them like many girls her age likely would. She’s not perfect and isn’t meant to be a hero, and that’s what I love about her. Terra is just a girl trying to find her way, and she slips up like one would expect.

She’s also the villain that you get to see evolve to that point, which is why I think a lot of people disliked her. Unlike other Teen Titan villains that are probably accepted more than her, you’re able to see just how she gets to that point. She isn’t introduced as some bad guy with a quirky personality. She’s supposed to make you hurt. I can understand the dislike for her, though—it’s just a shame when people just dislike her for putting a ship in jeopardy!

Honestly, I could go on about her all day—but I’ll stop there ( just know that she may be making an appearance at TTU once I can pick up my third character - and if she’s still free c’: )

“Excuse me, but is this seat taken?” Sayo’s voice is low as she speaks, her hand resting on the back of the only remaining chair at the table. It appeared that some students had dragged the others off so they could sit with their friends at another table, leaving the one free chair and another that another girl was occupying. “It looks like the library is having a chair shortage today.”

“I’m glad that the weather is finally starting to feel a little more like Fall.” Not only did the weather feel a lot nicer, but fall also meant that Halloween would draw near soon. Sayo’s thoughts, of course, came out before she realized it, and she could only hope that she wasn’t bothering the male next to her. “What do you think...?”

It’s time for the inevitable starter call! Life has finally calmed down so I didn’t hesitate to bring Sayo back, and she’s in desperate need of friends and reconnecting. There’s no cap for now!

“I should ... really start studying more. I feel like I’ve been slacking a bit, which is a little surprising..”

“Couldn’t get my brain to shut up for five minutes mostly And of course the prof had to pick the most driest lecture to give today.”

He had told her his latest worries with his friends running off to find a killer. While he understood the need for closure he also worried about them nonetheless. He hadn’t even gotten that little call from Kurogane at this point and already it was affecting him. It was just the way he had become, constantly worrying himself sick if he wasn’t careful.

“I’m sure you did well on that exam.” he added. 

“Ah, that sounds like a dull day.” Sayo purses her lips together for a brief moment, but it doesn’t take long for her smile to return. Shrugging slightly, she folds her hands in her laps and gives Battler an almost bashful smile. “Maybe. Hopefully. My grades aren’t bad at all, but it’s definitely an unnecessary stress.”

“Long.” he replied, “It just seemed to drag on, I swear.”

His posture drooped considerably. He was tired, and it was clear from his face he was. He had kept her up to date with his latest headache: the fact that their friends were currently in another town looking for mobsters, as crazy as that sounded.

That was probably why she did this, which he was grateful for.

“Yours?” he asked, “I’m assuming busy with this little creation of yours.”

“Definitely not as long as yours.”

Sure, maybe the blanket fort had taken a little bit of time, but Sayo had a feeling that Battler’s day had been a tad more stressful than her own. “I had an exam during my morning class, but it wasn’t too bad. Did anything specific happen to make your day feel longer...?”

He laughed a little, sitting right beside her. It was comfortable in here, and he wasn’t even brushing the top of his head against the blankets. He happily accepted the offer of the blanket and draped it over his legs, scooting over to be closer to her.

“Nope. I actually kind of missed doing stuff like this.”

Even though they were supposed to be adults, something like a blanket fort could still be enjoyed. It was nice, not having to worry about the world for a while.

“Well, I guess I worried for nothing.”

Though, even on the off chance that Battler didn’t have any interest in the blanket fort she could have just offered it to Angie. It wouldn’t have been a big deal had he wanted to do something else instead.

“How was your day?”

To her credit, he did jump a little when she popped out at him, but the surprise quickly turned into a smile. He had to admit, she was adorable. Not that she wasn’t cute every day, but certainly today she was.

“You’d think I’d say no?” he asked with a hint of teasing in his voice. He crawled in to sit beside her. It was comfortable under here, with all of the pillows lining the floor. It was something from childhood he was supposed to grow out of, but he was glad he hadn’t. These sort of makeshift forts were always the most fun, and it was certainly welcomed right now.

“You certainly outdid yourself with this fort.”

“I dunno. I’m a little disappointed that I didn’t have enough room to put in a mini-swimming pool.”

Sayo speaks in a playful tone as she offers him room to sit. The fort itself isn’t too large, but it’s definitely roomy enough for both of them to be comfortable. She pulls one of the blankets up that’s been left on one of the many pillows, and she tugs it over her lap before offering him some of it. “I hope this isn’t too childish for you.”

Worry consumed most of his hours, awake or not. This time around he was starting to get better at managing it, but all the same Battler was stressed. His studies helped to take some of the edge off of it, as well as he loved ones, but the lack of sleep was showing. At least, he thought, he was doing better than he was last time he was like this.

Of course today had dragged on and nearly put him to sleep during lectures. He was happy when it was over, and he could just go home and ahve a few hours to himself and perhaps Sayo before Ange would come home from school. He had no idea what he would do when he got there, but so long as it wasn’t stress inducing he didn’t care.

“Oi, oi, finally…” 

He trailed off as he opened the door to the apartment, relieved that he could finally relax. However he paused in his steps after he closed the door and noticed something. Right in the middle of the room was a rather cozy looking blanket fort. He tilted his head, rather confused by its appearance. It looked way too good for Ange to have built it. So that left only one option…

“…?”

He put his bag and jacket aside and started looking around. He didn’t see her anywhere, so the only logical conclusion was she was inside. He carefully got down on his hands and knees and pulled ack part of the blanket to look inside.

The moment she hears the door open she’s scooting closer to the little entrance of the fort, prepared to surprise Battler. An innocent smile is playing on her lips, but the moment she notices the blanket being pulled back she immediately pops forward.

“Boo!”

Sayo doubts that she’ll scare him, but it’s still an attempt to surprise him (as if the impromptu blanket fort wasn’t a surprise already). With her cover now gone she scoots back slightly, though still remains in sight as she speaks. 

“Would you like to join me?”

Class had wrapped up early for Sayo, so she had some spare time on her hands. Normally she would remain on campus for a little longer, talk to the few people she could consider friends, but today she had a plan.

Thanks to the early dismissal she was able to make it back to the apartment before Battler. This would give her a chance to set things up before he could return. Pillows and blankets are tugged from their respective places and thrown into the middle of the living room; and interesting sight considering how neat she often was. 

“Hm...”

Not quite satisfied yet, Sayo begins to pull some chairs into the room to aid her. Before long she has successfully constructed a blanket fort, complete with pillow padding inside. It’s a bit of a simple idea, but it’s honestly been a while since her and Battler could relax with something as innocent as this.

Now the wait begins.

“Hey take your time. We got all day.”

In the mean time, he decided to try and look around himself for anything interesting. He honestly wasn’t quite sure what she would like, but he did find a pumpkin head he could mess around with.

Maybe he’d wait a while before he tried to scare his girlfriend with pumpkinhead!boyfriend. Yeah, wait until after she’d got a costume.

“I’ll try to be fast.”

As fast as someone who’s indecisive can be. Sayo grabs the Alice dress before she continues on her way. There’s very few options that she actually enjoys, but the brunette still grabs anything that catches her attention even a little. Maybe she’ll actually like something. “I’m going to go try some of these on, Battler. I’ll be right back.”
