With any war, a thorough comprehension of the battleground and enemy statistics is necessary. The abandoned mansion, though a suitable location for a hideout, was not going to help Armstrong and his servant make progress in this Grail War. Following in the energy circulating beneath the ground, Armstrong slowly trudged his way to the city center.
Given the premise of the war, Armstrong was surprised by the bustling city center of Fuyuki. The night is still quite young it appears. The streets were yet well-lit and people were still shuffling in and out of buildings. Armstrong made a mental note to avoid fighting in the early hours and to direct his enemies far away from the city if at all possible.
As he continued to ponder on how he will identify his opponents, the soft orange glow of a lantern caught his eye. Though hung directly below the store sign above the door, it was barely above Armstrong’s head.
The sign read. The Major considered for a moment, and decided to take the next course of action.
“Welcome to the Ahnenerbe Cafe, our special today is the Sengoku Banana Sundae—”
The small, cat-like cafe owner started to speak at the sound of the bells before she noticed the huge bulk of a customer who towered above her.
“Excuse my intrusion, miss.”
“But I have come to request my employment at your humble cafe.”
“Si-Sir, we are currently not—”
Intimidated, she retreated behind the counter, but Armstrong pressed on.
“I mean on harm, miss. But I can assure you that you will not be disappointed at my performance.”
As if to accentuate his point, Alex removed his military jacket to expose his fine physique.
“The cherished art of waiting and tea pouring has been passed down the Armstrong line for generations!”
There was no real choice for the owner of Ahnenerbe to begin with. Blinded by the excessive shine that the giant was giving off, she reluctantly assigned the Major to waiting duties. She will find out soon, however, that Armstrong was also an expert in desserts.
And so Armstrong began his employment at Ahnenerbe Cafe, where he judged to be an excellent location for information gathering.
