Beautiful morning spent with the creative folks at @thrivefarmers. Thankful for people doing coffee well [economically + sustainably] with the lives of farmers at the forefront. (at Thrive Farmers)
I think we just started using their coffee at Chick-fil-A
Me: *brushes teeth for the night*
Me: *proceeds to eat Cheezits*
Questions I ask women:
Do you lift?
I work at Chick-fil-a and Eric, our manager, is tired of our shit [h/t]
This is great (and also I hope our manager never does this).
I'm kinda sick of hearing about the American Sniper film. It seemed like war/nationalism propoganda from the second I saw the trailer. Many of my family members keep talking about Chris Kyle being a hero and this and that. From what I've read, he was pretty black-and-white about brown people being evil and himself representing what is good. Also, that he took pleasure in killing people, etc. Basically a blatant racist and remorseless killer. But I've also heard that Eastwood's film presents more moral ambiguity, portraying Kyle as perhaps morally anguished about his decisions and introducing more complications to his personality. However, given the comments this film has incited, I can't imagine myself seeing it (especially since I may like the character despite not liking the real person). And I'm so sick of hearing the "died for your freedoms" thing. Apparently people can't even complain about Kyle because they wouldn't even be able to do so if not for him. Apart from that being factually incorrect, it's possible to decry war in general and the war on terror in particular without saying that all military personnel are this or that negative thing. However, given what I've read about Chris Kyle, I would make an exception in his case. Anyway, I get so sickened by how my loved ones peddle empty expressions like "dying for our freedoms" and unquestioningly support our actions abroad. And I hate to start shit so I just listen to all of it without objecting. But there's no way I'll change all their minds. Primarily this is because I'm young while they're older and so I haven't been around long enough to have any sort of informed or justified opinion.
Me: *puts 2/3 cups water in mix*

Me: Um, this looks like hell.
Me: ...
Me: *reads box again*
Me: "2 3/4 cups"
Me: ...shit.
fun date idea: take me to a used book and music store and we each pick out a cd and a book for the other person. then we go back and listen to the cds with chinese takeout or a pizza or something idk. and then you take me home and I read the book you picked out for me and we talk about what happened in each other’s books on our next date.
Introverts don’t get lonely if they don’t socialize with a lot of people, but we do get lonely if we don’t have intimate interactions on a regular basis.

Coffee is far more than a beverage. It is an invitation to life, disguised as a cup of warm liquid. It’s a trumpet wake-up call or a gentle rousing hand on your shoulder…Coffee is an experience, an offer, a rite of passage, a good excuse to get together.

Maybe it’s brave to quit your job to go paint in Peru for a year, but it’s also brave to work two jobs to help pay for your mom’s medical bills. It’s smart to stay at the law firm until your loans are paid off. It’s OK to only tolerate your job but love your hobbies, because as soon as passions are turned into careers, you risk turning love into work. So you don’t love your job — who gives a shit? Are you happy with yourself? Are you happy with the way you treat people? Are you happy with your life?

I have the utmost respect for philosophy majors. People don't know how hard those classes are until they have to take symbolic logic.
Although truthfully, symbolic logic was probably the easiest philosophy class I ever took.
