He nodded. Not everybody saw it that way. “Well, I suppose I am — I just don’t really know what kind of fun I’m looking for.”
« well, hey, sky’s the limit, am i right? and the more the merrier too! » never shy from making friends, he held a hand out to the stranger. « hercules. but my friends call me herc. »
VITANI.
“Oh sure, the life of the great Vitani Lavon is about as interesting as interesting gets.” She chuckled, a flat expression falling upon her features. In a way, she doubted her life could have ever been boring, what with the crowd her troubled little family had been known to run with, but there definitely could have been more to it, even if it did sound interesting. “I suppose you don’t really know what it’s like to be that kid with that family until it just hits you in the face one day.” Lifting her drink from the table, allowing it to rest in its destined spot against her thumb, the girl waved it in a motion showing off the empty chair that was now being avoided by every patron in the bar, inviting the blushing large male to join her. “Well, when you’re looking for a hook-up, I think it’s very important the person you’re gonna sleep with knows everything there is to you — so what about you, guy, what’s your family like?”
he liked her boldness, a trait he always found comforting with his company. the sudden push for something more whether or not it was needed but hey, it always sparked the interesting conversation here and there. « yeah, i can related to that. » his chuckles were drowned by the next sip he took, deciding to go slower with his intake to savour both the taste and his conversation. he slid into the chair she offered, however, the blush found its way back stronger against high cheek bones as he rubbed the back of his neck, choosing to avert her gaze. « i guess so, i don’t really go out of my way to do all that stuff though... » as lame as he could have possibly sounded, his own interest sparked at her question, features suddenly lighting at the opportunity to talk about his own tale. « not the easiest, but definitely not the hardest. i was pretty much kidnapped as a kid, but my adopted parents found me and took me in. when i was in high school, i got pretty popular and got my name on the news. my real parents managed to find me and that’s pretty much it. »
PEARL.
“You must be pretty soft, if it’s that easy.” She stumbled a bit, but miraculously managed to catch the fruit with both of her hands, where she would end up rolling it between palms coyly as she continued to tease. “One, I didn’t try to do anything, and even if I did, it totally wasn’t premeditated — and two, you better remind me real quick, else I’ll forget about you completely.”
« hey, i’ll have you know, that underneath this hard exterior, i’m just a soft guy. a little bunny all at heart. » a bat of his eyelashes just for emphasis but he knew he couldn’t keep up the charade for long. now, hercules was impulsive, his actions based solely on the moment of things and he’d soon find ways to regret it later on. but the way he scooped her small body up in his arms seemed almost natural --- --- a simple reminder of their first meeting. « that ringing any bells for you? »
PEARL.
“Our trip to the nurse’s office? What are you talking about… I’ve never been to the nurse’s office before, and I think I would remember going with you.” She teased, swaying on her toes as he approached with the peach, as she’d hoped he would. “You might need to remind me.”
« ouch. now you’re just trying to hurt my feelings. » playful grin grew in size as he tossed the peach over to her, hoping, of course, that she would catch it ( maybe they’d need to revisit the nurse’s office again. ) « first you try to kill me with a fruit and now this. you play a hard game but i’m sure i know something that could remind you. »
VITANI.
“Let’s see… I have a crazy mother, a dirty older brother and a prince of a younger brother. Where’s daddy? You tell me. Kovu and I did that ancestry DNA thing, where you send your spit to a bunch of strangers to learn all about even the smallest parts of your identity, and as it turns out — which literally comes as no surprise to me — we don’t even have genes from all of the same places. So yeah, my brothers and I all have different loser dads, our mom is terrifying and our kind of, sort of adoptive daddy was no better.” Pulling a glass of lemon & bitters from her lips, clinking the ice against the sides , the girl shrugged, turning her gaze to the stranger that stood looking down on her, while the man whom she’d been speaking with left a chair opposite, baron. “Guess I’m not speed-dating material, huh?”
obviously he hadn’t meant to eavesdrop on the entire thing, but it was rather hard to ignore the whimsical family tree being described right next to him. an amused smirk almost found its way to his lips, curling against his glass as warm amber liquid burned down his throat. « not the best but hey, you sure do have an interesting life. » he chuckled at being spoken to, not realising the social norms he was breaking by outwardly admitting to having listened to the conversation. though the blush turned rose against his cheek, if she asked, he’d blame it on the scotch. hercules cleared his throat and sat the glass back down on the countertop, playing his palm firmly along the surface. « i mean --- --- i’m sure you’re not that bad at speed-dating. you definitely took speed to a new level there, huh? » again, not the greatest choice of words he could have ever picked and he stood there, letting himself imagine the huge hand ready to slap against his forehead.
