It's wild how much a book's "quality" drops the moment teenage girls love it.
infuriates me to not end! a writer friend of mine said something along the lines of "oh wattpad is just full of teenage girls who think your story is great, so it's hard to tell how good it is" and I'm like....how dare you
The reason is because teenage girls have the fame of liking questionable things in fiction, popularized by a minority of girls that read "hardcore" gay sex and fetishize it. The amount of tenagers in my tiktok feed that enjoy watching or reading Yaoi (mostly anime for what I've seen) is insane to say the least, specially because I'm in the normal side of booktok most of the time and then these pop up because of it.
If Archive of Our Own is rocket science for you, you would not have survived fanfiction.net times back in the 2000's.
Sadly cries in a saddening sad way that is sad.
See? I can write
When did fanfiction start being more professionally written than actual professional books?
Hm, let's bring cringe back, fanfic authors are stressing out from just writing one sentence wrong.
The life of a writer; forgetting the word for door.
