you know i really like that claude and edelgard kind of reflect each other. like claude gets edelgard. he understands what she's doing. he also thinks that rhea is better off dead (or at least not in charge anymore) and really the only thing he can't see eye to eye with edelgard is her methods because claude is idealistic.

he knows the price of war but he'd prefer not to pay it. he would rather not sacrifice anyone in service of his dream, even if he knows it's inevitable. (his dialogue vs. edelgard really sticks with me for this reason)

i think claude von riegan is very idealistic and kind of naive. i have more thoughts on this but my mind is working on overdrive just trying to figure out how to say all this.