RED.
A tiny smile came to Red’s face, brightening it beyond any girl could imagine. “You really want to help? I could use a good arm on those bread crumbs for the crust. If you could crumble them up good then mix in those ingredients I have set out that would be great!”
« might as well use these muscles for something good, right? » he was more than happy to use his time into doing something productive --- --- and, of course, out of the cycle of doing things repetitively. but herc was no cook and many should know that so he shot her a wary look. « um, just crumble them, right? »
BOB.
“I wasn’t aiming for your head. I really did thing you were looking. It just so happened… that you weren’t.” Bob shrugged. “ I thought it would be a good night to get some drinks. There are pleanty of bars around and maybe I can be like a wng man.” Bob said nudging Herc and giving him a playful wink.
« no offense to you man, but, do you really think i need a wingman? » the overly cocky attitude didn’t suit him as well as he thought and the softest ( and embarrassed ) laugh curled from between his lips as he nudged him on back. « i’m game to going to a few bars. it might numb the thought of that ball actually managing to hit my head. you’re paying right? » again, overly confident smile drew onto his features.
CLINT.
“You weren’t supposed to be standing there.” Clint rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly, knowing how much it would have hurt if the kid had actually been hit by the projectile.”
« are you telling me that you weren’t actually trying to impale me? » his words laced with tease but hercules couldn’t help but admit the sudden spook it had given him. thank the lord for the impressive amount of reflex he had.
HERMES.
“Of course I do.” Hermes grinned. “I’d be extremely upset if I didn’t.”
« hey, at least now you have something else on your resume. maybe not the best but stil could work. »
TARZAN.
“Oh yeah sorry. I wasn’t actually trying to hit you. I was trying to juggle and I got ahead of myself.”
« thank god. i would’ve been a little more worried if that was intentional. but, juggling, huh ? always thought that stuff looked pretty hard to do ! »
CHIHIRO.
Chihiro wanted to turn a sour face at the compliment that had seemed to come from nowhere after she’d dangerously decided to toss a small wooden plaque from her hands to those of a classmate behind the one speaking, but found instead that pink cheeks darkened in a blush. “I do?”
« wouldn’t say it if i didn’t mean it. » frankly, hercules was just grateful he had managed to dodge out of the way, fearing what could have happened if the plaque had found itself against his head. a shudder ran cold down his spine but what was the point of overthinking it too much --- --- « ever thought of doing sports or was that just a one time thing? »
PEARL.
Pearl curled in on herself innocently, chewing down on her tongue to keep a laugh from spill out as she stared at the male she’d intentionally tried to hit with the peach. “Who said I even threw it in the first place?”
« well, you’ve got motive, don’t you? still haven’t forgotten our trip to the nurse’s office. » he could still feel the smallest patch of guilt forming in his heart but he’d push that away with a small smile, peach in hand and making his way on over.
JUMBO.
“Um—… Mama said I should talk to more people and make some friends.” He was quiet and awkward and unsure of himself, but if Jumbo knew anything, it was that his mother was always right.
« hey well, respecting your mother is pretty important, huh? » he’d throw his charm through a smile, lips curled upwards as he motioned for the shorter boy to come forward. « are you looking to have some fun? »
BOB.
“Hey, sorry, Hercules. I guess I thought you were paying attention.” Bob looked down at the ball and shrugged. “Got your attention now, huh?”
« trying to get my attention by knocking me on the head, i see. i respect that. » he chuckled, shaking his head slightly as he walked over. at least now he had something to do. « what’s up? better be worth nearly decapitating me. »
RED.
Small hands worked away at a large bowl of mix causing her muscles to ache after the now third batch of homemade lemon delights. “You are more then welcome to take one…”
« as good as those look, i’ll pass just for now. » he flashed her a charming smile before nodding over to the bowl she was carrying. « but, i would love treats i helped make myself! do you need a hand with that? »
« hey... you have a pretty good throw. » granted, he almost got smacked in the head with the UFO but still --- --- hercules recognised a good throw when he saw it.
HERMES.
“Then we get to the bottom, and we get out.”
« huh. but what if we’re crushed at the bottom instead? that would kind’ve suck. »
